your shirt is too tight you have inadequate air cover your glasses are third world but your sling advice is 2099% have a great summer avoid people in sandy areas with punisher hats and mid sized motorcycle gatherings during alaskan winters!!!
any 1 that references fast roping while promoting actual firearms probably works at MEC and lives in his VW
The dry humor out of nowhere really adds entertainment to otherwise very informative video. Love hearing different views on how to manage the whole kit in regards to sling, rifle setup, plates n so on. Thank you!
“You bought the ticket” you get the show. Great explanation on the multiple points to mount on the front. And now my brand new padded sling wishes it was a bungee.
"Anywhere you drag this rifle, I'm going to go." Dave, I'm pretty sure I'm not moving you.
Real world opinions and info, not merely for show, from a battle veteran. Thank you, Dave
A real soldier would have shotgunned 12 cans of _Rip It_ , dealt with the explosive diarrhea, and kept runnin' and gunnin'. Seriously, though, great content.
Ahhh Rip It's. Haven't had one since 2008 lol
How do they make them so you good and sell them so cheap!
Hey don’t you diss my dollar store energy drinks
Ah,the explosive diarrhea…good times,good times-NOT!
😭
Very helpful information. I’m a 61 year old just learning more about AR use . Liked your very sensible delivery.
Nice
I'm in my upper 58 and just started a couple of years ago. Never saw the reason for owning a gun, or two, or three, up to five now and still looking. The government lockdowns really woke me up. Protecting my family is top priority.
@@stevek6427 You're not the only one at that age that had the same awakening. I was indifferent with 2A, neither for nor against it, didn't hunt. 2020 woke me up bigtime. I now have arms behind my blade of grass.
Keep Dave Steinbach content coming. One of the only reasons i watch channel is because of Dave. More content from Dave plz.👍🏽
Great video for us newbies! Lots of valuable stuff right there! Keep ‘em coming. Also, thank you for your service to this great country!
Dang. I needed this training 15 Years ago as a US Army Contractor 💜
I bought a sling that has a loop on it that allows me to sinch it up or extend it quickly just by pulling forward or backwards on the loop. I really like that sling. I'm not storming the gates or anything, but it makes walking through the woods a lot more comfortable. Whether I'm walking, kneeling down on the ground or climbing into a tree stand, the rifle stays where I want it.
@CarbonGlassMan, I know what you mean about the sling. I purchased one for my AR/M4 by colt Bushmaster that I bought years ago as a Deputy Sheriff from a South Carolina Highway Patrolman who also had a FFL and was buying weapons requested by different personnel to sell to them. It had the standard sling with it and I wasn't to happy with it but I said "hey I got my AR that's my first step! I had JUST STARTED to fall into the "Emergency Preparedness" category or, SHTF! Eventually over time as I started upgrading my equipment and my wife's equipment I found a 3 point sling for my AR and for her Hi-Point 995 9mm rifle. (I know a lot of people are gonna say, Hi-Point, what's wrong with you! But in all honesty I owned a 45 from Hi-Point and shot it for years. I eventually over 15 years or so of having this weapon got a "squib", or malfunction where the lead hung up in the end of the barrel! I contacted Hi-Point and shipped it back to them WITHOUT the magazines of course and they called me and said it couldn't be fixed so they were sending me a brand new one! It also had 2 magazines! So anybody out there with ANY TYPE OF HI-POINT, DOESN'T MATTER WHEN YOU BOUGHT IT, THEY HAVE A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THEM NOW!!!!) She was NOT a gun person but slowly but surely I walked her up from a .22LR to the 9mm and she STOP! I'm happy with the 9mm because I can control it and it doesn't have hardly any recoil. I put her a holographic sight on it and with the quick mounts I purchased her a regular scope. She could change it out in a minute or so and I was surprised. Not to mention her shots on paper! Damn that girl was good with that 9mm and could put them in the bullseye 🎯 ring almost every time! The slings were good that I purchased for our weapons but I wish I had found Dave back then because I would have gotten the bungee sling for us! I wasn't a big CZcamsr back then but I turn to it all the time for tips on setting up my chest rig, body armor, experience from "OUR PROFESSIONAL SOLDIERS" that are willing to give us pointers and quick and easy ways to run our gear and the different grips for different weapons and situations! THANKS DAVE AND TACTICAL HYVE FOR GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY, AND FOR YOUR SERVICE TO THIS NATION THAT OWES YOU MORE THAN THEY'LL EVER GIVE YOU!!!!!
