That website is a great resource. I was scoring a Western where they needed classical music from the period. There was an American Composer by the name Louis Moreau Gottschalk. His music was popular internationally and here in America. His music had hints of American jazz. He was very influenced by the music in New Orleans. The website had midi files of his piano music, and it worked perfect.

That's awesome to know others are using it and especially you in your compositions. Those files are fascinating because it's literally someone else playing and it's been recorded down for others to hear. Like in the late 1800s and using those pianos that self play by inputting those scrolls.

anyone have any ideas as to how to clock multiple models to a drum machine that has a either CV or midi output option for the clock? I work DAW less not a super star when it comes to computers and I'm almost 50 so I know how to work and record with a dawless device but not computers and I think about recording in that manor. So any advice other than to use a computer? I guess I'm looking for a midi to CV desktop unit with multiple CV outputs.

Oh you can use a KeyStep Pro to be able to do that, BUT you do need a PC to set it up via software, much easier than the onboard menu.

Can you still manipulate filters and oscillators on the matriarch as it’s playing/recording?

Don't play Bach with MIDI files. It's an absolute travesty 😀😆😂😭

But what if a piano master records his Bach pieces as a midi file? Then you have the "real stuff", lol.

      Wendy Carlos did it!!!
MIDI files can be fun, but also rob one of any creativity.
Ableton allows to extract bass or melodies from samples/non MIDI into MIDI.
Just don't do what Wendy did, and go MIDI mental.
^^ None of this really happened, Wendy actually used Bach to play her synths.

I doubt theyd be turning in their graves, they would likely be hyped people are still looking at their pieces and would probably be tweaking synths themselves.
