- It's being reported via Reddit that one user spent $400 in WWE 2K24's MyFaction mode to unlock the new Rock '24 model with his updated arm tattoo and Roman Reigns wearing his 1000 Days tracksuit, but is this real? Does it really cost this much to unlock these new models?
To find out the answer I decided to start opening the Punches and Promos Card Packs to see how long it took to get the cards needed, and how much this really costs...

Players need to obtain the Amethyst Sami Zayn card from Punches & Promos card packs and use the card to complete the Boss Fight Live event.

Players need to complete a collection reward featuring 5 cards from the Punches & Promos card packs.
These cards include Amethyst Kevin Owens, Amethyst Sami Zayn, and 3 Ruby Cards featuring Bray Wyatt, The Miz & Jive Owens.

The biggest issue is the company devs in charge don't feel like investing and fixing improving other game modes like universe because they know they don't have to as they wil make money regardless from this gambling and improving the game isn't needed to make money

Still, guys on CC have already posted the exact same version PLUS the new commentary/attire on those CC models so you really DONT need to spend for this

Now they wanna brag about persona cards that don’t even have individual entrances or themes; plus you could spend $1000 I still might not end up with rock with a new tattoo, nothing else. Or Roman with his hair up, nothing else.
Even if not an updated entrance motion they could give an updated theme and trons at least. Still wouldn’t be worth $400 though.

I think the next iteration of CAW needs to be maybe adding in some of the old music for superstars, having various trons for these superstars and call names so you can add these things yourself or download them from CC without taking up a slot

I did too. After taxes it's close to $130. Then, putting this on top of it is crap. I understand it's a business, but this is downright greed on Take Two Interactive's part. Why do people actually want to unlock these? You can't edit their attires, so they'll forever be in their street clothes. It's just pointlessly stupid and just not worth the time, effort, and/or money. This is just predatory on the part of 2k.
I don't get why people choose to spend £400/$400 on MyFaction just to unlock both the recent versions of Roman Reigns & The Rock. Like, what's so important to spend so much money just to unlock a couple of persona cards, especially if you can't edit their attires.

Some completionists have an irritation and annoyance seeing that, feeling like they haven't unlocked everything in the game yet.
It's why the argument of having DLC or in this case, stuff like MyFaction cards keeping content that is already in the disc on a paywall despite having paid so much for a game already, is still a topic of discussion to this day.

As someone who has put HUNDREDS of hours of time into MyFaction, they really overdid it this year. Everything is way too expensive and the grind isn’t worth it anymore.
To put it in context, if I want to get just one Deluxe pack to try and get these Amethyst cards, I need to play a minimum of 27 matches to get the roughly 20k MFP to buy a single pack.
For a 3% chance of pulling an Amethyst card… leaving 97% for not just a non-Amethyst card but very likely a card from the low level Superstars Series 1 collection so it’s more often than not a waste of time.
Either bump up the rewards or bring prices down. This will put off what remaining players this mode has left.
We as players really need to ban 2K. VC has been a problem for years, not just WWE, but NBA as well. I have completed every Live event excluding WM40 content, all of weekly towers, all of proving grounds, & a decent amount of Faction Wars…. I haven’t spent any coins on cards & I only have 290K in MFP… it defeats the purpose
That’s 2K. They get away with the gouge once, they’ll just continue to gouge even harder with every year that follows. NBA2K was the blueprint, and this is just the next iteration of the same strategy.
If you're paying $400 for a still out of date Rock, thats honestly on you at that point.

2K's MY SCAM has to end. I'm not above paying $2.99-$5 for some attires,trons,themes, and maybe moves per character. But, Jesus this card pack is a scam over 50% of us are not getting the PROMISED results.
I personally spent around $90 and I got KO and I'd say I got 60% duplicates of made up wrestlers they put in there to milk us.

I personally don't play game modes like this nor games like this. I play wwe2k games but as soon as i pay for the game our business is over. They know there's a lot of gamblers out there. They don't care. If the few people that play MF give 2k this much money and even more. To them that's not bad. They want more tho. That's why imo. People should not even fall in love with MF content.

What I find funny is that the card market has a persona card filter (which allows you to see persona card that are available to purchase) yet nothing is showing, which judging by how it going there won’t be anything worth significant

So i was using WM Undertaker 14' and the mofo was reversing EVERYTHING. I'd top rope chokeslam and tombstone this mofo and he'd kick out everytime. Then, i switched to Omos (his pin escape is higher than Taker's) and i started winning AND completing the objectives (his taunts are faster and quicker standing heavy attacks). I used Taker 1 more time. Did his taunts, all the objectives and use his Super Leaping Tombstone finisher... ANDRE... STAYED... DOWN!!!
But that challenge vs Pink Diamond Rock tho...

It’s 2K, there’s nothing insane about this story to anybody who finally gave up on their NBA chokehold due to the same crap.
The player base gives them a fraction of praise and goes along with their routine P2W and microtransactional crap, and they take it as permission to push it as far as it’ll go.
This is the real reason that 2K is testing banning Community Creators like Status. Because he was rightfully giving us this stuff for free with no wait time.
They purposely pad these packs with original character cards and lackluster cards to make you keep spending money. I was excited at the idea of persona cards when they announced it, but the way they make it such a chore to get them unless you spend money is a pretty shady tactic
They'd make more money if they just let you buy the card for cash, straight up.