Nice video! I loved your work as Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy too btw
Haha, right?
Interesting tips👍
And I REALLY appreciate the fact that you're "to the point" not too long an intro, no off the wall BS.👍
Thanks guys. I definitely don’t feel as guilty now about not training to switch shoulders. Keep them coming!
It's not necessary unless you're in actual military combat or swat clearing buildings.
Me too, never seen a reason for it. I just move positions for bettter angles. I played airsoft (I KNOW) in LA with a bunch of Marines so we did a lot of real steel tactics and gear/gun training. Turns out fundmentals are the same.
Egg mother fucking zactly
The best sling instruction this old soldier has seen, thank you. I remember wishing that old cotton strap was fixed to the side of my M16A1. How about changing mags when the sling is drawn tight? I struggled with that until someone took pity on me in one of FieldCrafts Carbine classes……
Thanks guys
You gotta appreciate not only do guys like this provide good information on the internet, but also served and protected our country god bless
A great vid on 2 pointers. When we went to having an AR in the cruiser we had the single point-which with training is ok-but just ok IMHO. I had it threaded around the top shoulder straps of my plate carrier with a positioned misc pouch in place that the rifle could be placed behind it and keep the weapon ready but out of my way for going to hands on, climbing, fences, etc. Then I got a 2 poing with bungee and loved it. After 30 yrs on duty I gave back my Colt but still had my own AR. I run a bungee 2 point of it, my tac shotguns and my VZ58 or SKS fun gun. Consistency in training by having the same set up on each platform. My son is a career Marine Sgt and corp forearms instructor so I like to see what the 2 point adjustable they are using. I may switch over OR being an old guy may just keep what systems I have to keep the familiarity. Not a big deal, but just like when I was with special units for many years we practiced all the time so each time a scene or fugitive warranted it your rifle was deployed and seconds could count or getting into positions quickly. Im just saying what people that carry weapons for a living HAVE to train all the time with all your gear. Be sure to do the same. Again, great video my friend and thank you for sharing your views and technique on a simple, effective piece of kit. Stay safe.
I personally have gotten away from QD points and now use av universal loop on my BAD rail as far forward as possible and then I have the sling mounted on my stock to the way Dave has it.
i really appreciate the teaching of the techniques and also clarifying on how much they were used during Service 🙌 very interesting and insightful 🙌
Rip it crack in a can
Great information, especially considering the low probability of a civilian scaling obstacles/barriers beyond a 6 foot fence/ wall. Sometimes former soldiers/special forces operators forget that some of us are in or 60s and are not the men we used to be when we served in our 20s. Thanks!
Great pointers from a true pro
Tu Lam taught me all of this on his channel, thanks for the refresher😊 Solid content👌🏾
You know who the true badass is that doesn't talk himself up and say he's trained on everything. This guy seems more down to earth than most of the SMEs on the interweb. I'd drink beer with ya, Ranger, and that's a pretty big compliment coming from me.
Tactical Hyve always with the great info!
1:22 - This is what I needed to know of how to sling weapon, just yet it over one shoulder - just like the way you wear a pt belt without unbuckling it.
Great tips, thanks! Definitely going to add two mounting points to the handguard, then I have 3 technically since there is also the one on the back of the receiver.
Nice to see what we were trained with slings 25 years ago hasn’t changed. Keep up the great content.
