Rosa Sabater shows an authentic native kinship with this music. Excellent!

INCREDIBLE playing so sadly cut short. Marshall was surely a great teacher.

It is a real pity that such a great artist lost her life in the prime of life. My personal homage to her.

Her performance of "El Amor y la muerte" is the greatest I've ever heard. Enough said. ...

Thank you, THANK YOU, Erwin for posting this! You are a prince! This is, by a lot, my favorite complete Goyescas cycle out there (including all the ones by a rather more famous Frank Marshall student...). She was not blessed with the greatest quality instrument to perform these on, but the beauty of tone she manages to extract from it is astounding, and the depth of expression (a phrase I generally detest, but for her it is warranted) spellbinding. Yes, she has a few minor memory slips. but they truly make no difference. I get the feeling she did not play the whole cycle very often, so I feel doubly fortunate to have this one, thanks to you, Erwin.
