Church's Pond Hike with a bonus bear encounter (story in the video) | 5.21.23

Had a bit of a funny encounter with a bear early on in the hike. It came running down the hill right at us, but it was obvioulsy scared to death and was running FROM something and not AT us. It passed really close to us and continued on through the bushes at a high rate of speed. It all happened so fast that we couldn't get our cameras out and we had no time to be scared! The bear was a juvenile and had beautiful, floofy fur.

I thoroughly enjoyed even second of this video. Yes, I've hiked this trail & the 9.2 mile loop at least once a year. I knew exactly where you were, every step of the way. I've never seen Church's Pond frozen over. Nor have I ever had any bear encounters on this trail. Yes, I've even overnighted @ Church's Pond, twice.
