    Ah, the fantasy of Grievous actually being formidable, I feelike the clone wars, for all its merrits, did both Dooku and Grievous a disservice in certain episodes, such as when Grievous loses to Gungans, when Dooku gets caught by random pirates, when Grievous loses a 1v1 against Ventress, or when Dooku gets put om the back foot by Anakin for some reason. The show was a masterpiece at times, but with having reoccuring villains, they did do them a little dirty from time to time. Grievous was an instrament of death, he shouldn't lose most of the fights he gets into, especually against a sith assassin who in the same arc couldn't even take a blinded Dooku in a 3v1.

    It's interesting that Obi Wan doesn't get more credit as a duelist. He actually was able to make adjustments necessary to beat all of his foes when it counted. His loss to Vader in their last match only came because he serendered himself to the force in order to used what Qui Gon taught him in order to play a better role in the training of Luke among other things. Obi Wan was a very bad dude, and his strength was in his work ethic, because he wasn't even the most talented of Jedi in the force, which is a lesson that hard work can overcome talent.

    When he duelled Yaddle, I was worried over a little plot armor favoring the old Jedi, but to my suprise the whole situation were as grim as I would like to see. Dooku's style, his power, his might, the way he is illustrated in the mini-show is so nice to see. He controlled the duel, and were allways ahead of Yaddle, I did pity her so much during the time. I'm definetly happy about the outcome, and it proved to me that yes. Dooku WAS the best Lightsaber duelist, in the Jedi order, before Anakin reached his peak.

    @eugenebelford9087 Před rokem

    It actually doesn't make sense, IMHO. At the end of the day, it's combat. Combat never, ever goes according to what's on paper. It's volatile. And that's why it's contradictory that an experienced fighter like Dooku would assume his chances against such an alien opponent would realistically be 8 out of 10. Since experience should tell him that at best he has a 6 out of 10 chance (just like Yoda or Mace or some other Jedi masters would).
    And that's not only about "out of 10" in mathematical comparison to "out of 100" or "out of 1000". Like in: Any Clone trooper has a chance to kill Yoda. So, logically, "out of 10" there is a 1 in 10 chance to kill Yoda. ... The thing is: When it's down to live or die, that's definite and that influences the outcome. It's just not the roll of a dice.

    This is why my star wars character would be an alien creature that can live a very long time and I would be decently strong in the force but with my extremely long lifespan I would become a master of all 7 forms and even the forbidden 8th form that neither jedi nor sith practice but I would be a tall gentle gaint like creature and enjoy teaching the next generation and helping a mandalorian clan that had became friends and almost family to me and believed that they had a right to exist even though many years before I was sent to go find the rumors of a supposed clan forming and killing them I would chose not to and instead be trained like a mandalorian and have my own personalized armor as a gift from the leader of this clan that was almost like a brother to me even though I was greatly be older then him and would get their help with getting the chips out of my clone legion and helping me save many jedi and gathering many of my holocrons and fleeing far out into the unknown of the outer rim to build a new temple where jedi and mandalorians are trained together as a family but that's just what I would be I would also use my skills of all 8 forms to protect my friends and allies

    Why didn't anyone go, "Use the force." on Grievous? If a couple, a few, several Jedi used the Force to prevent him from moving they could have arrested him.
    Or instead of that just pick him up slam him into the ground until he's gentle and not so froggy...

  • @robertagu5533

    Dunno if agree with that opening statement. Seeing is he's hardly the best in his Era. Dooku probably would lose ALOT more often then win against quite a few ALSO legendary adversaries. If he was one of the best EVER. without being trained by someone like Yoda or Mace or similar or BETTER then Dooku in heavy saber combat then someone like Anakin just woulda NEVER OR STRUGGLED to catch up to him instead of regularly an progressively building in power like he did in something similar to an escalator or rising elevator an less a hilly road with road blocks that we'd expect if he was THAT good.
    An Grevious... Shoulda headed Dooku's warning concerning other greats like Yoda an Mace.. seeing as Mace basically turned him into a giant sentient soda can that he then proceeded to LITERALLY Force Crush an almost made the "soda" come spilling out the nearest openings.. which shoulda been a reality check to Grevious not to get cocky. Especially if YOU'RE trained by one of the best EVER and get that sorta warning vs specific people. A mistake he made yet again with Kenobi which I guess is basically his arch rival in a way.. allowing for the Jedi to end him once an for all
    An how MUCH must the Force itself wanted to see Grevious done once an for all to direct sure shot ole Ben to aim an "uncivilized" blaster at the giant Death Cola machine an use him for target practice???

