Uhh....you never pay to the fridge in TS2. You literally have to either order groceries on the phone/online or go to a grocery store to buy food to stock your fridge. As long as the fridge is stocked, sims just take ingredients out and start cooking and once the fridge runs out it'll pop the notification "Stomack growling? Restock the fridge by ordering groceries over the phone or online." And untill you do so, you cannot cook....or eat snacks. How ever; different foods require a different amount of stocked ingredients, so even if you can't cook stuffed turkey, you might still get couple of servings of juice, before the fridge is totally empty. TS3 unfortunately lets you pay the fridge, but the ingredient system is very different too; every meal has spesific ingredients and unless you have all of the required items in the fridge inventory, you'll need to either pay for them to the fridge or collect/buy them elsewhere.

Honestly I feel like grocery shopping with your Sim could be super fun, especially if you could do something like ride your horse to the grocery store in a ranch town. I'll be honest, I cannot stand the sims AI and it's why I don't play often. I lose my mind with more than one person in a house because they can't exist on their own (even with ai enabled). I play the game to make stories and it just isn't a good format for it, at least not for me, since they just dont behave reasonably. My one Sim impulse buying a goat was really funny though. I'm afraid to log onto the world because I got a message saying the animal would die soon, despite aging turned off for animals. Otherwise I'd be inclined to mess with that household again

The plate can also be in an inconspicuous shelve in the living room, right in between the two decorations you placed, thinking it would prevent them from putting a GODDAMN PLATE THERE
Happened to me recently: my sims have assigned beds but decide to nap (not sleep) on the couch or ottoman in the room with their assigned bed instead...

Just saw a Sims playthrough where the toilet was broken, so for days the Sims would constantly just pee in themselves and bathe afterwards instead of getting someone to fix the toilet.
I had a good laugh when i discover that it is possible to send your sims to go jogging while they are eating and they'll do both things at the same time🤣🤣
Need to make one with multiple Sims, so when you all go to eat at the table you sit down for half a second before 1 will get up to go sit on the couch and watch tv, one won’t eat at all..staring into the abyss and they other leaves to laugh and clap looking at the flower vase on the dresser. 😆

they updated it few time ago ! if you click on your sinks you can choose if it's a kitchen sink or a bathroom sink ! :)
