You cannot have a 24-hr economy with low incomes and essentially low aggregate demand. Even in America, very few cities have things running 24-hours. There are cities in America in which most thing shut down after 5 pm. These people are throwing down buzz words to delude the people.

24 hr economy is just a political power wielding talk. What are the fundamentals for such a policy? How would you implement it? Singapore was successful through the ff: Safety, Quality infrastructure, highly skilled competent, honest and hard working labour force, effective transport and communication system, effective fintech, enabling business environment, creation of vibrant global cities with youthful demographics. simplification of documents for investors, digital infrastructure, and effective regulation.

This guy is all talk and rhetoric. Every economy is based on aggregate demand. We don't have work schedule throughout the day because there is no demand for such services. You cannot just say you are going to have critical government outfits run 24 hours while there is no demand for the services. The police force already have a 24-hour schedule because there is always demand for security regardless of the time of the day. Sammy Gyamfi does not have a clue what he is talking about. He is into clichés and buzzwords. He talks about an "enabling environment", but he does not explain how they are going to achieve that. Mahama was President for 6 years, and never did this. Is he now seeing something we all do not see? These people have nothing to offer just like the current government. However, it is a fact that Mahama left $40 billion economy that the NPP has grown to almost $70 billion.

The 24-hr economy, or work schedule is in the country already. The hospitals, Police, Fire Service, Hotels, some factories, major transport stations have booming 24/7 businesses, and many deep shafts mining companies. I worked at the Ashkar Plastic Factory as a part time / student vacation worker in 1973. it was located at the Abavana Junction, Kotobabi in Accra. I worked the nighty shift for two months. That company was just one of the plethora of factories in Ghana. Government did not legislate the idea into operation, however, government , which was the "revolution" swept away all those businesses with its witch hunting broom, "the revolutionary justice." I suggest, therefore that JDM rather create the conducive environment to revive the factories and businesses without reviving the "Dumsor,"

If you were working in 1973, then you must be an old man. Sir, you are talking about dumsor as if JM decided to shut all the power plants and wanted people to suffer. The country has suffered dumsor from Rawlings till now. But his tenure was met with aggravated situation due to lack of investment by successive governments. As a leader, he took the blame and solved the problem. For your information, NPP has added less than 100mega watts of power within 16 yeas. Rawlings added 550mega watts to what Nkrumah left, and JM added 2000mega watts to our power. That's what dumber Akuffo and his clueless team were complaining about and now enjoying it. To me, NDC has developed the country far better than your NPP, given the resource envelops. I know you agree with your head.

Instead of focusing on basic job creation for the unemployed youth and developing methodologies for private businesses to startup and employ Ghanaians, you’re talking about a government solution. You cannot run even one shift when you don’t have the factories setup. Running a 24-hour economy comes at the end of establishing significant number of businesses and factories, not in the beginning.

John Mahama should embark on comedy tour with all his jokes. An Economy evolves to become a 24 hr one due to general economic advancement spearheaded by massive industrial growth with innovation in all sectors. No sensible leader will promise that as a campaign message. Can someone remind him that surgeons were using touch lights for surgery due to his 4yrs of dumsor. Electricity is the bloodline of every economy and this man did not even recognize the criticality of that. Practically all business got crashed to the ground during his administration because of dumsor. We say 24 hour economy , which on a good day is excellent as theoretically it implies more people will be employed but have we asked whether there is the market for all that will be produced , what is the government going to do to creat business outside our borders to increase sales and export…non of the parties are saying anything of the sort. This has always been the problem of third world countries, our ministers are so lazy they don’t bother going out to look for proper business for the country
