This is how you make a story. All the hints were there, and even if, like Osborne tells Rean at Valfame Palace, you managed to figure out a good deal of what was going on and what could happen; the knowledge does not make the impact less heart-rending. You have literaly reached the Bottom of the Abyss at this point... written painfully clear 'In Ink, BLACK AS DESPAIR'... What an ending! Both for the game, and for people like our Wandering Seeker of Love, our Noble Radiant Blademaster, our Famous Bracer... and our Shining White Rabbit. If the Ori Duology has wrenched my heart with its tragic sadness, the Trails Series has smashed it time and time again. But just the same, it has put it back together, with its beautiful tale, full of life. Long Live The Zemurian Saga! Long Live The Legend of Heroes!
If this were in line with Rean’s instability he would have actually just made a straight dash for the chancellor and alberich and ended them. I don’t think anything but plot gave the other knights the time to stop him from almost turning that place into a burial ground for everyone.
Just finished the game 24 hrs ago. I still feel empty. No game has made me feel very empty. Then I started CS4 just now with the prologue. And when Juna, Altina, and Kurt called Rean from his room, just made me cry a lot.
As much as I hate how this ended in a cliffhanger(just like the first game), I will say that the gathering of the Divine Knights is still pretty epic!!!
if you think about it, EVERYTHING about Trails of Cold Steel III mirrors that of the first game - likely to lead up to the excitement of Trails of Cold Steel II/IV (Both games ended with a person going rogue and joining the enemy - only difference, it wasn't Rean who joined Osborne - it was his ogre form)

Damn that ending! I like it! I love how they execute that cliffhanger! Trails series never fail to amaze me! The only thing i hate is i have to wait for months for CS4
Thanks to the Nameless One's attack, along with the anger and grief he felt with the death of Millium, since it's mentioned that the Great Twilight amplifies negative emotions
Man am I glad I started this series when all of it was translated. My depression after this ending would have been so much longer and more painful otherwise 😂
This scene has always made me question what caused the surge in power in the Nameless One, was it Ishmelga or just... the power of the Great Twilight in general? Given the fact that they needed the Nameless One slain, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the former... since Altina, and later Millium both went to protect Rean as he was being attacked by the corrupted holy beast, which led to Millium being slain, becoming the Sword of The End in the process as Rean slayed the Divine Beast, and setting the stage for the Rivalry of the Seven - a grab for power, which ultimately would've led to Ishmelga becoming the Great One (Or so he hoped)
Nice reference to the fact that Rean was in a Doomsday Trance, in a sense... since he killed the holy beast, and this caused the Great Twilight to engulf Erebonia, drawing them closer to war
He cut ties with Ouroboros after the Hamel incident. Ouroboros rejoined with Osborne after the end of their experiments in chapter 3 since Osborne has all the pieces remaining to complete the phantasmal blaze plan but they need to support him first and execute the twilight plan. So the attack in Crosbell by Mcburn and Campanella wasn't orchestrated.
SPOILERS FOR CSIV IN THIS THREAD . . . . . . I've felt the deepest pit in my stomach in three parts of my life: 1 - When I was a kid at my grandpa's funeral. I truly loved him and made me witness first-hand the effects of long-term cancer. 2 - Cedric giving the order to blow up the Corageous. They didn't die a heroic death, it was a tragic one. Olivier, Toval and Victor Arseid were true heroes in every sense of the word. May they rest in peace. 3 - Millium's sacrifice, and Jusis's heart-wrenching scream. May she find herself cradled in Aidios's heavenly arms and rest peacefully forevermore. Just goes to show the brilliance of Falcom's in creating characters that make me care as much as real human beings close to me. This truly was the most perfect and tragic ending in the series, everything our heroes have been fighting for was in vain, their worst fears have been realized. Hell that was intense. I knew the ending already, read it all up and watched parts of it in Japanese which doesn't help if you don't understand a single word. The localization seemed to give very clear hints towards Sen 4 tho, like even if I didn't know, I would know from the scenes who the 7th Awakener is, I would know whether Schera ends up returning or not... I wonder if they cleared it up more or not. Though definitely, this was super tense and super good. Damn thanks NISA for the localization.
the 7th awakener is kind of confirmed in the dialoge you speak of and in one of the trailers for like 1 sec.

@@chrisweech5857 that's how it was for me too. He surprised me; as did the guy that looked down and started pointing but I thought it was because of the Pleroma Grass that bloomed afterward
vDorgengoa lol exactly!! Idk why but that ending kind of made me mad even though I know there is a fourth game, I really wanted some closure on some more things after following the series so long but hopefully we get 4 sooner rather than later
@@chrisweech5857 I can't wait for CS4!! In the meantime I think I'll catch up on the Sky games and then platinum CS1 CS2 and CS3.
I'm missing exactly one trophy from 1 and 2.
Whoa, you've already gotten this far even with a early copy?
Nice. Time to see the ending in English.
55:10 I can't believe Rean going epic gamer mode literally caused WW3 and Armageddon simultaneously
Long Live The Legend of Heroes!
rip airgetlam, saddest death
I like how the ending shocked some of the enemies as well
The best rpg i ever play from no 1 till 3. Can't wait for no 4 this October, if got collector edition, im sure going for it,
If this were in line with Rean’s instability he would have actually just made a straight dash for the chancellor and alberich and ended them.
I don’t think anything but plot gave the other knights the time to stop him from almost turning that place into a burial ground for everyone.
You know you're doing something truly fucked up when even Campanella is disgusted with it.
Man I just got done watching your walkthrough and I wanted to thank you for doing this because I can't play this game because I don't have a PS4
My friend just heard me suffering through all these events, since he beat the game before me, he wanted to hear my reactions to all these events and oh yeah I was losing my breath

Rean is totally in an uncontrollable and unconscious state. Damn it
Thanks to the Nameless One's attack, along with the anger and grief he felt with the death of Millium, since it's mentioned that the Great Twilight amplifies negative emotions
Man am I glad I started this series when all of it was translated. My depression after this ending would have been so much longer and more painful otherwise 😂
OK mate. time bring the divine knight of yours to the party.
ill just finish it a while ago. so awesome.
He coulda just walked up to Chancellor Osborne and sliced him into a million pieces along with alberich but then I remembered there's a 4th game
Ah yes, the part where everything goes to shit and makes you feel completely hopeless and crushed :) Gotta love it when Falcom does that
The more I think about this game 3 was a lot like the Infinity War of this series and 4 the Endgame.
I hope an English version of Trails of Cold Steel 4 gets released in the UK & the US
Mar 2021
OST: DOOMSDAY TRANCE
When the Awakeners gather together to stop Rean.
Nice reference to the fact that Rean was in a Doomsday Trance, in a sense... since he killed the holy beast, and this caused the Great Twilight to engulf Erebonia, drawing them closer to war
It's funny how Testa-Rossa looks the least intimidating
Matches Cedric perfectly then...

since when osborne work together with ouroboros ? Does that mean McBurn&Fool attack on crossbell also orchestrated with Rufus?
He cut ties with Ouroboros after the Hamel incident. Ouroboros rejoined with Osborne after the end of their experiments in chapter 3 since Osborne has all the pieces remaining to complete the phantasmal blaze plan but they need to support him first and execute the twilight plan. So the attack in Crosbell by Mcburn and Campanella wasn't orchestrated.

I've felt the deepest pit in my stomach in three parts of my life:
1 - When I was a kid at my grandpa's funeral.