Which one's Happy?... Straight-forward and explained well. Thank You.
Great sharing of your specific set-up. At one point in time in the Grunts our Sqd Ldr was telling us to lose our slings because they’ve got no tactical value. I was like WTF?
Love this. To the point and simplicity is key. Guess the Army is still in me lol. I keep all my rifles simple man. Just poking around for a different sling set up and I'm going with your vibe.
I recently came across your CZcams channel, and am impressed by the quality of information you provide, and your no nonsense approach presentations without making them dry.
Recently, I purchased a 12 gauge semi-auto tactical bullpup for home defense on which I'll attach a two point sling. Can I assume that sling setups for an AR platform translate the same over to a tactical shotgun setup, or are there things that need to be taken into account between the two different systems?
I like the bungie ?sp. cord idea. sounds reasonable
Thanks for "sling'n" all that great content our way. Your descriptions of why or why not you do something is super helpful and saves us a lot of time hunting and pecking through the plethora of information out there.
I sincerely appreciate the input. Valuable video to watch, in my opinion.
Great video, you verified my FM9 setup even though I questioned my own rear quick lock position, this really really helped. Thank you…
This man is built like a refrigerator, love the content! Lots of solid practical advise here
Like that STP cap
Best sling video I found, also didn't take 20 minutes to explain things.
I'm new with using a sling on an AR and this was awesome advice for me.
Thank you that is very informative thanks for sharing this video
After years of shooting with using a 3 point in the beginning of my career before moving to a single point, I’ve switched back to the 2 point. IMO, the 2 point is the best option.
One of the best videos on slings on youtube thank you
That’s the way I run slings for my AR’s. I did learn something when you tossed the rifle over your shoulder -Muzzle northward!
Looks/seems simple, but in honesty I never thought of doing it, nor the safety benefit it provides those who may be below you. Very nice and informative content… I appreciate your service!
#salute #2A
Well hell, I really didn't learn a thing for I already do all things he talked about. Not a bad things to watch for someone that is new. The big thing is keep everything simple and quick. Always remember that slow is smooth, smooth is fast.
Thats my favorite configuration, simple, practical. You hit the absolute most important part, the rear attach must go over the top of the butt, so when you drop your left elbow, it tensions and doesn’t pull the butt up and out of position like you demonstrated. I don’t bother shifting the forward attach, i just use the slider as it doesn’t interfere with my front hand routine. tried a single-point on one of my guns, but it is not growing on me, too loosey-goosey… its about to get a new 2point, thanks for reminding me why:)
I can appreciate your point of view, always good to hear other guys setups and why they like it. What was the brand of slings you know with the flat bungee in them?
Great stuff, Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your personal insights as to why you do what you do. May God bless you.
Enjoyed this vid. Good information.
Personally, I used 2 pick up points at the rear of my rifle. The first (which I used the most), was right above the pistol grip. The problem I had with "end of the rifle stock" is when I would displace from one FP to another FP the freaking sling would drop down behind my right bicep, wrap around and I couldn't bring the stock up to shoulder until I got the sling back on top of my shoulder. Granted it only took .5-1 second to clear it and be able to put rounds down range. But having to clear the sling every time I ran from point A to point B is a big problem. And I learned I had to run my right shoulder strap of my carrier "slick" to keep the sling from hanging up on anything. (And slowing me down more) Running the rear pick up point of my sling right above the pistol grip stopped all of this and allowed me to run with my natural gate. So, I could employ my weapon immediately after I reached a new FP. (and I didn't have to run my right carrier strap slick anymore) I know this is just my personal biomechanics. But if it can be a problem for me, it can be a problem for other folks too.
However, Running the front pick up point right in front of the mag well and the rear point right above the pistol grip does NOT control the rifle very well. And the butt stock will be swinging around your face allot. It will probably smack you in the face. So, when I was in places, I didn't expect to employ my rifle I used the rear pick up point like shown in the video. Didn't always work out, and sometimes you just have to deal with it, and move on.
