    Great Show! It's funny, only 9 or 10 months ago, I was having to switch off your channel or speed advance the timeline to get down to the brass tacks. But after listening more and more have learned so much about the different technologies and feature sets with the various scopes its really an education. Now I almost felt like wow why are you guys stopping now the night's still young :-) Not sure if I'll be in the market for this scope any time soon or not. But 100% whenever I buy any thermal or night vision scope I'll be looking your direction to buy. Keep up the great work!

    $18K price tag 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I didn’t even bother watching the video. Lucky you who ever can afford this👍

      @Backwoodsmachinist Před rokem +2

      How many people buy a 27000 dollar side by side with air conditioning etc etc. People can afford alot more than what they think, if they want it bad enough

      That’s a really good point. I saw a local dealer post a $35,000 side by side on a hunting forum classified page recently and he sold it in 15 mins and had guys complaining they missed it. 😳

    @roweETX Před rokem +3

    Sweet thermal! Glad to see the price point. Like you guys, I had been hearing rumors of prices in the $25k and up range... Still not in my budget, lol, but maybe one of these years.

    • @TheLateNightVisionShow
      @TheLateNightVisionShow  Před rokem

      Exactly, we were told $22-$25k a few months ago and they really worked to get the price down. It’s still out of reach for 99% of night hunters but it exists and it’s going to the future!

  • @eastcoastthermals
    @eastcoastthermals Před rokem +8

    As great as the image is on 2x the reality is most predator hunters will be at 2x zoom to get to 4x. Thats nearly having the Halo XRF in base mag and the same 640 image. We are taking a half of a power. No f-ing way on any planet in the galaxy that is worth an extra $8.5k. Not to me tion the laser will not be the military grade version on the XRF. Not to memtion the two 18650’s in the Halo are still better. The thing that makes me wonder is the funky mount that has a trampoline spring in it🤔. Let the rich Guinea pigs go first and eat that turd when they go to resell it. If it was a 3.5/4x base 1280 that be a big difference. It just reminds me of those Pulsar XP50’s everyone pay a premium for 2x. What a rip. If you ask me all this does is justify that N-Vision price tag and make more people go with an American made premium optic.

  • @goingdark1187
    @goingdark1187 Před rokem +1

    So here is the thing. If you buy a 640pixel scope with base mag of 4x or 5x....you will identify and down the exact same amount of animals but be spending $5k or less. Then you argue, well but it has also a wide field of view, fair enough. But you can just get a second wide field of view scope. Again, you pay a further $5K and you down the same amount of animals. Sure, you won't have the 1200px image at 2x base mag and will need to carry a second scope in case you are hunting dogs and pigs in the same night, but is that worth a further $8k? I think we will sell about 20-30 units in whole of Australia to those guys who just want the most expensive because they can. Thanks for the review boys, we should get a demo unit soon and maybe I'll change my mind then 😉 Happy Hunting

    I’ll go one step below prostitution for this scope

  • @RiflemanReveiws
    @RiflemanReveiws Před rokem

    I’d agree with you that it is good for the market, but it really doesn’t drive competition to lower prices until the new technology is sold at a lower price . At 18k you can buy 2 top tier 640 scopes for that. Prices only begin to drop when people start making the choice to buy the 1280 over the top tier 640. As priced right now, The 1280 creates a new bracket in the market and challenges competitors to innovate but won’t likely lower prices on the current 640 units until the price on the 1280 is lowered significantly.

    • @TheLateNightVisionShow
      @TheLateNightVisionShow  Před rokem

      That’s absolutely correct. Prices on 640’s aren’t dropping now because of 1280 but more manufactures will create 1280 or 1024 scopes and they will compete on price. When 1280 is $12,000-$14,000 people buying $8,000-$10,000 thermals have to consider it. And as that happens those 640 prices have to drop (or image/features improve) and then downward pressure it put on the market. We’re not talking about pride drops in the next 12-18 months but in 2-3 years it could be significant. It will be interesting to see no matter what! Thanks for watching.

