You may want to do that sooner than later.
From my understanding you need two working keys to DIY.
If you only have one, you may have to go to the dealer. Yikes.

Yes, all functions on the remote sync when you program it.

I did it with my crown Victoria I found out after a couple of remotes you have to get remotes with the same FCC matching numbers from you original key fob

I found Amazon to be about the best price for fobs and keys. Then have the key cut by key cutter. My dealership doesn't even cut keys in house anymore, they have a subcontractor come by and do it.

Right where the key ring goes through, insert a small flathead screwdriver and gently pry the halves apart.
