    Great video! Nice flat top!
    I just purchased the Camp Chef Denali 3 burner 90,000 BTU stovetop. I just added the griddle top option for the poor man's griddle. I love it! This is way better than BBQing! RIP Napoleon Portage!
    Anyone looking at investing in a BBQ....do not do it! A griddle or an outdoor stovetop from Camp Chef is a better option for cooking outdoors. The versatility is incredible. Look at the creation of that pizza burger! I love to see a bbq do that!
    Thanks for the great video and the inspiration to think outside the box!

    Damn I almost drowned in drool. I would have grilled some jalapenos for the win. Another thing I do is put mayonnaise on the buns before grilling them which makes them toast up great and softens them and just makes them magical. I typically make Oklahoma onion smash burgers that are also the bomb. CZcams those if you don't know about them. They are on the weekly rotation plus I grind my own meat and use brisket fat I save off my briskets. So beefy tasting.

    Hey, I have the Pro 90x with the 2 burner griddle, I have difficulty with hot spots over the burners, did you notice this with your Pro 90x setup? Is that why you switched to the FTG? Kinda wish I went that way but I wanted the versatility of portable camp stove.

    • @BrianEibner
      @BrianEibner  Před 5 lety

      Does the two burner griddle have the plates welded to the bottom? If not can you raise up the griddle a bit with some mental spacers? I haven't used the Pro 90x for a while, last time was with the pizza oven. Have you watched my "Camp Chef Flat Top Grill FTG600 July 2018" I do show the backside of the griddle.

    • @charleysev8336
      @charleysev8336 Před 5 lety

      Ya, the backside of your FTG600 griddle has a large rectangular diffuser plate, whereas mine has two circular plates, one over each burner. I might try raising the griddle a bit and adding a couple FT10 plates for additional diffusion. If that doesn't work I'm going to see if I can modify my Pro 90x, like remove 2 of the circular 30,000 BTU burners and replace with straight 12,000 BTU FTG style burners.

      The reason for it gives time for a puddle of grease to form then the ball is smashed in to that puddle. Results are great grill contact creating a wonder "crust/flavor/texture to your burger. So tasty 😋, give it a try. Thank you for watching and commenting.

    • @BrianEibner
      @BrianEibner  Před 5 lety +1

      Great question. When you let the ball of meat cook for a bit the oil cooks out causing a pool of oil to form then you smash the meat into the hot oil causing a sear giving you a nice “crust/texture” from the complete meat to griddle contact due to the smashing. Thank you for asking and watching give it a try

    • @troycarls4839
      @troycarls4839 Před 5 lety +4

      Once you try smash burgers, you'll never go back. Also, every video I've ever seen (and how I've made them) the meat is smashed as soon as put on the grill. They will still cook in their own hot oil and you'll still get the crust.

      @@BrianEibner Smash burgers are the best burgers and these look fantastic! that said you don't need to let the balls cook for a bit to develop the crust, also it works best to cook them quickly on a higher heat.

    • @carlo1831
      @carlo1831 Před 5 lety +1

      It depends on the texture you're looking for. This about "Once you try smash burgers, you'll never go back" is an exaggeration. It might be true for the person who said it, but I've tried them both ways and both are good. Smash burgers give a different texture and crust. Better? That's a matter of opinion. For me, neither is better than the other, they're just different ways of preparing burgers.

      Overcooked? Unless I'm grinding my own meat, I always cook burgers pretty much well done; well, not completely, but medium well at least. Never know what they were grinding before the beef and you don't know if they cleaned the grinder between jobs. I grind my own beef, and I'll cook it medium to medium rare, but not if I purchased it already ground. That's a recipe for food poisoning.
