  • Myles, the Founder of Tactical Hyve, talks a little bit about tactical style holsters and the tactical holsters many in the industry, including our cadre, like and use.
    If you're getting into tactical training, a tactical holster is a must-have piece of gear.

    Safariland is great but their model listing and product array and descriptions thereof, even with their holster finder, is downright inscrutable. What's this acronym mean and how is it distinguished from this other acronym? No idea! Where do I find out? Somewhere else! How do these models differ? Who can say!?

Pros/cons of various locking mechs vs access speed. Finally - how do I compare kydex holster makers for my setup? It seems that by the time I specify my gun make/model, light and red dot maker I'm lucky to find one if any. It's easier to find a house online to buy than a holster. 🙂

  • @mgamma5001
    @mgamma5001 Před 20 dny

    It's good that you cover the holster, but from what I can see there is so much more to getting a rig and the holster is just one part of it. This is a topic that needs a fully run down and detail about why, what and where. I am now on my second round of purchases as there is not lots of detail on many manufacture sites.
    It would be great to break down a whole system and why you use it. Belt, adapters, connectors, adjustments, use and pro's cons with durability.

      Most don't, you usually have to buy them separately. Also, check out some other leg strap options (we make one - obviously biased) before you get the regular Safariland type. There are way more comfortable options on the market that offer the same, if not better, retention.

      Safariland doesn't make a holster for EVERY pistol with options. Often you'll only find the holster for the pistol itself, and no options. That's just them focusing on providing the most options for the most popular pistols. It costs money for holster molds, so they aren't going to spend money on molds for low popularity combinations.

    Only thing I hate about Safariland is there UI on the website. Their holster finder is absolute garbage. Once you put in the correct brand and caliber, unless it’s an extremely popular one like a Glock. It won’t find it. I have to do a deep dive to find the specific type of holster for my gun on the website.
