Most unrealistic part is when the parents started to feel guilty 😂😂 they'll never accept their mistakes, they'll keep blaming their sons/daughters no matter what 😂
Exactly because they're highly entitled. Movies mein sorry v bol dete hai lol 😂
Exactly
💯
Exactly.... Parents will blame u anyhow and if u complaint like this they will blame u for this too...
Yes you are absolutely right dear
In real life parents will never accept their mistakes
Rather they will blame us
only people with toxic parents will understand why someone becomes so bitter in life❤
So true .I feel the pain.
I think sooo many people especially in India have toxic parents but no one dare to speak about it in any interview because of the image that parents can never be wrong.... living with toxic parents is like taking toxic breath every second and dying from inside every second.
Add me in.. Have been through a lot though trying to let go but the impact is worst than Chernobyl
who the hell are taxic parents do they apply taxes on you or something?
edit: to the dear people in the replies i am not mad just a sarcastic joke
@@severalpeoplearetyping2477they probably meant toxic.
That was a typo.
Don’t be mad 😂😂lmaoo
The way our parents compares the achievements of siblings in front of them, destroys their interpersonal relationship. Awareness to stop this is needed!
Thats true. Especially in my life. I started to feel like Iam worthless. I made a crime as I was born in the family, or the world may be
True
My parents never compare me and my sibling. I was always an overachiever and my sibling, just the opposite and I am grateful towards them for not spoiling our relationship. However, I am sure they would've done it if it was the other way round because my parents who are so understanding towards us used to compare me with my friends and sometimes even bodyshame me, that too in their presence.
Thanks for saying this!
JUST DO BETTER @@arpitatalapatra7593
In reality when women like Kiara expose such people, then instead of them crying or realizing the mistake people team up and begin calling her crazy, even laugh at another person's face.
While the parents concerned in this film were neglectful and tactless, it also must be remembered that Kaira did indeed make the choice to lead a bohemian, aimless life full of bitterness for which nobody would obviously praise her and even if her parents had been supportive, they would be disappointed in her choices. Just as kids today openly diss their parents, why should parents always be expected to be supportive? Many parents hear a lot from entitled kids these days. They're even blamed for their kids' entitled demands as the result of poor parenting.
This movie makes it seem that all the problems in Kaira's life is due to her unhappy childhood until the therapist reminds her that her life is her responsibility too. Don't young adult kids and teens lash out at their parents so often with a "it's my life" outburst. Do kids imbibe all the good values inculcated painstakingly by parents through childhood? Which parent in their right mind will ask their child to drink, smoke, do drugs and sleep around (something many youngsters do today to look hip or to overcome a self developed insecurity). Is parental influence the only influence on kids once they step into teenage and young adulthood? Then why pin all the blame for all the wrongs in a young adult's life on the parents alone? WHERE IS PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY? 🙄
@@vidyaarvind4458 well said!! Yes parents make mistakes but eventually you need to pick yourselves, get all the help you need if parents are toxic and move on
@@LBINLONDON2010 Thanks for getting the point. 🙏
@@vidyaarvind4458We should definitely do our best to get help and better our lives but that doesnt mean we should not call out the toxicity that your parents treat you with.
If parents see their children becoming aimless and acting out, do you think mocking their children and mistreating them is gonna set them straight or do you think paying attention to their child, helping them identify their problems and working with them through it is a better solution.
@@Maya_hee How come you have no answers to the second half of my comment? How come we can't call out those kids who fail to imbibe the good values parents have painstakingly tried to insult? A great number of teens and young adults simply don't wish to listen to their parents and routinely disregard good advice given to them by parents. Alia bhatt's troubles in the movie are not only due to her parents' neglect. I have already written a lot. Learn to read comments in their entirety.
The boy's expressions were very genuine at Alia's outburst. He really could understand what she was goinh through inside.

He’s allowed to make mistakes but as an elder daughter I’m not allowed to do anything that’s not correct according to my parents. In indian culture everyone has a mindset that parents are God ,mother is Goddess. But only kids with toxic parents know the pain. And the worst part is , no one is there to help you from the toxicity of your parents. Whom you're gonna ask for help saying that your mother is torturing you , taking advantage of your kind nature, giving you life long trauma which even years after feel like it all happened yesterday.
😢exactly
This scene hits hard. Im going through the same thing and it really hurts. Parents will never realise the emotional pain that they put through their children.
The day before my 10th class board result came i had a fever and my mom was sleeping with me to take care of me at night......i was feeling so uncomfortable and my tears couldn't stop because of high fever, my mom heard me and she said it's ok if you get only passing marks, nobody will ask for the marks of 10th class, she thought i had a fever because of the pressure 😅(i was a good student so expecting good results) but it really made me feel genuinely happy that my family care more about me......and now when i am 30 i have experienced many losses but still can say the care and support of my family doesn't change.......

