Lebron is a âMake the right playâ guy regardless of the situation. Wether itâs passing or scoring. So when you think of it from that aspect itâs not hard to believe RJ when he says âLebron is the greatest scorerâ. To put things into perspective even further, throughout Lebronâs entire career majority of the times the right play was for Lebron to score. That and longevity are the reasons lebron has been able to score so much without being considered a âscorerâ
I get it. Itâs the right play dude but guess what? The nice guy finishes last in my books just like with women. KD, Kobe, Jordan, tmac all had that killer take over mentality that Lebron donât have. He got saved by Ray Allen, Kyrie Irving, and wins a Mickey Mouse championship.

He passed MJ 3 years ago tho⊠which was year 14 or 15 for him. MJ played 14.5 seasons of nba basketball and like LeBron hardly ever missed games. @@bjensen 100%. The fact heâs never mentioned with MJ is disrespectful. MJ was definitely more marketable and a bigger star but in regards to just basketball Kareem is right there with him.

@Joe Burrow
I just don't see anyone breaking his record for the remainder of the century...
Letâs put this into context, Jordan is credited w/15 years in the league. Although 2 of those years he played w/the Wizards at 40. And 1 he came back like mid season. Thatâs like 14 and a half. It took Lebron 16 âfullâ years to catch Mike in points!!! Bron is in year 18 and he is still behind in rings even after making it to the finals â10â times?!
10 out of 18 appearances is great cause that means heâs been to the finals more than not
@@Mackaveli3rd then if you take into account that Jordan missed like 64 games in his 2nd season due to a broken foot. Itâs just not close between the two!!! Just imagine had he never retired and played till year 18?! It wouldnât even be an argument!!!
@@Mackaveli3rd Only LeBron fans care about going to the Finals. The only thing that matters about going to the Finals is winning. Itâs a reason nobody cares about how many times West, Magic, Kareem, Kobe been to the Finals, people only care if they won.

I've been asking Chill Gill to just put out on the table to end this Goat đ conversation. Just answer the question, If it was one player in NBA you could give a twenty year contract to coming just coming into the league. Who would that player be????
Thatâs the dumbest shit Iâve ever heard to determine the GOAT.....
Goat James
Youâre saying that to favour lebron now ask that same question but in a 15 year window smh. Iâd rather dominate more in less time
Id say lebron james when he was 18 yo. But for the current players ill give it to Jokic. Can fit to any players given to him. Doesnt have the usage numbers of a lebron or mj but can blend well with any other type of players. Ill give consideration to steph but his health and defense is a concern to me.
I get what RJ is trying to say here but to be 1000% HONEST and as crazy as this might sound - LeBron James isnât even a greater scorer than prime D.Wade - if theyâre both on a team where theyâre both healthy, LeBron will almost always differ to him. Example: 2008 Olympic team, when Wade was healthy and at his peak - he led team USA in scoring while leading all the guards and small forwards in field goal percentage at 67% - In 2011, Wade led the Heat in scoring for the entire post season + NBA Finals with LeBron on his team
It takes a real basketball brain to see what I see, many casuals wonât be able to understand this, scoring comes more naturally for Wade, thatâs why when teams like San Antonio would seal off the paint with Duncan back there and force LeBron to beat them in other ways heâd almost always struggle and shoot lower percentages and would shy away from late game free throws, still does to this day - meanwhile Wade could easily adapt to defenses and take what they give him and if they did the same similar to what Dallas did in 2006 when Wade was just 24, he made them pay in the mid range and relished going to the line, thereâs levels to scoring - Iâm surprised former players donât understand this
The problem is the perception that Lebron is pass first so people give him extra props unfairly over the other known great scorers.
@Ghost2000 Reading is fundamental. If Lebron was pass first he would have plenty of games like Magic Johnson who's definitely pass first and has taking less than 10 shots in a game multiple times. Lebron shoots around 19 - 20 fga per game for a career which are not pass first numbers. It's a false narrative. Him passing a lot in the clutch less than the other players who are considered the upper level of clutch players are facts.
@Ghost2000 Lebron is an excellent passer, but the "pass first" narrative is overblown. :Lebron has always been a great scorer since he stepped into the league.
@Ghost2000 Lebron takes about 19 shots a game for his career. That's not a pass first player.
Lebron plays like a cross between Karl Malone and Scottie Pippen. He dosen't really remind me of Magic or MJ.
while it is true MJ played in fewer games in the playoffs, if we look at how many shots they took...it's almost identical. we either underestimate Bron or overestimate the others like kobe or mj

