I continue to hear people grousing about this version of the GX. It strikes me as a balance between luxury and actual off-road chops. No piano black. Looks cleanable. If more pure luxury is required, you pony up for the LX. If you want less luxury and want to get dirty, get the Land Cruiser.
I just like the new GX, not gonna lie.
I love the new GX. Would settle for a NX though 😅
Lexus/Toyota has been really broadened their SUV/compact SUV lineup imo. We have the new GX, the new Grand Highlander, NX, UX, RX, etc down to the trusty, best selling RAV4. Something for everyone at every price range and they all seem to be great.
In the Northeast this trim level will cost you approximately $78K all in($73K MSRP+ 4600 fees + taxes)

Test drove today and I felt absolutely every bump I hit! To me when I think Lexus I think luxury and this was far from luxury. 3 out of 5

Everything looked nice up to the point when the MPG's were shared. I can't wait to see what type of Hybrid system will be used for this car. I'm not sure if the latest one used in the RX will suffice the size of this vehicle so I will be curious what the final design will be like.

Great channel. Why does the new GX550 and LC have QC holds on almost all models? Is it the sunroof, Paint, engine? Please help many people looking for answers.
Thanks! A friend at a Toyota dealership said the Land Cruisers that have sunroofs are delayed for extra quality control measures. Other than that, haven't heard specifics 👍

I love this GX but lately all I've been hearing is issues with engines. Gotta say I'm so disappointed because I really wanted this to replace my 08' FJ Cruiser which is 600 miles shy of 100k😎 I really adore my FJ and I've never had any major issues and it's still going strong. I certainly got my monies worth with it and if I'm going to spend this type of money I want to have this thing last me 10+ years too. Guess I'll wait and see, not like I'm in a rush anyway.
Agreed, a few years of tweaks and improvements makes all the difference. Plus, they may finally put a third in the overtrail trims as an option by that point, if you’re interested in that
same, gonna cancel my order...so disappointed.

Engineering background here all around the Lexus GX 550 is a real body on frame suv but there are some
Cons to note. $+ is 70000 if you want the top of the line model, Lixiry Plus it is 84,000 and Overtrail plus, is 78,000. I believe Overtrail is the same price as the + and you only get 17 combined MPg and must put 91 high octane gas. Pros

2 durable
3 good quality
4 the luxury Land Cruiser
To me the GX 550 is the perfect compromise between the bigger LX 600 and the GX 450. I call the LX 600 the Land Bruiser. You can’t go wrong with a Lexus, if you can afford the maintenance go fo.
I would definitely buy it 3 years used; another 3 years, 40’percent off the MSRP trick
Considering the issues in the tundra and lexus LX using this engine. I wouldn't call it reliable

@@silentthunderbird3390 it used to be reliable when they had the old V8 engine and it could tow 2000 pounds more my neighbor has the GX 470 and that thing is over 10 years old but still working like a beast once you go into this twin turbo crap that’s where the problems come what happens if one of your engines crapped out on you?

Beautiful car, and I was thinking about buying it, but I'll pass for now. A few people online are complaining about some buttons not functioning and the engine is recalled
The car is also missing:
1. Third row seats don't have enough room. Why not give it the same third row seats as the TX
2. When third row seats are up, there is not enough cargo room.... look at TX as an example. It has 20 cubic feet
3. Hate the bump in the center seat
4. Toyota Sequoia has more luxury material than GX, I feel like I'm being cheated
5. KDSS should be on all trims

You don't need a tank for commuting.
People buying SUVs for serious off roading, will not go for luxury details, rather vehicle off road capability. Lexus GX buyers will be those who prefer luxury and will do lil bit of off roading once in a while.

Honestly, Toyota needs to differentiate its products, there’s too much market saturation with all the SUVs they offer… This new Lexus GX, the new Land Cruiser and the new 4Runner, they all look alike and it’s hard to pick one over the other. Not to mention how overpriced they are with dealer markups, they’re all over $60K+++ and for buyers in that price range, they need some differentiation from a base 4Runner to a top of the line Land Cruiser or GX.
Guys, does $69k include sales tax and tag fees?

If you like a cabin completely full of dull plastic you will love it. Lexus has lost it's luxurious feel for sure.
How much is Toyota paying these podcasters to rave about the new GX? I feel that Lexus has discarded its curved and luxurious features for a boxy-looking off-roader; even though only 1 out of 20 owners of the GX actually go off-roading. If you want those luxury features of the Lexus brand you'll have to move up to the Luxury or Luxury+ models, and believe me they aren't cheap. I own a 2018 Lexus RX450h F Sport loaded to the gills that was priced just over 64k, to get the same options such as HUD, AVS, Heated Seats, Heated Steering Wheel, and Mark Levinson Stereo, you will have to pony up over 84k for the Luxury+ model that shares the same external features as it lesser-priced siblings. Most of the options you may be used to aren't even available in the lesser trims. That is why the 2023 GX Luxury models have been flying out of showrooms across the country.

My honest opinion is this vehicle looks cheap from the exterior and it doesn’t get much more luxurious once you open the door. If LEDs in 2024 is “luxurious” then I guess this is a luxury SUV. Not sure why anyone would choose this over a fully loaded 2024 Buick Enclave for the same money.

The dealership markups were 15-20k. Originally, I planned on getting the new GX but there’s no way I’m paying for that insane markup. I settled for the MDX Type-S instead.
I wish they would have put the climate control off the screen and give you more of that 14in display. So you really don’t have 14in…smh

The interior feels cheap. I'm actually looking at the 2024 Nissan Armada Platinum white exterior and white interior also the Nissan Armada feels more smoother, quieter and more luxurious compared to the GX.I

Buyer beware. My new GX just got recalled for the engine potentially blowing up due to debris in the engine at manufacturing. How is this possible? Toyota has been using this engine for 2-3 years!!!!

For $65k this is crap. Bland interior, no Toyota reliability, still terrible gas mileage with a smaller engine, everything is so crammed in this interior. No leg room. Can’t put any rear facing car seats in because you’d basically have the front seats 90° upright.
