📱 What screen recorder am I using?
I use Camtasia to make all my videos. From my experience it's the best screen recorder available, and I like the built in video editor and cursor effects. Check it out here: techsmith.z6rjha.net/ba9x0M

Merry Christmas, happy holidays and thank you for this years`s great tutorials!!!
Thank you so much! And, Merry Christmas to you and your family!
I've seen that logo in this video for years and I finally thought this is the video of how this logo came to be. A deconstruction-reconstruction video. Alas, I guess I'll have to wait a couple of more years until someone does it.
A deconstruction would be cool. Interesting to see how things are made in vector format.
Ultimate man
Another great video from Rick unlocking more of the cool features Inkscape has. Thanks again! 😃
Thank you so much! Love unlocking!
Loved it, Could you make a video on how to turn an image into watercolor flowers. Thanks.
Wow! I’m learning something new every time you post a video. Thank you so much, and have a wonderful holiday!
Thanks!! Have a wonderful holiday and a Happy New Year!
Another great one Rick! Thank you very much!
Thank you so much!
If you group after rotating, the blur direction will apply rotated without having to make new objects. Though in this tutorial it doesn't matter.
Thank you Martin!! Always learning and I always appreciate everything you do.
Another great vid. Rick. Seasons greetings to you and your's from the UK 👏👏👍
Thanks so much!! Happy Holidays to you and your family!
quick and very good long shadow result
Thank you!
Hi, could you make a tutorial in which you create a corrugated matte wallpaper (or brick) style canvas in which in the center you have a picture frame (like the starmaps) to which natural light reaches with its respective shadows? please
Amazing! Thank you.
Thank you so much!
Thank you very much!
Hey, crazy request here: could you make a video showing how to get the "diffused light" effect best exemplified by the famous poster for Star Trek The Motion Picture (1979)? I'm certain it can be done with vector gradients, but I can't figure it out. Thanks!
Cool - it's similar to CorelDraw extrude tool. Thanks. Stay inspired!
Thank you!! 😊
This is great! I just wish it were a Live Path Effect, so I could update the shadow more easily...
Thanks so much! Yes, this could be a great Live Path Effect for them to add.
will you teach us about glossy and glow effect
I’ll play around with it. Any example designs you’re looking to make?
no i want to understan how it work in inkescape@@IronEchoDesign
Hi Rick,
I bought a flower from the svg repo site, I added it to the canvas, I made the paint box Alpha, it didn't paint the whole thing, it paints section by section as a space between them. What am I doing wrong, does the object have to be a jpg?
If I learn this method, I will make offset very easily.
Love your videos... You've really helped and inspired me to use inkscape...i primarily use silhouette studio because I've learned how to use it for what i do efficiently... I use a lot of gradients and repeating patterns.
It's it possible to save the gradients to inkscape or do i just have to have a gradient file i add them to?
Thank you so much! Inkscape is fun. I do believe you can save gradient settings. I haven't done it personally but I can check when I'm back in the program. Anybody reading this have the answer and can help?
Hi Rick , I have been trying to create a mockup with an all overprint design on a throw pillow and just cant get it to work. Do you think you could make a tutorial like this for me ?
I’ll see if I can mock something up. There are some masking techniques that may help and work for an easy template.
Nice! What was the need for turning it sideways?
Thanks! The new blur handles only pull straight up/down or straight left/right. I wanted the long shadow to follow the diagonal stretch angle.
SVG’s blur filter has two settings: Horizontal blur strength and vertical blur strength. This means that you can blur an object purely horizontally or purely vertically.
But we want to blur it purely diagonally! So we rotate the object so that the direction we want to blur it in is horizontal, blur it purely horizontally, then rotate it back.
Is there a way to contact you about a design style I’m trying to achieve on Inkscape? Thanks!
Sure! Email over an example at johanson.rick at gmail
I need help with your Madala video 😭
