Having watched the show tonight and seeing everyone say she was ALWAYS happy makes me think that was the sign. There's no way to be happy all the time. And hearing that she was always there for everyone makes me think maybe she gave it all away and then had nothing left for herself. Overachievers put so much pressure on themselves too.
There was a boy in my homeroom class senior year. He smiled all the time. You'd think his face was stuck that way. Between graduation and college he killed himself because his girlfriend broke up with him. He didn't have mental health problems. Something suddenly happened that was too much to take.
The Osmonds who always put on those super happy faces had issues. So much so that Marie went on stage right after her son took his own life. Because that's what they're "supposed" to do.
It's okay to be sad. It's okay to go through it. Trying to always be that sunshine for everyone else isn't anyone's job.

That’s why I hate that expression “fake it to you make it”. I think we need to let ppl have their bad days, and not take it so personally. I think ppl feel the pressure of hiding their true feelings because then ppl judge them or label them as rude or difficult or weak. We’re human, we’re not on, happy, and bubbly all the time. We have our moments, we go through things. A lot of times, you spend time with your co-workers more than your spouse or family. We should have a comfortable welcoming environment, where we can all vent and be heard. Too many suicides happening lately. May her beautiful soul Rest In Peace.

I have watched many videos and read about Cheslie since her death, and she was an OVERACHIEVER. Suicide is common among overachievers. She had FOUR college degrees, and most people do not have one college degree. Overachievers often set unrealistic goals that can lead to suicide, if the goals are not met. Cheslie had a problem with being 30 and not having a certain amount of recognition. She also spoke about the emptiness of a competitive lifestyle. Her unrealistic goal for 30 and not liking her lifestyle may have pushed her over the edge.

Being an overachiever Is one thing,…….& that’s ok., the problem is putting expectations, & timelines on things……..I would hear folks say they have to achieve certain goals by this, or by that age,……..& families oftentimes tends to, unintentionally do the EXACT same thing……..(well meaningly,) to their kids, etc., NOT realizing there’s an aweful lot of pressure that’s being heaping on children, relatives, etc., & oftentimes, it’s NOT being done for their individual selves,………it’s being done to please parents,……family members, friends, etc., then before one knows it, it gets to BOILING POINT, then @ times ends up Leading to EXPLOSION. Children need to be taught @ an early age that as much as it is your desire to see them achieve their goals etc., that even if…….(God Forbid) whatever that goal is doesn’t pans out, that it is still ok., that it is STILL NOT the end of the world. Oftentimes children do things to please the world, & leave themselves out, @ times feeling so lost, so out of sorts……. Totally loosing themselves. May as parents, guardians, etc., take the time to listen more to your children, respect their thoughts, their concerns, their choices. I am NOT saying this was the case of Cheslie’s home circle, But I am saying from a general standpoint, there are things that can be changed Can it be done?……..Yes it can. Let’s help save our children. Cheslie was still a baby,……..only thirty yrs.,…….. Barely out of her twenties., she would’ve been young for a very long time, given the chance. I am soooooooooooo sorry about the outcome. This precious princess had EVERYTHING,…….. But length of yrs., Again, my continued condolences to all her family, friends, & colleagues. Rest easy precious one.🥺😢🥺

People need to start by not calling it a mental illness, suicide comes in many forms- it's isolation, loneliness, and expectations that get piled up in someone- nobody is above it. Calling it mental illness or mental awareness is putting it into a nice neat box and then pushing it away. It's far more complicated than that, that is how we start changing society so people are more authentic, more accepted and loved for who they are, not what they are. I am incredibly saddened by Cheslie's passing.

It's not a mental health, it's an existential crisis that's happening. If we start addressing it correctly, we can start to change and truly help those in need. I have had two friends attempt suicide, both were going through things that society couldn't help them with at the moment, they didn't turn to ask for help because they felt that the current mode is not worth even going down. We are too individuallist and not empathetic enough

@@elisabethcrawford5903 one thing I've found out about women, in particular, is that their mental health is greatly determined by their openness to be loved by another, in particular - a trusted man. The gift is called submissiveness- it simply means "I'm open to being loved by you and to love you in return." Mary R Joyce, a philosopher, recognized this as "receptivity". I mention this because I cannot imagine a woman with a full measure of receptivity ever hurting herself or others.