I pulled the Sami card on my first pack opening on the punches and promos pack. Surprised the hell out of me.
Now I understand why 2k baned What's The Status. (But now 2k not baned him anymore.)
They banned him for stuff that had nothing to do with MyFACTION.
I paid 20 bucks to get enough VC to buy the Hogan card needed to unlock the action figure Hogan card. That's all I'm doing. 400 bucks? You're out of your mind.
I didn't have enough points to purchase the hulk hogan card to play the match for the action figure version. I just accepted it and moved on. They're (2k) not getting anymore of my money. I paid for the wrestlemania deluxe version of the game and that's more then enough.

Only way to fix this a little better is by introducing the system in other games. Where if you open a pack, that card will not be appearing in your next pack again until you completed the whole collection. No duplicates. Perhaps making the rare ones a little harder but still would be a better option than a fully random generator

If this was the last Wwe game and it had regular updates with new characters, yes MyFaction would make sense. But the fact that a new game will come out next year with all the wrestlers that you need to unlock now in the base game, there is no point wasting our money...

Cheers, Smacktalks. I find this so disappointing. I just don't have the money to do this. You must Grind to have that many Faction points to have been able to do those 10 packs. The Token cards are more expensive this year too, and that is equally disappointing

Yeah I'm already growing tired of this game because of stuff like this.
I unlocked the Hulk Hogan by buying the card I needed and would do the same for other persona cards. Though, seeing that there's a search function for persona cards makes me think they'll sell them there anyway, but probably towards the end of this games lifecycle... I miss the days when you could just unlock things in game and at worst yoou bought the dlc for extra wrestlers. Scummiest thing is they have the locked superstars on the selection page, making people like me feel the FOMO for locked slots.

Yeah those odds to pull those amethyst cards are pretty wild. And I don't even dislike MY faction this year(far from it) but this does it no favors.
Status gives the same thing for free. I'll stick to that. It's not like there's an updated entrance or theme or anything. They added his tattoo. Big deal. Status does that every year.

I feel like it's much more likely that 2k will just get rid of community creations in the future as opposed to removing MyFaction or making it more player friendly. I thought this "persona card" feature would be a good compromise when I first heard about it, but I should have known better.

I bought the max one that gave you the cooler cosmetics pack and got everything except brute force so honestly I can't complain
2k needs to put a locker code so there can a better chance in getting the Sami Zayn card.
The question now is, why would they want to make a dlc worth £30 with these items when they can put them in myfaction and make way more
Did you know that if you have a catching finisher you can lift up your opponent doing a running finisher. Just found out while playing Corbin vs reigns. When Roman was doing the spear the lift font shows up briefly.
THE punches and promos arent giving the correct amount for duplicates. They are only giving 750 MFP for duplicate emerald, sapphire, ruby and amethyst Punches & Promos cards. When the duplicate emerald should be 4500, sapphire 7500 and ruby 11250 MFP. When you get 2500 MFP for Superstar series 1 gold duplicates.
2K doesn't care what cards you get from the packs. 2K doesn't care if you enjoy the mode. They just want your money.
Hey, I unlocked Roman Rock & Hogan. To get Rock 24 I Spent $300 & unlocked the others through the My Faction Live Event's.
I have been saying for the longest: they need to implement the auction house like NBA 2K. That way any duplicates in packs have real value and players could grind for MFP.
WWE 2K players will experience the same thing that NBA 2K players go through in the MyTeam mode

I have all the cards. It’s just jive Owens is the only card I don’t have and I still don’t have it after I spent my money trying to unlock the cards. I just gotta keep going or wait till the expires in a couple days and do it just like you said with Ichibon, Hulk Hogan or after when it expires, then it will be with all the other cards
On top of that you can’t even edit the my faction persona models so this is crazy
I really don't see why they can't just add these to the roster with the update instead of screwing the entire player base they have left. Maybe they should spend more time fixing their online servers. I can't even play with my friends because the invite system is broke and it'll randomly disconnect us from the match.
In Australia (AUD if unfamiliar with the currency exchange term), they charge $164.95 for 400,000 VC, which is $329.90 for 800,000 VC so yes this is Highway Robbery and why "Packs" should be illegal and considered gambling. I agree that the card should be placed in the store and you earn the MFP to purchase.
This is so damn annoying I've been waiting years for an updated rock just for them to do this... all they had to do was update his tattoo to put in the base game I swear on all that is holy this game always pisses me off.
I refused for the longest time to download a nodded version on CC in hope they would update the rock.
I've opened 5 Punches & Promos Deluxe packs. 2 of them didn't have any P&P cards in them and the other 3 just had Nickolas Mann. They need to make that Roman card available again after the live event ends, because that event only lasts a few days and there's no way people like me who can't afford to throw money at the game can get it.
The problem with these awful practices is that if 2K sees just a slight revenue increase from people buying currency for these timed events, there's no reason to scratch the mode or make it fair. I haven't spent a single dime on MyFaction since its introduction, but apparently a healthy number does since they insist on the mode being a focal point.

I tried to give this mode a chance, but I just can’t justify spending funds for a new outfit for a wrestler that’s available. Like what is the difference between these persona cards and the downloadable versions in CC?
I never ever bother with my faction.. till this past weekend I bought the legend hulk hogan card to unlock the “ figure hulk hogan” and I did it I will spend all the money to unlock one character 🤦♂️
The only time i got on MyFaction is to get Sheamus's old theme then i gave it to the current Sheamus and to get Elite John Cena 😂
