💑 About Hercules Candy
Hercules Candy has been on Steve’s side of the family since 1910(ish). When he took over in the 70’s, he anticipated after 10 years of hard work, he could move the business out of the basement and into a real storefront. Unfortunately, it took until 2018 for that to happen, but hey at least it happened! Steve and Terry own the shop, Craig (the social media manager) is their son, Cara (wrapper and shipper extraordinaire who is poised to take over the shop one day) is their daughter and Leah (who doesn’t love being on camera and is very elusive) is their oldest daughter. Karen has been working for Hercules Candy since the twins (Craig and Cara) were about 6 months old and everybody else is a new recruit. Don’t forget to subscribe and hit the 🔔 for more videos!

Lethia Page, Caramel is white sugar cooked until it turns brown, You can use brown Sugar to make caramel icing for cake.

Wow- I wish my dad and I could have shared a box of these before he passed- this would have been EVERYTHING he loved! He lived for that old fashioned flavor ‘molasses’- plus peanut butter- omg over the top! Then ribbon candy was such a nostalgic treat for him every Christmas if we could even find it. How super special!

There are several flavors of molasses sorghum, blackstrap, ribbon cane, sugar cane, and corn syrup
Hickory smoked sea salt is so good on chocolates!! If you won’t do bacon, try smoked salts!

What if instead of curling the filled Candy into a Ribbon you placed that flat piece in the Candy cutter. Wouldn't it seal the filling in?
It wouldn't be the traditional ribbon candy. It would be a filled hard candy.

I DO bake my bacon......it does not make a mess at all that way, and your sales to the south would increase greatly if you did added bacon or at least the flavor.......you don't have to cook it yourselves. You can buy it already cooked and chopped, etc.....but do NOT use those nasty fake bacon bits!! Bacon is super popular all over! Not everyone is vegan or wants vegan stuff. lol. We have a famous donut shop in Memphis that does a maple bacon donut that is to die for and extremely popular!! I have a lot of friends all over the country who Love bacon and bacon flavor, especially combined with sweet.

I’m a bit late to the bacon candy conversation, but the reason why bacon does splatter so much is because it’s artificially pumped up with water. It’s sad and it feels like it’s criminal, but a large percentage of the weight of the bacon can be water. It’s easy and much cheaper to just make your own! Also I love you guys. Your family is so great. Someday I’ll have to order your candy too.

Candy creams are usually creamed sugar, not candy made with cream, iirc.
Couldnt you use dried bacon bits and just grind them in a grinder and use as a powder