    Did you say a 30hz frame rate for $18K?!? I'm no expert by any stretch so I gotta ask. Does it lag? Does increasing pixel density mitigate lag? ... asking for friend. 🙂

    • @TheLateNightVisionShow
      @TheLateNightVisionShow  Před rokem

      We saw absolutely no lag and we were under the impression it was 50hz the first few weeks we used it. When we saw the spec sheet saying 30hz we thought it was a mistake. We consider it a non-issue unless you’re helicopter or high speed buggy hunting, neither of which are common hunting methods for the avg hunter. A 60hz refresh rate on an optic like this would likely increase the price by THOUSANDS of dollars.

    I looked at buying one of these scopes from a company in China for $12k in January, but during the process they ceased all communication and their site went down.
    I thought it was a scam, but it ends up that iRay must've bought them out.
    I wanted to be the first civilian to hunt with a 1280 core scope, but was foiled by those dam teenagers at iRay Again !
    The scope looked like a Burris BTS, but with two 18650 batteries to power it.
    I ended up buying a Halo X50 and am more than happy with it.

    • @TheLateNightVisionShow
      @TheLateNightVisionShow  Před rokem +2

      It was probably a scam because this is IRay’s very own sensor technology, they didn’t buy anyone out to get this sensor. They’ve had this sensor for sale in the US for about a year and a half for $29,999 but it’s not attached to a scope and it’s literally just the sensor. Thankfully the price has come down.lol

    • @shoots1004
      @shoots1004 Před rokem

      @@TheLateNightVisionShow Probably was a scam as it didn't look like the iRay scope, but it had the same model number and specs.
      This scope is way out of my price range for a china made scope, but maybe it'll bring some other manufacturers into the ring.
      Looking forward to your future reviews in better weather.

      It’s going to be awhile. We literally had one of the only one of these units in the world to test and we’ve got to wait a good while to get our own unit to keep and hunt with. It’s coming but it won’t be soon enough. 🥲

  • @baalzamon3593
    @baalzamon3593 Před rokem +1

    I think I'll stick with my RICO MICRO RL25. The sensor is nowhere near as good as this, but it's small enough to pocket carry and helmet mount.
    I could be enticed into upgrading. I'd love to have something nice enough to make my current optic a backup. But it'd need to be better than my current optic in almost every way. Or a dedicated helmet or rifle mount, but I'm probably capped at about $6k

    • @TheLateNightVisionShow
      @TheLateNightVisionShow  Před rokem

      I think it’s probably too large to use as a dedicated scanner. And this is the kind of image quality you want to shoot with, it’s just amazingly good. But, I like the way you’re thinking….a 1280 scanner for super long range detection and ID’ing would be amazing!

    really looking at this and other infiray products, the biggest holdup is manufacturing in china, at this price point and for most of there products us manufacturing would be in the ball park, NVision does it. I'm not happy that 1280 sensors are being manufactured in china, maybe they're not but for something this level of technology, I'd want to keep it as far from China as possible, the CCP could easily have these manufactured for them instead. Hopefully I'm wrong about the origin of these products, but any new technologies like these should be developed and manufactured in the US when possible.

    • @TheLateNightVisionShow
      @TheLateNightVisionShow  Před rokem +2

      This technology is available in a US made sensor and from what we’re being told the price would $30,000+ and the scope would be much larger than any scope on the market. We’d love to see N-Vision make a 1280 scope but unless there are several hundred people willing to plop down close to 2x the cost of the iRay 1280, I don’t see that happening for a long long time. I fully expect to see more 1024 and 1280 scopes hit the market before one comes out with a US made sensor. Until Americans are willing to pay 2 or 3x more, it just won’t happen.
      Like it or not, China is and has been winning at the small electric technology game for decades. iPhones, Androids, computers, TV’s and 95% of the other products we use on a daily basis are made there. Even our “American made” trucks have huge portions of them, including all of the electronics that were made overseas. It’s the world we live in and sadly I don’t see it changing.