I swear, sometimes they just sound like pseudo intellects, and what they're saying is just outright silly if you actually think about it. Totals points simply means you played longer. It's a longevity feat. It doesn't make you the greatest scorer.
A man who is a mediocre scorer that averages only 13 ppg, but has unreal longevity and plays for like 35 years, still will be a mediocre scorer, just with a godly longevity. He doesn't become the "Greatest scorer we've ever seen!".
Reggie Miller is not a better scorer than Durant, or Harden just cause he has more total points. He just played longer.
Nor is Karl Malone a better scorer than Michael Jordan just cause he has more total points. We know this cause they played in the same era and MJ won 10 scoring titles while Malone won zero.
Just as Vince Carter isn't a better 3pt shooter than Klay or Dame just cause he has more total 3s. It simply means he played longer.
Just as Mark Jackson isn't a better passer than Magic Johnson just cause he has more total Assists. It simply means he played longer.
Also, yeah we've heard LeBron claim he's a pass first type player all the time. However, if you look at the statistics. LeBron's career FGA per game is the exact same as Kobe's.
13ppg n playing 35 years isnât realistic ur making up dumb extreme examples to prove a false point , stop hating on Bron, ig he wasnât a scorer how did he pass mj 3 seasons ago in playoff points, Malone didnât avg 25+ for 17 seasons 27ppg, ur points r stupid get educated my brother

I agree with his overall point but Bron certainly isn't a better all time scorer than peak Wilt and certainly not MJ who both have him beat in a magnitude of ways except for seasons played
I think that the problem is people keep trying to exclude Lebron from the GOAT convo as if he has no place there. You got people like DR J leaving him off his 2 greatest team list for âbuilding super teamsâ when by definition Dr. J himself was a super team. You got people like Kenny smith leaving saying heâs not a top 10, when half the players Smith listed Lebron has already surpassed. Do I think heâs the GOAT, no. But heâs definitely number 2. Unfortunately this is a situation where I feel he will not get his just due until he finally retires.
@@MrHunt160 yep I can certainly get behind that, while my comment may have came across a bit negative towards him like yourself I also have him as the clear no2 player of all time and by a reasonable gap.

It's amazing how he's like a half a season away from breaking Kareem's all time regular season scoring record in season 20. That's insane.
What I donât understand is when you talk goat they never mention OG Bill Russell the best to ever do it period hands down 11 titles like that shit unheard of and he did all that during a time when racism was at a all time high
The did it when the NBA only had 8 teams, his ring are less valuable.
Consider who you will as you will, opinions are fair. But I agree with RJ; the man is the most consistent and capable scorer or all time. It's not even a question. Even with numerous shortened seasons, he is still on track to be the leading scorer in NBA history. He is already the most prolific scorer in playoff history by a mile. His scoring is incredibly efficient, and at this point, he is dangerous even at the logo. Yes, the highest playoff scorer and the third most prolific scorer ever is in the conversation about the best scorers ever.
Idky why people say kd is the best scorer of all time but then turn around and say mike is the goat.... if mike is the goat and his best attribute by far is scoring how would he not be the best scorer ?
Go watch thinking basketballs break down with LeBron and jordan. That is the most unbiased CZcams channel that breaks down NBA players and even he says Jordan is a greater score

RJ is right. If you will consider debating the G.O.A.T. of Basketball, you will have to put them into categories. It is a team sport, and I think their respective teams should also get some credits for their achievements. Think about this: Jordan is one of the greatest, but he never won anything solo (only his times with Pippen and Coach Phil). Well, Coach Phil won 1 ring without Jordan. The same goes for LBJ and the rest of the other greats. Let us put them into categories. Like you can't say that Jordan is also the best shooter?! An insult to Steph, right? Now, Jordan to me, is the best competitor, the best 1-2 player (Offense and Defense oriented), and the most popular NBA player, globally. But no, he is not the best scorer. That award goes to Kareem (well for now). You can have the best guard, best forward, best center, etc.
So please, stop romanticizing Jordan too much. He never dominated the 80's. He never beat Magic or Bird during their primes. The unblemished 6-0 feat is amazing, don't get me wrong. But beating a 73-9 team and being down 0-3, then winning it all! That is something entirely remarkable. And don't debate me about saying the basis of GOAT are championships won. Bill Russell has 11, so shouldn't Bill be the GOAT?!? Just saying :-)
I had this same argument with someone, and I pointed out that on every team LeBron has ever been on, he has always been the top scorer, and he played with some dominant scorers.
Did he play with KD though?
