The reason I'm most excited for the draft is that instead of getting several segments a week asking if Dallas should draft a quarterback, we'll get several segments a week asking if they should have.

Like 👍: Dave needs permanent seat. I know Joy is pretty, but she talks in generalities too much. James just talks up Rodgers. Shady is better with opposition. Dave vs Shady used to make Speak! 🗣️ He’s a nice balance. A legit reporter with knowledge and humility. Wish Dave had a permanent seat which he earned. Com'on Joy, we also have never had the conversation of a supposed MVP level QB, with a roster which (for the third time) went 12-5, losing in the WILD CARD ROUND! And as bad as the Defense played, lets remember that this is the 3rd strait season the Cowboy's playoff run ended with Dak putting up an absolutely DOG WATER performance.
So something isnt adding up. And you cant say its a roster issue, and that Dak "hasnt had the weapons,or tools"

Lofton mentioned it briefly, I really believe the Jones want to see what they have in Trey Lance. If he shows some progress in training camp and in the pre season, that would be a good indicator on how to proceed with Dak.
That’s exactly what they are doing. If Lance looks good in camp and preseason, Dak plays on his last year deal. If Lance don’t look good then yes they likely will extend Dak. They aren’t drafting a qb because they specifically said that Lance is their draft pick for this season and they like his chances
The problem with what James said in the beginning,the Cowboys have done exactly what he said. they have reloaded. They have retooled. They’ve moved off all pro wide receivers to a new one. pass rushers lbs rbs coaches you name it through the 17 years. we’ve gotten above average quarterback, playing the regular season and they’ve grossly underachieved in the postseason, with all that being said, it’s time to take a quarterback. I don’t know where that quarterback is , he may not be in this draft but it’s time to take the quarterback position seriously.
1989 was the last time we drafted a first round quarterback and that’s also the last quarterback we won a Super Bowl with.
They don't need no quarterback , especially when u got a all pro on the roster they need to fill holds in that roster and see what they got in trey lance , I wouldn't get rite of Dak but if they go that route u do it after next year , u let trey play a year and if Dallas is bad u do everything u need to do to grab Archie Manning son in the draft .. it's a shame tho that every QB in the league except mahomes and recently Matt Stafford can get to the playoffs every year and lose and dont be all pro or have better stats then dak and we hear nth about get rite of him it's just all praise ! After next year his cap hit goes down so by the time your rookie QB is ready to get that contract extension Daks cap hit is gone and you already paid your other players and now you can pay your QB what he wants and move forward
Cowboys draft a QB who ends up taking Daks place. Therefore forcing Dak to forfeit his no trade clause, getting more in return 💡

The Jones said they aren’t drafting a qb this season. They spent a draft lock on Lance who they like. So I don’t know why analysts and fans keep talking about drafting a qb when the Jones have specifically said it’s unlikely

What does that make Dak, if they had 8-9 all pros, and majority of his 8 yeae career, he had a top 5 OLine, RB, and at least 1 top 7 WR, sometimes 2.
