You should really start watching South Indian movies then/at the very least listen to the songs rather than only getting this representation through north Indian movies(no offence, I'm literally just stating facts and giving advice though)
A good starter would be this Telugu song called "vachindamma"
Do listen to more authentic ones too not saying just tolly /kolly is authentic a 100% either but Bollywood gives a very northindian-ised version of it, at least feels little slacky

I've always been fascinated by the South Indian culture and people and I've even learnt some South Indian songs like Uyire, Unnatundi gundey, Unnai Kaanadu Naan and some from Vijay Deverakonda's films and Oru Adaar Love. I'd say this film’s depicted the typical South Indian culture realistically and with utmost simplicity. It's shown the story of long-distance marriage and what it takes to make the relationship of the two married couple flourishing as the distance between them lengthens. This is love❤

For anyone who's curious, the nadaswaram (the wind instrument that plays the tune through the song) is playing the introductory section of the carnatic song "swara raga sudha" in ragam shankarabharanam. A very beautiful song for those wishing to be initiated to carnatic music
