  • Just like the title says. Some say it wasn't possible, but I'm here to prove they are wrong.

Finally tore mine down for clean wire routing and upgrading the spark plug. Thanks for the great video.

I seem to regard those plastic panels in much the same way as you, Sir. A bit of wretched wriggling, hoping it doesn't break off...
One tip I might have is to "lube" any plastic-to-plastic fitment with a bit of Armor All or some other plastic preservative. A Q-tip for "innies" and a paper towel for "outties..."
You're welcome. Please send valuable prize.

Thanks for this video! Question - Did you have any issue reconnecting fuel line when tank was reinstalled. Im having an issue closing the clamps on the fuel line. And to your point about so much plastic, didnt want to apply to much pressure to close, but am wondering if Im doing something wrong? Curious if you had any advice?? Thanks!

Put just a little bit of grease on the o-ring and rock it back and forth it should slide all the way in. It's got quite a bit of travel before it seats but you shouldn't force it

Does the gas trickle out of the gas line if you still have gas in the gas tank?

A little bit came out of the line but after that no it did not. At least not when I did it

When completely assembled, there's a little window on the side, couldn't u just fanangle the plug out thru it?

5 days after I asked this question I tried it and was completely successful.
The thing I noticed about a lot of my comrades in the ADV community is that - they like to tinker. They like the accessories and the simple workability -servicing of the KLR. Cool. But that 'tinkering" can also be translated as hobbying. When replacing the spark plug, assuming you have all the proper toolery which is nothing but the thin-walled plug remover and a plug puller, finesse your hand through the passenger side window right above the thermostat and go to town. Took me literally no more than 10 minutes.
      Thx for video host. Peace.

Why did you switch the spark plug?

Thanks for posting. I would be interested in a valve check, shim video if you do the work yourself.

Been a minute since I've done it but I remember just taking a very small flat blade screwdriver and wiggling it through there.