Lesson to be learned- TRAIN! And learn what works for you! And be ok with something that works for other guys NOT working for you!
Great job, probably moving the position of my rear point to what you showed, makes sense. I went with the provided QD in the middle of the stock, not as functional though
I use only a "mid" point front sling attachment on my forearm THEN I slide the adjustment as needed.
I use MAGPUL slings. On the MS4 Gen.2 Dual QD I place elastic "hair bands" around the sling where there are double layers to act as "keepers" and prevent the slide from moving too easily. I have not yet found a use for one point configuration.
I always wondered why some slings are bungied, I never liked how they bounced around while stowed
It would be extremely helpful if you would explain how to attach your sling to the top of your adjustable butt stock. Thank you. 👍
That's the next vid to type in & search. 👍
Thank you for the video it’s very helpful to learn more from professionals and learn more about safety.
Love these videos! Although you guys put out so much info I need to rewatch each one multiple times...
Thank you, very down-to-Earth.
Love that he kept it interesting even though guns are interesting. Love the channel. You just got another sub.
Just started running the two attachment points. Really liked the options and was awesome to see I’m not being stupid!
Late to the show but this is great. Thanks
Bought the ticket, now you get the show. Classic.
Loaded with amazing tips and tricks. Thanks for that video!
You might quite like John Lovell's sling. It would solve that needing more or less room much better than simply moving your sling attachment point.
& yep he's also a ranger.
Warrior Poet Society on the EWWtoob here
Love the idea about the top attachment on the stock. Key!
You know you find several weapons made for the military do that I found that out with an M1 carbine I bought years ago. I love those weapons.
Good video. I’d like to see the stowed sling up close.
What about attaching to the endplate instead of the stock?
I finally got a chance to try moving my sling mount farther forward. I like it good recommendation.
Cool infor, thank you so much
Outstanding info. Thanks! I agree with your thoughts on the bungee sling.
I subscribed because this guy is pretty highspeed and knowledgeable and yes I did learn a lot watching this sht. Thanks man!
This video was Awesome.... Very educational, tips that I really needed! Thanks man
Thank You sir, Jo from Germany, i Need this for Paintball ❤
Thanks for sharing your tips.
another video that I learned something about. keep up the good work and those videos coming
Terrific informative video , great real world applications .what particular brand was that sling in this video ?.
Thank you for all you do and have done 🇺🇸
Please also include sling setup with fixed stock and long barrel, M16, M24, that kinda stuff
Old dog learned something today, thanks. Well explained.
Great Content, No B.S and steady camera work to. Good Information.
great contet, Thanks
Great video!
Great tips, quick & informative video. Take care all!
Thank you sir
Great video. Best sling video I’ve seen.
Some brilliant stuff here. Thank you.
Great information
Great vid. Awesome
Not until this video did I realize I have had my sling not attached to the most optimal spot on the rear stock. If I was still in I’d teach all my guys this and make it SOP
You’re a great teacher. Thank you
Buy the ticket… GET THE SHOW!!!
good gouge. thanks
It all makes sense that usually we don’t think off
Interesting information for someone who has only used heavy leather on hunting type rifles .
Good stuff! I run slings and lights on all 7 AR-15's I own. I'm not an operator just love to shoot. PS brother that mil-spec A2 butt stock has to go. I have 3 different Magpuls ill just give you. Click clak rattle rattle = A2 butt stock.
Thanx for the the info. Going to redo my sling attachment points.
Gotta train weak side transitions if you wanna make the most use of cover if you're dealing with a hallway or alley or other situation where your cover is on your strong side and the bad guy or danger is on the weak side.
Never considered multiple attachments then quick changing them - thank you. Looks like a Vickers?
Holy cow this was informative!
My man makes a 16 inch barrel AR look like an SBR 💪
Nicely Done, Jedi Master!