@@gunjanramteke909 you are great! I wish others also could think the same way as you do.
This is the Bitter truth for Millions of Children who aren't the "Favorites" or the "Mera Ladla Beta / Beti".
Parenting is tough BUT ONLY if you are willing to do it and do it right.
Merely Complaining about Parenting being tough is like fishing for compliments or appreciation.
Children often suffer simply because they think it is THEIR fault.
It was SUCH A Blessing to have Grandparents who actually cared and put in the long hours to listen to their Grandchildren, play with them, and help them understand the weird, confusing, complex, and often hypocritical world.
Parenting must be sorted out by BOTH the parents. It must be a tag-team effort. Instead, it has increasingly become a "Passing the Parcel" or "Hot Potato" game with innocent children.
In middle class families, children are nothing but just investments
I agree to this!
Parental Toxicity should be made a criminal offence!
i always cry in this scene...this is too real...and it is exactly my story :(
Sorry dude
Did your parents abandon you?
No loving parent can stop parenting, it is a life time commitment, however the type of parenting changes depending on your sons and daughters age from nurturing to teaching and discipline to guidance to letting go and observing. Unfortunately there are many who get stuck at teaching and discipline and would never allow their kids to grow up.
Exactly 💯
Alia put her heart and soul into this scene.
I really loved the performance of Alia in Highway movie and Dear zindagi. Great acting❤
The scene that brings back my trauma is the scene where both the kids are present but every single family member talks only abt the son..they praise one child ao much and belittle the other child so much!
Being ignored as a child will haunt forever. When an innocent child believes her parents are her world and she has no idea that she is not even the last thing on their mind. If parents don't care for their child who else will. When you become an adult you realize you were never a child because you had to fight all alone for your place in your own parents life. That becomes a habit to fight to belong with people who don't care. You never lived as a child feeling like one. And when you are an adult that kid in you resurfaces wanting attention but you always pick people who don't care.
Kaira is absolutely right... Pehle parents khud apne bachhon pr dhyaan nhi dete apne aage dusro ke aage and then they say ki ye khraab hogye h.. badtameez hogye h... Blaa blaa blaa ... They don't see wrong in their actions
The sad part is sometimes you don't even need a sibling for your parents to put you down. Parents can be toxic even to their own single child
She said what we want to say to our parents
This is very underrated movie. Alia did amazing acting in this movie also.🌸

It's a real struggle... sometimes I cry for stupid reasons and for no reason at all ...now to complain sounds foolish 😂

Couple of therapy session would ease your trauma. I promise you you'd feel much better after releasing your repressed emotions with a right therapist. Your clinginess, your inner wounds will be reduced after 2 sessions. Mental health is as important as physical health. Don't ignore it please. I wish you all the love, wishes and health. ❤

The worst part of toxic parenting is that they do a lot of things for us which we never asked for. Actually we are gratified. But that doesn’t mean we are their slaves till the end of life.

1.05 this part personally hits me so hard. My brother, who's an introvert, was always welcomed and loved by my relatives and called as sidha, shant bachha while I, who was an extrovert since childhood, got labeled as mannerless, badtamiz. They even judged my character when I was merely 12 because I was from city. It hit me so hard thet I even stopped interacting and playing with thier kids like I used to still they didn't shut up, instead said that I developed bad attitude. Worst is my mom never supported me because they were from her side
That is so horrible. I hope you find right people in your life who brings out the extrovert in you once again without you having to be judged.

Not all parents are responsible parents. You do not require any license or qualification to become a parent and thus can be taken for granted. The whole concept of “parents are my life line”, a lot of people do not resonate with this feeling at all. In fact Mother’s and/or Father’s day is just painful for them because they cannot celebrate what the entire world (normally) celebrates.

Poor Kyra she really went through a lot in her life happiness begins from home indeed thats what I learnt from the movie ❤👍🏻
I don't know why, but i absolutely love these outbursts of characters, just yelling at someone after years of endurance

Parents always think that there life is tough but childrens life too is not that easy
I my self have suffered due to my parents and because of that i don't have anything now not a career not any job or business no relationship i have been ended being alone 😢
99% parents thinks that they doing good to there children but 90% children life is spoiled by there own parents and due to that many children go in the wrong way like smoking drinking to dipression
So my request to all the parents to the world first just accept your childrens how they r don't Change them atleast let them to leave there life in freedom that is the most simplest thing u can do 🙏
It all started with that uncle!! She was never jealous of her brother infact she was so proud of him.. 0:43 It was that uncle person defining that there is a correct way to live one's life n that kaira was wrong bcoz she was a cinematographer n that she was not pursuing a career which is rather mainstream. N the way he gave that look while indirectly pointing out at her
Every word she spoke hit me hard!! It was a fact when she said first parents gave birth to their child then do whatever they want n whatever is convenient for them, give them life time trauma and at the end blame them for reacting 💔
