    Genius, I've struggled trying to make mini screw-locks with an old fly tying bobbin. This method looks way easier.

      @dobie333 Před 5 lety

      I make small center pin screw locks with a mini matarelli bobbin. Just fit
      the appropriate size roll pin over the tube (roll pin sticks out about 1/8 in)- makes it super easy ....
      Basically the same as what he is making in the video.

    I bet this would work, without having tried it. Especially bluegill and trout. For crappie.. because of their paper mouth, it is going to be difficult to land a fish with this. You can hook them but you won have enough hook in the mouth to hold them. Can u set this rig with ultralight rod? Bass jig rods have like 0 flex, the most unpleasant rods on the market : )

    I was wondering for awhile how I'd be able to rig something like a 2" curl tail grub weedless on an inline spinner,so I could fish it good under,and through lily pads. I was thinking about trying #8 kahle hooks, but this is going to be how I'll do it! I just tried this with a mustad #4 large ring sproat hook,after I bend the hook eye and part of the hook shank slightly, to resemble that jig hook. Rigs a 2" curl tail nicely!. I also tried it with some kind of red mustad drop shot type hooks,I have laying around in #4. That hook seems to fit smaller plastics better than the sproat hook. Now I just hope I don't need to set the hook really hard to get a good hookup,as I use UL gear with light braid,and am used to the fish setting the hook on themselves,with a little backward pressure on the rod. Instead of making an actual screw lock,I just made a small plug shaped bundle of wire wraps,to fit into the plastic. It seems hold decently,without tearing up the plastic. Thanks for the good idea!

    So, do you put the Scooby-Doo rig on 1st, or the wire twist ? When you have the wire twist and the Scooby-Doo on, how on earth do you thread a line through the hook eye. Finally, how do keep the wire twist from rubbing up against your 4 lb flouro leader so it doesn't break it. I know you made these videos awhile ago, but could you do one that walks us through the entire process.
    I feel like I am watching McGuyver every time I watch one of your videos. The Scooby-Doo is fantastic, but I must have tied 20 of them before I could get everything just right. It does fish fantastic.

    Hey sorry I realize this has nothing to do with the video, but I'm sure you know the answer and the best way about this. So with rinsing saltwater gear do you do it on a mist setting or with pressure? Everyone says to use only a mist when rinsing off reels but I don't see how it takes care if any saltwater that made it inside of the reel itself.

    I’ve been using streamer hooks for years with small plastics for years. Many fly-fisherman have before me.
    I’ve known people who used no. 2 or 4 Aberdeen hooks with the old Creme plastics Trout worm for decades. The first one I saw with an Aberdeen hook was rigged with a 1/32 oz. cone sinker, a bent Aberdeen on an old Mister Twister grubs back in the late 1970’s. BTW, if your using these tiny rigs, you’re probably using UL tackle and that means light line - the strength of the hook is irrelevant.
    I was told by the guys rigging in the 1970’s they learned the technique from people using Eagle Claw Kirbed hooks, but the caused excessive line twist. They were using the old Creme 2” worms, now called “Trout worms”.

      You have a very good chance of snatching a bass on something like this and 12lb braid is about the same size as 4lb mono. If you have a good hook you can land damn near anything while micro fishing. Yes, I still use my drag lol.

      I think one of the best for a newbie would be anything daiwa due to how strong the magnetic brake can get. Braking is everything when learning. Street prices on the tatula bring it down to the 100$ price...and the fuego ct is a tatula minus the t wing guide.The shimano reels in that price are great...But I like the brake of the daiwa and the metal frame

      I explained in length why I don't in the they fit a herd of deer in a box video. I put out a few fishing vids. Big Tuna shark smallie etc. But I'm probably the biggest anti spot burner on CZcams. I moderate the second largest fishing forum on the planet and one of its biggest rules is zero spot burning. I'm friends with some large youtubers who film on the water and believe me.. They get hate and threats. I'm good on that. To top it off. When Im on the water I want to separate myself from youtube. As is I spend 15hrs daily focused on fishing filming etc. I recently lost 4 of my go pro batteries. And never batted an eye or ordered replacements.
