It's been nearly 4 years since I saw the guys in concert, and it will forever be the best concert I've ever attended. The only thing that would've made it better is if Jm. J. Bullock would've suavely shimmied out on stage. Marty, when I met the guys backstage after they saw me front row: "Man, you knew every song!" "Well, yeah...that's what a super fan does!" :D
Right? As funny as the video is, it's kind of disappointing because they make him look so bumbling - the guy in the song has his stuff together, whether he's "Barney" or "Bubba"!

One of the few songs I've heard that rhymes "metamorphasize" with "Bubba Hyde." I also find it funny knowing that the youngest person in this video, diamond Rio bassist Dana Williams, turns 60 this year.
Grew up with listening to DIAMOND RIO and now I get to see them next month! Headed to Sacramento for GoldenSky festival! So excited that it’s almost here!
@@QueensWino , true. But the man playing Barney/Bubba (the seriously underrated Jim J. Bullock) is one of the most talented and underused actors of all time, IMHO.

I can still see this girl doing the western swing at dylans dance hall in las vegas... I've never seen a more perfect girl anywhere and she danced so good to this song... She makes Christy Brinkley look like the Tasmanian devil.....
Not really ruined just playing to a younger listeners but it wouldn't hurt to throw in some old country too I'm a lover of all music I have to say this video is in my top ten
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SONG . . . ALWAYS DID, ALWAYS WILL . . . . . . . . . I HAD THAT SAME "ONE'sie" SHE HAS ON, WHEN I WAS 22 (21 yrs later) I MIGHT STILL HAVE IT IN MY CLOSET SOMEWHERE LOL
This.....THIS is REAL Country folks. take notes and write REAL shit and not that crap on the radio these days. Man i'd do anything to be Looped back into the 90's and early 2000's Country. well , i guess i have Accu-Radio for that. Oh and that girl , OMG !!! i'm in love all over again !!!
Hai karate!! When did they stop making that? The 80's?? Heard this today on a country station somewhere in Alabama on US231 heading south toward Dothan. Never heard it before!! What a great song!! Not very often you can find a classic country station while trucking around the Midwest. Just that crap they play today. Every song sounds the same. Oh well. 🤧🤧🤧
I met them at our local festival here in town called the catfish festival. I worked the stage they played on I helped Marty Roe work on his tour bus generator. How many people can say they done that.
This is why I loved 90’s country
Hey y'all still at
Jim J Bullock was the absolute PERFECT person to be the “Barney Jekyll / Bubba Hyde”. He was hilarious. And the guys 90’s mullets are also a smash! 😂😂
Hey beautiful is this your help

I’ve seen these guys 3 times in concert!! Once I think on my birthday!! They were so good! I miss the traditional sound the 90s country had
YES cause todays country music SUCKS

I just saw them Saturday night in W. Fargo, N. Dakota! Still amazing after all these years!!
This song will never get old. I could listen to it all day long and be happy as a big in a rug
Hey beautiful is this
Hey y'all are going out for the 😊
The director of this video couldn't have found anyone better than Jim J. Bullock to play the part of Bubba Hyde.
Much love from Mobile Alabama.
I didn't think about that, 'til I read your comment...
Agreed
I can't remember when I laughed harder 😃
He
The guy is great. Made me laugh so hard when he put the bowling ball bag over his head!
Fun song. I really dig Dan Truman's piano playing on this track.
These songs by Diamond Rio are classics, it's a shame they are not more well known.
Seriously, 💯 when everyone had actual talent and personality… it’s long, long, gone
Lts 😢
Diamond Rio was and is, so underrated. Still listening to them in 2018
yep, im w you man. i was in high school when all this was hsppening, great music
They belong in the *Country Music Hall of Fame*
Unreal harmonies. Great musicianship.

God I miss the 70, 80s, and 90s, could read those lips from a mile away
Hey y'all are a
But I don't know
If we only had more guys like Barny
I am so jealous of all them fantastic mullets. Just look at em. Fan damn tastic.
I always played this getting into my 1978 Trans Am on Friday nights. Set the mood, and I was ready for catting around..
Did it have zebra skin seat covers though? 😃🍺
The great thing about cheesy 90s country music is that it embraced the MTV era and rock 'n' roll while maintaining the tradition of story telling.
The more of their music that I hear, the more I love Diamond Rio.

Mry😢😢
Absolutely love this song. I was hoping to see a little more of the super sport Malibu and the book mobile though, lol
😂listened to it 🤣 gone down the dirt trail 😮in my chariot
💕 Love it.dimond rep is great.
Man I love this band!!!!! ❤️👏🏻🎤🎶
Even if he never opened his mouth, but he does a great job, they get down.

One of the greatest groups ever
JJBullock made this video everything it is. That man was a gem of slapstick comedy
Dannykirchar6939
The video isn’t how I imagined him. The song portrays him as a cool guy, with an awesome life to me. He works hard and plays hard. Has it together
Love it brings back memories

Classic song and band, god I miss these days

Slaps on his Hai Karate after shave
Puts on his Elvis jacket custom-made
Gets in his patent leather zebra boots
Fires up his super sport Malibu
He burns the rubber 'cross the county line
A honky tonkin' fool till closing time
You ought to see him metamorphosize
From Barney Jekyll into Bubba Hyde
Monday morning it's a suit and tie
Attention shoppers there's a two-for-one buy
Tuesday afternoon he mans the wheel
Makes his round in the bookmobile
He's got a Wednesday night canasta game
Thursday's the tourney at the bowling lanes
His friends would freak out if they only knew
The party animal he turns into
Slaps on his Hai Karate after shave
Puts on his Elvis jacket custom-made
Gets in his patent leather zebra boots

254 people have no idea, what country music sounds like.
Now these are the country songs that were unique, unlike your typical Lost my wife, truck, got drunk and my dog left me for a cat.
One of the few songs I've heard that rhymes "metamorphasize" with "Bubba Hyde."
I also find it funny knowing that the youngest person in this video, diamond Rio bassist Dana Williams, turns 60 this year.
I don't think Eminem could've done that.
With any luck they'll keep playing!
Brings back so many memories of the era. Love it... GO BUBBA HYDE!!!!!
Grew up with listening to DIAMOND RIO and now I get to see them next month! Headed to Sacramento for GoldenSky festival! So excited that it’s almost here!
Great band can't get this song out my head
You say you needed to hear it again lol
Feels good to be from Nashville when you hear these classics.
Tera Petty I agree. Love this old country music. But to me it’s just country music. Not some of this new stuff
LOVE OLE COUNTRY! Brings me back to when I was born on it in 1985

But in a good way.

This song was in the Spring 95. The song is called "Bubba Hide" and at the ending of the chorus Marty sang "Yes Sun".
Congratulations you made a useless statement.
Get outlook to go
Hey beautiful is
I saw this video when it first came out, it's still brilliant..........
I miss real country. wtf has happened
it got commercialized
TEEN GIRLS STARTED CONTROLING THE MUSIC MARKET...
CEOs and MONEY
I think people started disliking it. But there are still fans on REAL country
Simple. Cowboys stopped singing and a bunch of pu$$!es took over.

They were one of my favorite groups! I saw them live twice and it was just like listening to them on your home stereo.
When you live with the name “bubbahyde” your whole life because of this song lol I can’t tell you the last time my parents called me “Aaron” 😂
