      I guess as long as the mold closes and locks up, the mold protections are all set.

    This is the PERFECT example of how NOT to set a mold.

      100 % agree. This makes me appreciate my company a lot more. We have proper hoists and far more efficient procedures. I change 4-6 molds per day.

    On a few occasions we used a fork truck to set molds but I think it is much more dangerous and increases the chance for Mold/Molder/Set-up Tech damage, I was never comfortable watching Molds swaying like wind chimes... Overhead cranes are much safer.

    • @PedroSantos-yf8nr
      @PedroSantos-yf8nr Před 5 lety

      So what can you use instead of the fork truck to set the mold? considering mold's weight?

      Marke crane is the way to go. I’ve had to set a few molds with a forklift and not only is it harder to align the mold with the locking ring, but it also leaves you very little room to work. It’s just a dangerous technique altogether. Luckily we have cranes but sometimes people are stupid and end up breaking them

    The dude doesn't even know what a Thermolator does. "Heats the material red hot"? That's not the thermolator brother.

    • @marke8323
      @marke8323 Před 5 lety

      How about when a mold hose would blow? kill the water to the manifolds, stop molder and get to the thermolators shut down before someone get burned!

    • @yaboyreege7158
      @yaboyreege7158 Před 4 lety

      Yea seriously lol the thermometers cool down water to the mold, they don’t heat the material lol

    • @williamtolliver4350
      @williamtolliver4350 Před 4 lety +1

      Thermolators heat or cool the water to a set temp. All our lines were chilled water unless it needed to be hot.

    Using a fork truck to install a mould is a sign of a crap company the guys using a tube on a ratchet which always makes me want to smack the person

      Greg G you’re supposed to torque the clamp bolts down with an actual torque ratchet. Not use a breaker bar and guess how tight they are

      @@yaboyreege7158 I'm well aware you torque the bolts to 85 pds. Atleast in my shop. My comment was because of the one guy calling a breaker bar a "tube on a ratchet"