Living alone in NYC during winter, & during a Pandemic is very lonely & draining. On top of that she constantly faced anti-blackness in the Modeling & Legal Industries. She seemed to have been living her life to make everyone else happy, & constantly lived under the pressure to be perfect because everyone loved her perfection, & everyone always expected her to keep doing more & more. She seemed to pursue Law to please her Dad, & Modeling to please her Mom. However internet bullies, & racists shamed her for being “short”, “old”, “too muscular”, “too black” & “benefiting from affirmative action”.
She never got to live her life for herself. As a child she started living her life for her parents, she had to live up to the White Beauty standard, she had to be a Champion for Black People, she had to be a lawyer/mba, then she had to be society’s “Hollywood feel good influencer”, & criminal justice hero.
In one Ear she had her “supporters” setting their expectations of her to always be a perfect, perky, superwoman.
In the other Ear her critics made her feel inadequate & unqualified in all of her achievements.
She was trapped between 30 years of Expectations to be Perfect & 30 years of Cruel Criticism.
She lived under a microscope for 30 years, being judged & pressured in every aspect of her existence by a selfish society driven by vanity.
Parents & society need to stop living vicariously through children & celebrities. No one owes their life to anyone else.
I’m sorry she suffered, I’m sorry she didn’t have mental freedom, I’m sorry this world drained her amazing light.
    REST IN PEACE CHESLIE KRYST!

Sometimes what could be shown on the outside, doesn't match what's hidden on the inside.. You're right, nobody is happy and bubbly all the time. Everyone goes through something. The smiles and laughter can be seen on the outside, but deep sadness lurks within. A lady at work was always bubbly. She walks in and you just know that she's here. One morning, I met her and asked her how she's doing, "I'm fine", she responded excitedly in her usual way. Then I said again, How are you really feeling. Suddenly, tears started streaming down her face, and she said to me, "everyone sees me smiling and happy, but deep down inside, I'm hurting, and nobody knows what I'm going through." I gave her a hug, and a prayer, and some words of encouragement.

I think the op is saying, don’t compare your life, don’t assume having accomplishments can take away any pain you feel. If you’re in pain, you have to address the pain. Many women who accomplish things can be and are happy. “Acquire what makes a difference for your soul.” Don’t make your accomplishments something that defines you. Even if there are signs, no one really knows how to help. By saying, "are you thinking about committing suicide" irritates those who think about it daily but just can't do it and walk around daily in pain and it's obvious. For people like this woman, I think she was happy and didn't really know depression so when she felt down, she didn't know how to deal with it because she never felt that sort of pain that many people live daily with and don't know how to get help or can't afford it. Getting a qualified / experienced therapist for people with serious mental illness is not obtainable. Just finding a therapist who is willing to take anyone may not help people with issues they have dealt with their whole life or personality issues on top of depression. Drugs aren't always the answer or just any random therapist who is just trying to get hours for their career. Finding mental health help is not easy and people who don't struggle with it daily have nothing to help other than to say, "Have you tried therapy, taking drugs, etc." Then when you go see someone, you get dumb questions like, "Have you thought about taking your life, have you felt depressed over the last few days, have you noticed not feeling as excited about things in life..." Ugh. For many, they struggle to just have a moment when they aren't feeling the sickness inside and finding some joy like others feel.

We can never truly understand why someone may decide to take their own life because there are a multitudes of factors to consider. However, we know people who give up life are often in deep turmoil and suffering. The wounds people often carry are not always visible for everyone to see. So many people carry trauma and pain and still go on in life they best they can. That's what is resiliency and strength. Although at times that pain becomes too much of a burden to carry alone. It's why we need each other and our understanding, compassion, and love. Everyone is carrying something and we never know what that might be. @Millicient Aspinet I don't agree. She was a public person yes, that is true. However her family life was always private. So I don't see the point in ventilating that. At this point if she was living was a mirage is not even for you or me to discuss it. God is the ultimate judge. I just hope she is at peace. This is such a terrible loss and tragedy for all her friends and family, and the people that she impacted positively of course.

if you read her recent essay, it tells you her outlook on life and her age, beauty. it was pretty gloomy one. she 'acted' in this way, but deep down she was struggling. she was a fighter but deep down she never felt good enough.

Has a person who had experience suicide by two of my family members. I'm once again speechless, over this young beautiful talented, Amazing woman death.
Never knew her but we can tell that she was full of life and energy.
What happen? We will never know
All we got left is to remember her for the great person she was.
    Her family must be devastated!
Has her coworkers and everyone who knew her.
It just doesn't make sense !!!!!
Look like I underestimated depression 😔.

Has anyone thought about foul play? Her mom would have felt something. You can’t be someone’s best friend or mother daughter relationship and not suspect or feel anything.
People have been educated to believe lies!!

Praising and worshiping God (Jesus) ..... Is the only medicine to depression.... 1. Accepting Jesus as your personal.
    2. Spending time with God (reading Bible + praying)
    3. Worshipping God ...

Believe me this is the only way to escape from ANY PROBLEM (INCLUDING DEPRESSION)

Sometimes, a person has a tendency to hide what he or she truly feels inside while showing the entire world the other side and make them think that you're truly strong but the truth is, your tearing apart and breaking down until the truth will push you to the limit and even take your own life. Sad.😩
