Do you know the meaning of INSANITY?
Trying to keep this one guy alive throughout an entire playthrough without having RPG Maker while testing and testing for hours to be able to come up with footage on this guy and probably still missing out some stuff :)

Anyways, I hope you enjoy this video because holy moly this took me a while to make, not to mention that the more footage you use in Sony Vegas and the more edits you add the more it likes to crash, so you can tell that I had a fun time with this guide.

Fear & Hunger is a rogue-like horror JRPG that uses the classic turn-based strategic dismemberment combat system. It has countless secrets, randomized events to give players a new experience each time, included with original soundtracks inspired by the works of Akira Yamaoka.
Fear & Hunger has hours of unforgettable gameplay with diverse character classes and many more different characters to meet and play with. Your fate will be destined with the following action. . . Head, or Tails? Call it and don't forget it was your choice to begin with.
While the gameplay mechanics and art, as well as the previously mentioned songs inspire people to try out the game day and night, what keeps making people come back to the series is the insane amount of replayability, either due to a different starting character or a different build that will increase your strength early game while having a few difficult spikes near the late game obstacles.
It is no surprise that knowledge is what carries a player forward throughout the playthrough, Thus, the more knowledge one has over the many enemies they'll be facing the easier it is going to be to see such things as but easy challenges to the point of not even saving throughout an entire run.
The amount of knowledge that both games (Fear and hunger - Fear and hunger 2 : Termina) provide to the player will get stuck to the player's brain, resulting in not being able to go back to a state where they didn't know how to tackle situations. This is both beneficial and a weakness from the game as once you properly know how to tackle, for example: a Prison Guard then you will not have the benefit of figuring out their puzzle fight.
Every single monster is a puzzle and it's up to the player to blindly figure it out to the answer.
Prison Guard Battle:
The question will still remain in the players. . . Which limb to remove first?
Is it the arm? (Is the Prison Guard going to be grabbing me in the first turn?)
Is it the arm with the knife? (Is it going to cut my arm or is he going to do it in the 2nd turn?)
Is the stinger the actual threat? (Maybe it's not there for decoration and it has a purpose to it?)
Once you figure out how to properly defeat such enemies, you will be able to push yourself forward more and more, to even learning how to evade them without having to get into a fight with a single enemy in your playthrough.

Once Tanaka is a starting character choice, picking him will end in an instant game over
You pick him and the train just straight up crashes in the middle of his character story, killing everyone

I feel like Tanaka has more events dedicated to him dying than most other characters have events total.

And afaik, he is gonna make more scenes where Tanaka dies lol
If you talk to him right after leaving the train, you can actually advise him to stick around by the train, to which he'll respond, "Yes, I think I'll do that."
...And then immediately turn around and leave anyways.

You know... I think I actually got him to spawn back into the train after that at least once somehow, I'm almost sure of it! I remembered hearing he was difficult to keep alive, so I immediately thought "just stay here dude!" Haha

Nah I'm playing as Daan for my first run and after telling Tanaka to stay he dipped.
Then again if Jotaro Kujo himself told me to stay on a train I'd say in the fucking train lmao
I somehow managed to make Tanaka sit in the bar along with everyone else and just chill and not do or go anywhere. I did it on my first playthrough and never managed to recreate it ever again. What an incredible scrimblo.
I couldn't find a way to do that, but sounds like it probably has to do with his partner being alive

After they finished the training, you need to recruit Marco and talk to Tanaka, you can advise him to go to the bar, but on the morning of the third day he disappears (I didn’t find him)
Even if Tanaka turns Moonscorched, if you don't kill him, he will be counted as saved character in Machine God ending.

Tanaka can also be found in the white version of the mold apartments, in the room with the weak floor, he seems brainwashed by the mold. Still human, and not a doppelganger. One time, I want to do a run where I meet everyone, in every event possible, but I "don't" recruit anyone, not even Abella. I want to see what they do if I don't disturb any event among them while keeping them alive for as long as possible. That means doing stuff like Saving pav but not taking him to the train (he actually decides to walk while injured, if you patch him but go look for help. I think something about August being involved and saving him?)

