Great left peg! Consumate classy footballer.Great player servant for Ireland and his various clubs. Forget the rest.
Maybe worth remembering some of the rest when discussing his time as Ireland manager?
For anyone asked to select their all time greatest ROI XI and omit Stan, then imho they haven't a scooby doo. Stan is the ROI's greatest LB. A player who held the no 3 shirt week after week in one of the greatest Liverpool sides ever. Stan is the definition of an Irish sporting legend.
Better then Irwin ?? Nooo
Sorry but no. He was a squad player for three years, averaging around 20 games per season. That includes a fair number of matches in central defence, midfield, etc, too, as Kenny went a bit mad with picking 6 defenders in starting XIs. He was one of four left-backs in the squad (with Burrows, Ablett and Nicol) and never nailed down a regular starting spot. We all missed him when he left, but we missed everyone who left as we got so much worse so quickly.
This was a great nostalgia bit well done lads #COYBIG
15:43 what a quote from Hunt
Hilarious!
That was Eileen Dunne btw, - not Ann Doyle
We all thought Stephen Staunton was the worst ever manager. Now he’s not even the worst Stephen to manage Ireland.
There must be some record here for most amount of inane and/or leading questions in one interview.
Stan's record in his 17 games was much much better than Michael O'Neill's was with Northern Ireland but the North kept with O'Neill and look at the success they've had since. Stan's lack of personality was his ultimate undoing.
O Neill had experience
SS didn’t..
O Neill had won silverware
SS never did as a manager ..
They had to get rid
The other lad has a fair point though. If you do take out all of Staunton's humiliating loses his record actually wasn't that bad tbf
if you take out all my flaws as a person and career dead ends id be a millionaire but thats not how the world works
This is unintentionally hilarious!
Hadn't realised Hunt was as thick as that
Ann Doyle!!! Come on lads you're better than that
If Robson was the manager it would have made the transition for stan from assistant to manager all the more easy
That chap mentioned Stephen Irelands name an inordinate amount of times.
"With the emergence of our new superstar Aaron Connolly" 👀
Hunt looks like John kenny
"I'm da Gaffooooor"
Fake quote in the title
Hunt offers nothing as a "pundit"
was a conversation more than punditry
BOHTOX93 he offered nothing as a player too
Jesus Hunt remembers absolutely nothing about a team he was actually a part of.
Hunt looks like he is well due for his free bus pass.
I'm a giraffe.
🤔
stephen hunt is painful to listen to
Adrian commenting on who should be in an all time Ireland 11, seems a bit redundant when he Can't remember any of the games an incidents brought up in the Steve Staunton era.. that was less than 15 years, if he Can't remember stuff that happened such a short time ago how can he comment on an all time 11? or even an 11 from the premier league era?? Terrible knowledge from a so called "sports journalist"
It could have been Hitler... haha.
I didn't know Staunton was such a weirdo
Staunton gets no where need a best of Irish side..
why are we watching Mongo hosts who havint a fookin breeze
