Charlie, it seems there are so many ways of making sweet tea. I like to boil 1/2 gallon of water, turn it off, add the sugar (1 cup) stir to dissolve; Add the tea bags (4 or 5 family size), let it steep for five minutes minimum. Remove tea bags, and add that mixture to a half gallon of water. Stir well. There you have a gallon of sweet tea. ❤❤❤❤ I love your way of making it too!

They keep telling me I need to drink more water. I tell them I drink plenty of water, it’s just tea flavored.
When my son makes tea he adds the sugar to the water then he brings the water to a boil shuts the burner off then puts the tea bags in to steep. His tea is very good. I laugh and say it is snowball syrup. Because that is basically how you make the simple syrup. Just lots more sugar then add your flavors. His is not syrup but good ole fashioned southern sweet tea.
Take care Charlie. Enjoyed your video as usual.

When I was growing up my Mom made the best iced tea! She used loose tea leaves that you could buy, the brand was Lipton tea.. she would bring water to a boil, add the tea leaves, cover to steep for an hour. She stranded the tea with a strainer into the tea pitcher, added sugar/ not too much sugar, just enough to sweeten a little bit.. maybe a cup of sugar in a half gallon pitcher/ no more than that cause you’d have tea syrup!!

A quick trick…add the sugar to the tea in the pot when it’s hot. Boom! All dissolved! My daughter in law also adds the lemons into the tea as it cools (after squeezing the juice & adding it to the pitcher). The oils in the rind adds a nice, smoothness to the tea 🫖 flavor!
