Looking forward to getting one of these. I think you missed out a very very important point: the new EF to RF speedbooster allows you to take advantage of full-frame EF lenses on the C70’s Super 35mm sensor! The adapter can apparently "squeeze the entire full-frame image from EF lenses onto the 4K Super 35mm image sensor of the C70, while simultaneously increasing sensitivity by one stop as it gathers more light" Thats a big deal!! We already own 2 C300 Mark III's and we've been wondering if to replace one of them with two of these but I actually really love the form factor and extra features I get with the C 300 Mark III. So if budget was not an issue for a church I'd definitely recommend picking up the C300 Mark III over the C70. However having said that... Once I get my hands on the C70 in December and get a feel as to how it fits in our production work flow then I might change my mind :-)

Great video! Man this camera looks incredible!! ive been wanting to jump more into video, I got the EOS R last year for photos so I have a couple of RF lenses already and I didn't know what to look at for video so have been chatting with the team at canon on their live chat and they recommended the C70 and that's how I found your video! this camera is right up my street!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the camera. You spoke about CLog3 to Rec709 then HDMI out. Are custom LUTs an option out of the HDMI? Say you prepare a certain look for a venue and what to standardize across cameras. Thanks!

What camera do you recommend for a dedicated live stream set up in this price budget? We are starting blank and will only use the camera for streaming. What do you think of he Panasonic bgh1? Seems real good for live stream?

ok Jake so Red Rocks use a c200 sending hdmi out with clog3 and rec 709 lut. Does the camera has the rec 709 lut preset already in it or do we need to upload the lut on it or are they applying the lut on the video switcher on individual inputs or over the whole program feed? Thanks

Thanks for posting this. I'm strongly considering selling/trading my current C200 for this camera. Admittedly the C200 is a gun camera for our church, however, the C70 is a much better proposition for my wedding videography business.

They already have the speed booster for the rf mount. They include it with the R camera, and they have a normal one, one with a control ring, and one with a nd holder.

One of the things my Church is concerned with is the fact that our sanctuary is bigger and our cameras would be located more than 50 feet from our switcher. Because of that, we have only been looking at cameras with SDI outputs. We didn't think that converting the video in real time/ using a HDMI Wireless system was going to be fast enough/ low latency. What are your thoughts on converting signal, what are the downsides of that?

    • @Churchfront
      @Churchfront  Před 3 lety +2

We are using an HDMI fiber cable that is about 100ft and works fine. Just search them on Amazon and try it out.

Use the Teradeck ace 500 hdmi for wireless, it's 0 latency

Look out for the Canon C90 in 2021 - word is it will be similar to the C70 = C300 iii as in it will have the same sensor as the C500 ii in the miniature form factor with no RAW - so C50 = C200 sensor no raw, C70 = C300 iii sensor no raw, C90 = C500 ii sensor no raw.

R5 does not overheat when live-streaming. It is not like it can live-stream in 8K or 4K 120 FPS.

Your money will go a lot further with a PC and if you spend the same amount as you would on a Apple you will get so much more than a apple can provide. Also if you can build your own computer its definitely worth it and really not very hard. This will start a lot of argument but I am coming from a professional background working with all OS. However on the end of the day get what you are most comfortable with using!

      Sony a7s3 over C70:
      REAL RAW, not compressed..
      Full-Frame sensonr.
      2000$ less
But hey, It depends on YOUR needs.
To me - C70 is not a better choice for churches. Why waste donated money ;)
I understand - C70 has it's own strenghts, but not for 2000$ extra.
