    Long beds may be a little rougher empty, but you'll appreciate the longbed when you pull a heavy load. My dad and I hauled a load of hay on a trailer with his F350 short bed; but the trailer was a better fit for a dually, and it was more bumpy than when we hauled a 150HP tractor on our smaller trailer, and certainly more bumpy than an empty Ram 3500 longbed.

    It’s not gonna ride worse because of a longer wheelbase. Just the opposite. The harsh ride is gonna be from it being a 1 ton vs 3/4 ton

      JohnDeere/CatFan98 Sorry if my post was confusing. You are correct in stating that the Mega Cabs are only available in the short bed configuration from the factory. I was just curious to know if the review he did prior to this video was a crew cab long bed, because if it was, the wheelbase on that truck would be longer than the Mega Cab, that was just reviewed, by 9 inches.

    Noticed the ram air has a different intake vent than last gen. The primary looks like it is vented in via a scoop in the grill, vs a hole next to the passenger headlight. I also noticed some new fender bracing under the hood.

    Sadly I think I'll have to bow out of new truck market with the escalating prices. My wife and I make a solid middle/upper class living and looking at $800-$1200 a month payments isn't realistic. I've even seen used 2016 Ram 2500 going for the price of new 2018 $54k Longhorn Laramie. Crazy. Which isn't a bad price but last one available kinda thing. I guess people are buying them. Won't be us in that payment bracket.
    So we've set our sites on something with enough torque and hp to tow a trailer. For ME that starts at a 2010 Ram 2500 with 350hp and 650 some odd torque. Good enough for us.

    • @AkioWasRight
      @AkioWasRight Před 5 lety

      Why consider a Laramie Longhorn if price is an issue? That's the top of the line model. Besides, it's never the last one available. There's always new trucks to sell you.
      I say this because I actually think the used truck market is where craziness is at. To get a significantly lower price, you have to look at 10 year old trucks, but you should still expect to spend $20+ on a truck. I understand people can only afford what they can afford, but you certainly don't buy used for the value.

    • @robertoterriquez2132
      @robertoterriquez2132 Před 5 lety +1

      If you keep an eye out and are willing to buy out of state, you can find some good deals. Back in 2016, I bought a 2016 RAM 2500 Laramie with the 5.7 Hemi. It had 4400 miles on it; practically new. I bought it for 42K. The truck was in Burnsville Minnesota. I flew over there and drove the truck back to California. It took me about 29 hours to drive it home. My payments were $675 at the time. I am a Ford guy but, once I looked into the RAM 2500, I started respecting and liking RAM. I am waiting for another opportunity like that to get the 2019 RAM 2500.

      Good to know. I see 2500 Laramie with the 6.7 diesel going for $49k which is ok. However, I believe the latter part or fourth quarter 2020 will be a banner year for the truck market.
      Ram will have matured with this generation, Toyota will come out with their all new Tundra and I expect Ford & Chevy to step up to their game. They won't have a choice.
      Also getting back to your point there will be some GREAT deals on 2019 Rams to make room for the new refreshed Ram.
      It'll be a very good year.

      When AEV releases its new gear and wheel module, you can run lower tire pressure. When you’re aired up to 65 in the front and 75 in the rear, the truck is going to ride like you’re tires are made of rocks. I have a ‘13 Limited on 37’s. I run 55 psi in the front and rear and it rides smooth like butter! Think of tires as part of your suspension. You can have the best shocks in the world, but 65-75 psi is gonna feel terrible. Also, 1 ton springs are a little stiff to begin with.

    Unbelievable this cummins/Aisin combo is being offered in a consumer truck. So overkill to say the least. Pound for pound the most powerful production pickup truck in the world(drivetrain pedigree). effectively a semi truck for personal use.

    Overall good video, thanks for sharing but if I could add some constructive feedback...... you’re hitting all of the key points but doing it VERY quickly, rushing thru the detail. Also the camera when you’re “showing” a feature doesn’t fully focus on it or you move past it to fast...you get in the general area but again don’t spend enough time for us to see what you’re trying to highlight. This again makes it seem as if you’re rushing thru the video. I understand trying to make a short, informative video, reducing watching time, unload time, etc but I think you’re loosing the quality of your offering. Just my humble opinion. Again, thanks for sharing!

    You shouldn't be reviewing vehicles if you really don't understand wheelbase? The longer the wheelbase the better high-speed-stability & smoother the ride (also the wider the turning ratio). The shorter the wheelbase (Like a jeep) the better the traction/rougher the ride. Reason being is a short wheelbase increases the geometry of suspension travel allowing a better ability for the suspension to adjust and grip terrain. That's why sports cars tend to have a longer wheel bases, comparative to their overall size, because a sports car needs to balance high-speed-stability (why dragsters are a mile long) to traction, which they often overcome with wider tires, slip-differentials & all-wheel drive etc... Jeeps, atv's & many SUV's on the other almost ALWAYS have short comparative wheel bases for traction & maneuverability. They also tend to have really tight turning radiuses & can ride a bit rougher than a common car/truck. That's why the wrangler unlimited 4dr rides so much better that the regular wrangler with the shorter wheelbase.
