    Just watch yt Dr Berg, Dr Eckberg, Dr Mindy Pelz, Dr Ken Berry about keto and why you should not worry about Cholesterol. Watch also their vids on health fats and butter. Read the comments on their keto and carnivore diet vids.

      you can probably just eat plant based and not worry about putting your body into ketosis

      Saladino is kind of delusional. Carnivore Diet is nonsense as a lifestyle. From what I've seen of him, he isn't really bright so I would have no interest in inviting him. Let him go to Rogan's podcast, its more suited to him.

      Saladino isn’t a good example of the carnivore diet because he adds carbs - fruit and honey. He also changes his mind a lot and isn’t really a reliable source of information since he’s only experimenting on himself. There are some great doctors though who’d be interesting guests for this podcast like Dr. Chaffee (who’s about the same age as Rich Roll and looks two decades younger) or Nina Teicholz (a journalist) or Gary Taubes, Tim Noaks etc. Those are the most interesting conversations rather than being in an echo chamber at all times about nutrition. In my opinion the one thing that Rich Roll doesn’t get quite right. He’s amazing every other way (that I know of).

    • @yl1487
      @yl1487 Před rokem +2

      Yes. Agreed. Second that, Rich has been happy to generate an echo chamber around himself, with what I hope may simply be an unintentional tendency to unconsciously skirt around any voices of dissent ... or otherwise what might be divergent thinking - at least from his perspective. Good thing to encourage him to remain open, curious, broaden his intellectual horizons rather than entrap himself in a deep dogmatic dungeon.
      If you might please let me add Peter Dobromylskyj (of Hyperlipid renown) to this discussion idea. Peace.

    Statins don’t help overall longevity. High cholesterol is a good thing. The higher the cholesterol the lower the all cause mortality. They got this one upside down. Fat is good for us. Sugar is bad - it raises triglycerides and causes inflammation in the body. Any carb is turned into sugar in your body.
    You won’t get a heart attack with low triglycerides. Whoever is worried about their risk for heart disease should have a calcium scan. I’ve been eating an animal based diet for the most part of my life. Keto and low carb. My calcium scan is zero and my triglycerides low. There’s literally no chance I will get a heart attack anytime soon. And I am 52 years old.

    • @yl1487
      @yl1487 Před rokem +2

      Brings up my memory of David Diamond's admission of his own hypertriglyceridemia ... even that dealt with effectively by a low carbohydrate approach.
      Let's appreciate the fact that the significance of Philip Randle's work is revealed in multiple, surprisingly contrasting contexts - Cyrus, with an autoimmune constellation including type I diabetes, has some success living in a sunny climate relying on glucose and fructose rich fruit in the absence of ingestion of fat - alas, a strategy that may be suspect in the long term (yes I too have a bias towards saturated lipid as a predominant energy substrate) however, nevertheless illustrating fundamental principles from Randle at play.
      Go well.
      P. S. Much to enjoy in Peter Dobromylskyj's thoughts too ... Peace.

      incorrect for many. just look here on youtube. many high meat dieters have gotten a heart attack. where do you get the the higher cholesterol the lower all cause mortality. that is just not the case.

      I've been eating 80g+ of pure, raw kidney fat a day since at least February this year. My total cholesterol is a measly 3.9mmol/L. My LDL is a puny 1.7mmol/L. I just can't seem to increase my cholesterol to the sky high levels of some pure-blooded carnivores. My theory is that all the kidney fat I eat lowers my body's need for making endogenous cholesterol.

      Sugar doesnt raise tryglicerides... I dont know where people get this idea. There was a study recent showing that even oreos lower tryglicerides and cholesterol. Its saturated fat that rises tryglicerides. But fats overall.
