- A Sea Of Blue! - Abandoned Burger King - Berea, OH. Enjoy a look at this Burger King which recently closed as of when we visited. I have have seen some unique and aesthetic locations but I especially loved this one. Perhaps being near the shores of Lake Erie, this location had a beautiful display of blues and aqua colors inside the building. What a shame to see this location close however there are a couple of other locations nearby. Still... I hate to see one so aesthetic close.

There used to be a Burger King in Concord, NC that was all blue and black and Carolina Panthers themed. They sold drugs through the drive through. They closed it and tore it down
Drugs?! Oh my god, that is deplorable. Even though I am not a resident of Concord, nor any of the Carolinas I am glad that is gone. I bet locals are too.

Imagine being a kid and you spent a hot summer day at the pool. You're hot, exhausted, and hungry. Then you go to this Burger King and relax in the AC and fill up on burgers. That must've been fantastic.
Wonder if the franchise owner didn't renew his contract with Burger King. Many Burger Kings are being modernized and look the same and some franchise owners may not have the money for renovations that are needed. The Burger King in Reno, PA is getting their face-lift right now and has been closed for a while now.
I miss places like this that has character and are unique. It makes the experience personalized and fun.
Fast food restaurants no longer have their own unique looks that give them the character they once had (like mission-style Taco Bells or red-roofed Pizza Huts). They all just have a square, boxy grey look now. All of them!
Lots of Burger Kings are closing there been closing the low value stores and only redoing the ones that are going good lots of the blue roofs won’t make it

Well yeah there also losing my from the pandemic my mom used to work at a burger King that opened to years ago as a general manger and was told several locations that are not making money are closing or old stores that are not worth turning into a shoe box modern lookv

I heard of that channel Yovo 68 and the 11 foot 8 bridge in Durham North Carolina. I also heard that they raised the bridge to 12 feet 4 inches and the box trucks kept on coming and slammed into the bridge. It's very fun to hear the locals say that the bridge is called the canopener because it's like a can opener shedding open the tops of the box trucks like a can opener does to a can of peaches.
This closed about two weeks ago, I ate there many times. Had no issues with the place. Friendly people.

I used to pick up burger for guys in the steel shop here sometimes. Sad it's closed. I only went through the drive thru, never experienced how awesome vintage the diner was until now, thanks!

So 1990's on the inside, one of my Burger King's still look like this and have a sea of blue in it and it opened in 1998.

That Burger King closed when they opened the one of Bagley Rd. near Olmsted Falls. There actually used to be a KFC next to it where the Dunkin' is now. When I was a kid there on Front St. The bridges didn't exist yet over the railroads. The road was at railroad grade and used to be a baseball card shop (little brown building, like a wood hut) between the two different track sets.
If you're in the Cleveland area again anytime soon, check out the intersection of Detroit Ave. & Lake Ave. in Cleveland. You will see another abandoned Burger King & an abandoned Happy's Pizza. They also recently tore down the Pizza Hut at W.117th - Detroit Ave on the Cleveland-Lakewood border. And you probably know the old Phantasy Night Club in Lakewood is being converted into the StudioW117 project. The old NTB was tore down on Detroit across the from the old Phantasy and is now a parking lot.
And just a side note: if you're ever train-fanning in Berea again, go get yourself the best chicken ever down at Boss Chick N Beer on Front St in Downtown Berea.

That happened to the bk near me one day it just closed. They took down all the signs and locked up. And that was like 5 years ago.
Just drove by here tonight and was surprised to see it closed

When I first moved to Bur - E- UH....lol I was amazed at how many Burger Kings there were in this town. This one closed and shortly after another one about a mile or two away closed as well. But there are still two others close by. The spot where this one stands, or maybe on the opposite side of Dunkin, they are supposed to be putting a Tim Hortons. If you ever come through again hit me up, we'll see about helping you find some other fun spots to explore

There’s an abandoned bk in Albion MI that’s pure 90s had blue seats retro aesthetics everything stuck in the 90s , it closed in 2012 due to unsanitary conditions

One thing they could have done was switch those old soda fountains to Coca-Cola freestyle machines, just like about 60-70%
of locations have nowadays. BK's freestyles exclusively features Surge, which is a 90s citrus soda (regular, vanilla, cherry, and grape flavored available).
its a possibility they are going to tear it down and rebuild the newer version of the building. The one burger king in my town was just recently torn down because that building had been there for 20 plus years. They are rebuilding and making it the New Building Style

How do I not remember that light blue/dark blue interior scheme at BK? Of course I don't think I have dined inside a Burger King since the mid 00s but I think I'd remember that. Sorta reminds me of 90s Taco Bell with all the "neon" coloring. Anyway yeah that is a quick close. The owner/operator must have had the closing planned for a while and likely did not tell employees until the closing occurred.

Hey Wally, there is an abandoned Sunoco on the corner of Tiedeman and Memphis in Brooklyn, OH if you're ever back out this way. Doesn't seem to show that it's closed on Google, but I drove past it on Saturday and it's very much abandoned.

I went past your favorite Walmart that was built on the landfill. They are fixing those buildings up. They got a rent a cop patrolling the parking lot. If you pull into the lot, he will chase you out.
