      See, Bollywood for a long time has been considered as “Indian cinema” throughout the country and outside as well. Movies made in other Indian languages were considered regional. It is only now that this is changing and movies from other states are gaining the recognition of being mainstream Indian cinema. This is an excellent change. Having said that, casting a North Indian to potray a South Indian.. when South India is brimming with talented actors is beyond me. Back then this was the norm, we all grew up watching that as well. But now, perspectives are shifting, representation matters.

Ok fine. Do you know I live in chennai and I don't know to speak in madurai tamil slang. TBH it's one of the oldest and classical slang of tamil. The meenatchi temple is a UNESCO world heritage site which is more ancient than your reservation based Taj mahal. In a recent film called soorarai pottru the actor trained for 2 months to speak in madurai slang. But don't north indians have a simple courtesy to learn tamil? Disrespect to tamil and so ignorant. In India, almost everyone wants to be known as an engineer or doctor. Outside India, Engineers are nothing but just workers who does drilling, plumbing, electric work, building softwares, mining, construction etc. Being an Indian, software engineer myself, and have travelled across the globe and lived in other countries for more than 20 years, I can say that we Indians are still living with a conception created by the British where we are just workers. It’s time to change. There are lot of other areas other than engineering that needs to be encouraged. We need to be innovative and come up with our own concepts and products to the world.

      Meenakshi was a queen of Pandya dynasty. Meenakshi married Sundareshwarar. Pandya Dynasty capital is Madurai. Meenakshi Amman Temple is in Madurai. This story might be happening in Madurai. May I know, what is the problem?
      Meenakshi is a popular name in TN. You can find more in TN due to the popular deity of Meenakshi in Madurai.

    I am very obliged to give a comment on this movie. Firstly this movie talk about how a relationship build and give the importance to small small things which will have a great impact. This film not only just change the relationship goals but the essence of presence is makes much more difference. DoP did his job very well just look at those glimpse of wedding style and costume designer did nevertheless the other.
    Coming to acting no one did more or less they just lived and presented the character. That's what a real actor does. In my opinion I didn't saw the Soniya in the film at all but I watched Meenakshi herself.
    Thanks to everyone one who made this south Indian cultural blast sprinkled with emotion on it...

      Lol, if dhanush, being a south indian, can play North Indian character in raanjhana, then why not north Indian ppl do vice-versa....???? After all, acting and justifying role matters, not ur regions....even most of south indian actors, especially from tollywood, sandalwood are average in their acting skills...

      @6ftofmisery636 Před 2 lety

      @@iamdevxak but the whole point of this film is to display south Indian culture, the character has to be south Indian. Dhanush's character has nothing to do with him being a north Indian or south Indian

      @@iamdevxak bro south indian actors are average in acting skills 😂😂, omg, then why Bollywood stands in row to remake south indian movies, have heard of bahubali and kgf films?? still many more to come, a jackal didnt reach to get grapes in grape yard and said to lion that grapes are sour like that, the way u said is same as jackal

    • @iamdevxak
      @iamdevxak Před 2 lety

      @@alexburger7214 I said most, not all are average, that too I targeted tollywood and sandalwood here....and it's the south indian directors themselves who mostly remake their own hit films in bollywood with big stars, except few ones...so, better blame them, not bollywood...remakes generally happen bcz of strong scripts, not bcz of actors, even salman khan film dabangg got remade in south as gabbar singh, that doesn't mean he is a great actor, right....!!!

    Bollywood has a problem of stereotyping the culture, if south indian it should be iyer, saying aiyo and ille all the tym. If its punjabi they all will be saying balle balle all the tym. If you actually wanna appreciate Indian cinema and culture, TRP (Jammy) is a savior.
