When you have asked Mercedes, I think you can ask Toyota too right?
First of all 1 for a market like India you need to spend more for a electric small car relative to the price you get a bigger car in it's petrol counterpart
2 As of now like the phone battery, you need to spend more for more mileage eg a nexon with 350km cost 15lakhs and a 450km max costs 18lakhs, in this for 18 lakhs I get a near top end in a hybrid vitara or a hyryder,
3 once you take the car to highway the mileage becomes acceleration sensitive for eg a 350km claimed Tiago ev reduces to 300 on road, and to get around 250 - 280 atleast you have to drive at 75-80 with smooth acceleration to bypass this you need a fast charger otherwise your journey time will increase
4 for a country like India 70 percent of power comes from coal, and where are the precious minerals gonna come from? The resources are very limited or unknown, EV does not have tail pipe emission but background?????
So my take is the stop gap solution is hybrid and then gradual conversion to EV remember if you are spending 12lakhs for a Tiago to recover the same amount, you have to drive that much to recover that amount with range fear in long distance
A simple BYD atto 3 car with mileage more than 500 cost 35lakhs

I am an EV, Tesla Model Y owner. I feel I made a mistake. As an owner you always thinking of the risk of explosion, during the charging, parking, and accident, and big maintenance costs such as battery replacement costs etc. EVs are heavy and require more tire replacement. still, India doesn't have battery charging stations The overall running cost is the same as of a petrol car. i would recommend go for petrol car.

Going by your comment and the kind of knowledge you possess it's clear you don't even own a bicycle. 😂😂

I am a Tesla model y owner and now getting Mercedes eqb. I also have Toyota prado VX and a large Motorhome. I am styled in Perth australia although originally from Nepal. I can tell you that EV’s are future.
