    Nice idea i also love making circuits using everyday items for the board.I just finished making a static detector using beer caps.

    The bad news- I forgot to turn on notifications and YT didn't show me any of your videos for about a year.
    The good news- I have lots of awesome videos to watch!

    Haha excellent....a tasty design there.
    Say, there was a circuit a few years ago where you could use bananas as keys, to play notes on a 555 circuit. A whole new genre of sound creation could be created - Kitchen Music

      I kinda did it just for the "chip" idea but now that you mention it, thinking food in general opens up all sorts of ideas. Has to be clever though - like microchip/potato chip. e.g. For meat would you make it say Hi! so that you could "meet the meat"?

    • @RimstarOrg
      @RimstarOrg  Před 6 lety

      The one in this video works with 4.5 volts but will also work with 5 volts. You can find a bigger picture of the circuit on my webpage here rimstar.org/science_electronics_projects/potato_chip_macrochip_w_555_timer_circuit.htm.

    • @RimstarOrg
      @RimstarOrg  Před 6 lety

      The only purposes I can think of are making it for fun (which is why I did it), or making one for a practical joke (i.e. put it in a bowl of chips like I did and have it do something).

    • @RimstarOrg
      @RimstarOrg  Před 6 lety +1

      Because. :) Good idea though -- put a circuit on actual bread!
      Hmmm... according to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breadboard, they originally used breadboards for cutting bread and so that's where the name came from.

    Funny and educational, but why on a chip?
    Is this a play on words? Is this funny because, like a microchip, it uses a potato chip?
    Perhaps because it gets attention, like mine for example

    • @RimstarOrg
      @RimstarOrg  Před rokem

      Yup. It's a play on words. A macrochip instead of a microchip.