      @crownprincesebastianjohano7069 Před rokem

      Two things: It wasn't a progression. Anakin was out-dueled in swordsmanship by Dooku nearly every time they fought during the Clone Wars, including an humiliating bout a few months prior on Oba Dia. Secondly, It took Anakin leveling up to Chosen One to defeat him, and it happened so fast, under such odd conditions, that it can hardly be classified as a pure test of swordsmanship. Let's be clear, Anakin wasn't just some dude, he was the Chosen One. He was always going to surpass Dooku in Force power to the point that swordsmanship became secondary.

    • @crownprincesebastianjohano7069
      @crownprincesebastianjohano7069 Před rokem

      Also, I think the presumption that some of the greats prior to the Rule of Two were by rule better is dubious. Do we really have a basis for comparison? Just because the Jedi were less able duelists does not mean that Dooku was less able than legendary adversaries. It is entirely possible, that Dooku is the best practitioner of Form II ever, simply because he was the culmination of refinements to the form that were not available to others. Indeed, he amply demonstrated that he was so skilled that he rather easily overcame the traditional deficiencies of the form. Ultimately, Dooku I think it is clear that he was the finest pure swordsman of the era. So much so that he could duel Yoda, who is demonstrably more powerful in the Force on even terms, simply thanks to his skill with the blade. He also earned an easy draw against Mace Windu on Ridley, the man who defeated the greatest Sith who is, allegedly super amazing good and master of all Seven Forms, etc, which I actually don't believe.

    WAAAA-WA-WA-WA-WAIT!!!! In all of Star Wars LORE????? Dooku probably doesn’t even rate in the top 30 or 40 of all Star Wars LORE!!!!!! I begrudgingly accept that he’s #7 of JUST his lifetime, up until Return of the Jedi(arguably #8)! We know palpatine is better, we know Anakin is better, we know Windu is better, and despite the weird indecisiveness we’re given, we can be sure yoda is better, and as far as at their own respective heights, we can also be sure that much later Obi wan also DEFINITELY becomes better(Vader is definitely better, but that’s arguable whether u would count that as a seperate number than Anakin), and we also know that Ashoka DEFINITELY became better!
    *anyone who could go toe to toe, and beat, or even indefinitely hold their own against vader, would be able to beat dooku(Anakin ended up completely wiping the floor with Dooku, in the later part of their last battle), and Ashoka only lost to vader cause her heart was definitely not into it, and also he was only about to beat her because she stopped fighting him in order to break thru the floor, otherwise she would have at LEAST kept up with him for an indefinite amount of time, and she was winning before that, as she had definitely damaged him, while he still hadn’t hurt her at all, she was just a little tired, but no more than him.
    I’m not even gonna COUNT all the quite a few people(luke, Leia, and at LEAST 4 or 5 others)that were better than him AFTER the empire fell!
    That’s like 15 people from just the relatively short period of time from his lifetime until the end of Star Wars lore. If anyone thinks that there aren’t at least 15-25 people including ancient Sith Lords, the ancient sith order, and ancient jedi order, then thats even crazier than considering Disney Star Wars as being true canon!
    You can automatically add every major named Sith Lord as being better than him, too! I’m just quickly guessing that’s probably at least around 10 more people!
    I totally forgot-Darth Plagus too! The only reason Palpatine was able to beat him was cause he poisoned&crippled him before they battled.

    Nah. Dooku was never afraid of Grievous. Not in the least. Dooku wouldn't even need a blade to kill Grievous. Hell, even OG Grievous in 2003 Clone Wars was no match for the Count. And as well as he taught him, Dooku didn't teach him everything, clearly. As Dooku said: "A wise master does not reveal all his secrets at once."

  • @Kenji7761
    @Kenji7761 Před rokem

    Look I don't mean to over simplify a complex topic but he was literally cyborg built to fight. Of course intuition and skill are important but against Grievous it would be like fighting 4 masters at once working in perfect harmony. The shield of spinning, and the other two arms able, paired with a prefect robotic mind I just don't see how anyone could reasonably overcome that.. I mean if perfect force focus can't defend against a slightly more skilled sith, then what hope would there be against a tuned in trained mechanical monster like this. Ever play chess against the weak AI on your PC. Yeah, imagine that X1000. This is a universe of AI is common place, you think with 4 blades it cannot intercept and counter one? There are literally robots, right now in our crummy world that can move and use swords faster and more accurately than than best swordsmen. Give them four and about 100 years of tech development they can just roll over anyone? I know its a movie about space wizards and I don't want to over think it but yo, computers > human brains, especially when beating them 4 to 1 in armaments.