I`m pretty sure he's not possesed or anything, he's just decided to participate in the festival and kill the other contestants.
If you dont kill him there, you can find his corpse at night, having been killed by August at the tower. August says Tanaka attacked him, wanting to win the festival.

You forgot that even if you sacrifice his ”partner”(why don’t you wanna say who it is) he gets killed by August in front of the tower on day 3 evening. So he still dies lol
I only covered up until Day 3 Morning, come on give me some peace I covered 3 days of this guy, I was in the verge of mental death by the end of the video XD

In case you don't want to fight the person who shoots Tanaka, you can instead go to the tower on day 1 afternoon, this will trigger an event where this person ends up heavily injured, you can then either finnish it or if you got piece of cloth and felling good today help this person which will keep it alive and prevent the event with Tanaka on day 2

Also you need to not jump in the well at the woodman's house because if you do and scream for help tanaka will show up just to be inmediately killed by the woodsman and his head will fall
I somehow managed to keep him alive for the three whole days by compleate coincidence in my first decent playthrough, on other ones I soon got to relise how easily this bugger manages to end his own story lol

Then you can find and kill Needles in town and return to explore bunker same morning!
(Unless any recent patches changed that)

I believe u can also save him on the first day and still get to the town in the same day if u completely skip over Abella + the tunnel and get the sewer key from Henryk instead by helping him find the food storage… then you can go into town from the sewers without ever seeing Needles in the tunnel. If you save and sleep to Day 1 evening he will be back on the train unscathed

You can still go to the bunker but the thing is you have to go to a certain point of it/path down there to reach the death scene but if you walk away from that area you can still explore without triggering the death

I believe the character that is with Tanaka on day 2 can only be recruited if Tanaka is dead, so you don't have to worry about that.
There's also a way for Tanaka to become moonscorched, though I am not exactly sure how.
He gets moonscorched on Day 3 night if he’s somehow alive all the way to then, taking up residence in the museum.
Nope, was able to recruit them even with Tanaka alive, I blurred the image on Day 3 to show that he is behind me haha

Gotta love that Needles only kills Tanaka if you're there to witness it. If you were able to close your eyes and cover your ears hard enough, he would be unable to die there! Sadly, even if you blind your character, Needles still kills Tanaka, because he doesn't know you're blind :(

Day 2 Morning, you have a very limited time, I don't really know how much it is, but you can make it there from anywhere you save from, you just have to be very quick.

Oye encontre algo curioso y es que con el cortador de cadenas gratis que te encuentras al inicio... vas y directamente abres la ciudad y entras para luego ir directamente al tunel 7 con abella el sombrero de tanaka esta en el suelo pero no esta needles ni tanaka y eso literalemente sucede en el dia 1 en la mañana y cuando dormi tanaka estaba vivo ;D como dije todo esto paso en el dia 1

In my previous (and disastrous) abella run I saw his fedora in tunnel 7 but I didn't saw his death cutscene. Somehow, someway, he was still alive since his photo wasn't crossed out when meeting with Per'kele in the dream. Unfortunately in my actual run he died. Lol

But if the character who would try to kill Tanaka on day 2 morning is injured and resting in the train instead, then that encounter doesn't happen, right? At least it didn't in my case, they were in the city on that spot, but they were safe, no one attacked them and we just had a casual chat.
Yeah, encounter is defused and stuff completely goes bonkers around and THEN it's hard to know what would happen lol.

@@ADarkRaccoon Just tried it a few days ago, he didn't die, idk if it has something to do with me meeting pav on day 1 at the hollow tower and taking him to the train, or having olivia on the team before sleeping, or killing caligura on day 2, but either way tanaka was just there chilling in the train, finished the game he was one of the survivors surprisingly,.

Segun mis compañeros parece que al ser Marcoh podes del dia 1 al 2 matar a Needles para explorar el bunker 7. . . Como en la guia se explica, pero no estoy muy seguro sobre Dia 2 Mañana, seguro que tenes el mismo tiempo limite para salvar a Tanaka antes de ser disparado. Pero en el día 3 Tanaka muere

It's as if you have him as a party member by that day.
So your time limit will be Day 2 Night if you are his partner, shorter time to keep him alive.
