Then just go out and purchase it. Support these guys. It's companies like this that need the backing and support. Disney and company put out great films for sure, but they don't need the support like Laika does. Kubo and the Two Strings cost $60 million to make and took in $77 million in box office. Sure they got their money back, but this film should of doubled or tripled their budget.
Absolutely incredible. The more I research stop motion, the more it amazes me each and every time. Gives me the motivation to keep at it myself. Also, the sheer scale of that giant skeleton is awesome.
Nah it’s waaaay more than 1 person they have an entire department dedicated to making the puppets and hundreds of animators, this is also not claymation
I think the next big evolutionary step for stop motion animation will be having the puppet be controlled like an audio animatronic, where instead of moving the character into position by hand,it is first displayed in computer software, the animator can preposition it or set a number of keyframes, then when they want to review they can either render it on software or output it to the puppet which would act out the scene. Of course you wouldn’t lock it to that digital only system it would be hybrid allowing for manual corrections to be done between or at keyframes. And with modern editing software you can edit out any wires coming out the feet or overlapping the puppet and use the software model as a cgi render in those parts.
In Effects, if visual or real, it's all about not seeing the effect or how it has been made, actually. So it's more an compliment to stop motion. Apart from that your question is still legitimate. and i think it was worth it
Bran Flakes I'd say yes, while amazing things can be done with CGI shaders and textures it really adds more to the immersion knowing that the characters you're watching are actually there and that nearly everything you see is real (I say nearly since they did also use green screens which makes me think that some of the backdrops may have been made on a CGI program)
I were playing like this when young, place toys each by each and take the pict with my mom phone.... But after all i stop around 20-30 picts cause its took too much time to be done 🤣

How could anyone possibly dislike this video? It shows the incredible amount of work that went into this.
Oh look, zero dislikes.
Justice.
THE AMOUNT OF EFFORT AND DEDICATION IS AMAZING!!
Farah Ishak and they did the same with Coraline, ParaNorman , and the Boxtrolls
The stop motion animation are mostly the underrated one's
😖
I really hope they didn’t throw away this set and instead give it to an art museum or something
This studio keeps their art. They also made Coraline and still have the pieces for it.
I can’t even draw a perfect circle

THAT'S IT THAT'S IT I QUIT! theses people have so much patience like if that was me I would have been fired on the first day.
If you love it you should persevere like these guys
They can't fire anyone they want on the spot, it's very risky but they probly make u delete scenes u messed up and do it again later on or next day
Oh my god, this is impressive. These people deserve more loves.
One person made all the claymation...such legendary
Nah it’s waaaay more than 1 person they have an entire department dedicated to making the puppets and hundreds of animators, this is also not claymation
I love stop motion. Its my favorite type of animation/filmography
I love those shots of the characters animated with humans blurred, scurrying around them.
Great work
This art deserves nothing but respect
The movie is amazing
It’s beautiful
Dang Laika, back at it again with that stop-motion!
One must be a little nuts to do this, and I say that with utmost respect and admiration. Simply amazing job. Loved the resulting movie, too.
Best stop motion movie I've seen
This is legit awesome
This movie does NOT get nearly enough love. It probably never will.
crazy dedication
MANY MANY KUDOS to the crew!!!

WHOA!
I have no words
This would be such a fun jib to have (but if I wanted to be this good, I'd have to REALLY work on my stop motion skills).
🔥🔥🔥
Wow
May I ask how long did it take to make and how many people were involved
And I am wow this is amazing
Is this stopping and recording every single frame??
thats how stop motion works :p
No.
Yes. I have watched so many behind-the-scenes of this video. And I'm sure that this is stop motion
Yes takes forever but the end result is worth it!!
That's why it's called STOP MOTION get it 😉
How long did it take to make this movie?
why only 2000 views???

WAHHHH when i saw the movie i didnt know it was stop motion
TheGamingFox Makes you question if it really was worth the effort of doing stop motion.
In Effects, if visual or real, it's all about not seeing the effect or how it has been made, actually. So it's more an compliment to stop motion.
Apart from that your question is still legitimate.
and i think it was worth it
Ah but these are more than just movies, they are works of art. And those are worth all the effort.
I watched this movie recently and thought it was computer animated to look like its stop motion. Now I must go watch it again with fresh eyes.

Now we witness the death of CGI
CGI was in this movie. See the green screens? Personally CGI is good if used correctly but the industry shouldn't be totally dependent on it.
KEVIN PARRY
Omg this is took for hour!!!

5 years of work to only earn 75 Million at the box office, that's sad.
Kevin parry did this. He also has a channel go check it out! And also, this thing was made by stop motion! Is that cool?
I don’t want to be a big animator like these guys
I want animation to be like a side thing
You can't do it as a side thing or it will take you decades to finish a project. Maybe if you just wanna do 3 minute shorts that's fine though.
Dying Muffin Animations yeah the shorts is my thing
