    • @wilton
      @wilton  Před 6 lety +1

      If you are not piping directly onto your dessert, place on wax paper and chill for about 20 minutes, or until hard to the touch. You can peel off of the paper and attach with buttercream.

    • @asiajohnson4609
      @asiajohnson4609 Před 2 lety

      You can move the flowers (still attached to the paper) to a cookie sheet and put it in the freezer. They should be a breeze to get onto the cake after that.

      Sugar Geek on CZcams has an awesome “Easy Buttercream” she uses Pasteurized egg whites from a carton, then adds her powdered sugar and then the soften better little by little. Oh, and don’t forget your flavoring in a pinch of salt LOL it is heavenly. If you do happen to check it out and make it, if you feel like it’s too soft you can always put it in the fridge for a bit to firm it up. I love Liz’s (The Sugar Geek) videos as well🥰🥰🥰🎂

  • @lizp3910

    And how would you transfer the flower from the pin thing onto the side of a cake? Or do you just pipe it directly onto the Cake’s side? ☺️

    • @ThaliasCakes
      @ThaliasCakes Před 5 lety +8

      Elizabeth Polanco so you pipe it on a flower nail but make sure there is parchment paper underneath and once your done piping place it into the freezer to harden up for 20mins and then take it out and take it off the parchment carefully and place it on the cake 😊

    Why does everyone go on about 'Shortening'? What would be our equivalent to Shortening in England? And a recipe that gives in kg and not cups (for all those that do give out measurements in cups)
    Apart from that it's a great tutorial, thankyou.
    I've now just got to get a good recipe for royal icing to try this out successfully

    • @helenwright3007
      @helenwright3007 Před 4 lety +2

      It's the heat in many US places that has them adding shortening to the recipe, it helps stop it melting. Stick with normal all buttercream icing, it tastes far, far better. So a year late but there's your answer ;) If you really, really want to try it then it was in my local Tesco superstore as an alternative to lard. I just wouldn't bother because it's gross.

    • @sarahhodkinson8089
      @sarahhodkinson8089 Před 4 lety

      @@helenwright3007 thankyou for that. Still never done butter cream with shortening. However I did find shortening useful when I made rice krispie marshmallows to mould for figures..... used it to stop the mixture sticking to my hands :-) x
