it's a good move from carrick, at least he go after beat arsenal
How the hell do both Evra and Henry don't age??

if he wants a fresh start he could take a leaf out of Stevie G's book and manage outside the EPL and gain experience as his own man/identity as a coach?
Carrick misses his family time. I won't be surprised if he's out of the limelight for a while. He's always been that sort of person. Class.
@@obitriceforlife5771 Seeing what he did in the 3 games he was in charge, I know he will want to manage again and soon. He deserves his rest and to spend some time with his family for a while, but I don't expect him to be out too long.
It sums up Michael Carrick's football career as a player , he was never fully understood , a mystery surrounds this guy ..In a another life he could have earned 100 caps for England .
Like Jack Wilshere and Scott Parker
@@five1steph Carrick leagues ahead those
I think carricks style would suite like the italians and spain national team. He could slot in that cdm role they like to use
@@five1steph Carrick was one of the finest midfielder not to play much for england. He is on dif level to these 2 you just mentioned
@@japanwithMaikin jack wilshere was actually very good for England just injury prone.
He got the opportunity Ole never had. To go out as a winner. Yes he was part of the coaching set up that got us here and not much changed during his 3 games in charge, but at least he came in and steadied the ship during a very destructive storm. An absoute legend of the club, thank you for your service over the last 15 years. A humble genius in his playing days, and someone that with more experience can become a solid manager in the future. Enjoy the time off with your friends and family!
Ole built a team and did a great job but Utd now need somebody else to take it to the next level. I love how everybody insulting Ole.
Do you think if Carragher was there Henry would have placed his hand on his thigh after hearing the news about Carrick? 😁
LOL this would be very funny
Probably
He should have done it to Evra
Nice throwback
as much as i wanted carrick to stay i believe this is for the best. he's a man utd legend for a reason.
I’m glad he’s leaving because this means he believes in himself and can go on to manage. Being assistant coach 3 times just is one too many because, at some point, he’s just got to go do it his way.
Why the fuck would you want him to stay?? Just coz he was your club legend. He is not a good coach anyway. Has ole debacle taught you lot nothing??

@@laughaway7955 I am relaxed!! I was just curious is all. I’m a Liverpool supporter so it’s not a big deal who they keep or not.
Why on earth would you want him to stay
Classy, smooth and taking minimum time -- typical Carras ❤❤
He's a multi millionaire and he's missed a lot of his kids growing up . I don't blame him at all for taking a break from football. He's been an excellent servant to the club and fully deserves the 'Legend' title. Enjoy your break Mick, football will still be here if you get bored or fancy a bit of full time managing later on. Best of luck whatever you do :-)
Has he though? Footballers work shorter hours during the week than most people in regular jobs. And football is not a touring sport like cricket or tennis. The away game (domestic) is barely 2 days away once a week.
I doubt he left to spend more time with his kids.
Footballerd work half days, your crazy
@@hotbot4219 ... You're the crazy one
He’s a stand up guy. He only stayed because they had nobody else.
Yeah, he obviously didn't like thing's happening at the club & the way the glazers treated ole.
Carrick was first team coach. He was responsible for putting out a team of non triers. He should have gone..
@@jamesmaher1989 Yeah, but who put them there, when they didn't have the experience? The glazers, cause they want yes men.
he took over when the team was in low morale and after series of bad results... yet he had 2 wins and 1 draw (against Chelsea) which is great result, no doubt about it. Ronaldo was scoring lots of goals, Sancho played better too. Now imagine Ralf changes tactics and United doesn't play much better than under Ole... Then we would be wondering why Carrick wasn't given more chance in charge.
Best of luck Michael but he was oles right hand and was responsible for the lack of identity McKenna and phelan need to follow
I think he disagreed with OLE but like shearer said... You can't do more than suggest... The coach has the final say...
@@badmanno.1650 he literally played the same system and players like ole though......

@@ikkijos7616 ole also got a good result last season so it's fair to say it's time for both of them to go
Absolute baller/legend but yeah he and those backroom staff had a massive part in our recent failings so he had to go. We can't afford any sentimentality in this business.
I have always adored and respect alan shearer. That guys was forever legend and amazing striker which i always wished played for manchester united .
Carrick atleast had a clear vision on how his team's formation will be in terms of defence and attack. You could clearly see that which Ole couldn't implement staying at the helm for more than 3 years
The difference with Carrick and Ole is, Carrick have more leadership quality. In addition, Carrick been playing as a Playmaker, DM and even was once play as a CD. He is experienced in how to attack and defending, its makes him better than Ole
@@c.t6149
I totally agree. Carrick's playing position meant that he was involved in all aspect of the game, which should be great experience when it comes to managing a team. In contrast, Ole was most famous for coming on as a sub late in game with the sole responsibility of popping the ball into the opposition's goal, which is not great experience for directing a team that also contains midfielders, defenders and a goalie.
@@SandymoorFerrariClub a better orator also, Ole looks a bit meek too. Like his skin became wrinkled, hair grey and sunken eyes. Carrick stands tall, looks smarter and talks smarter than the Norwegian Mr Bean.
Surprised Theirry didnt leap over to Evra and touch his leg after the sudden news
Good man. Ive been a fan of his since he was at spurs. Classy player and person. Also He made rangnikz start a little easier and got the team back into winning ways. Draw at Chelsea beat arsenal n villareal ..all good sides and in good form..the players also love him you can see that..they wanted Carrick to go out on a positive note..I wish him the best and I think be will be back in managing very soon..
Makes me sad. Thanks for everything, Michael!
He's seen other players who played with him or against him get managerial positions so his just taking a leap of faith
In a football world chock full of unethical behaviour most of the time you have to take your hat off to Carrick. He's done the honourable thing. His ethics and how he was raised shone above his ambition at Utd. Integrity is something that is missing sorely these days of me, me, me.... he's really gone up in my estimation of him. Would be good to see him manage a lower division team and build great things together. Good luck Michael Carrick.
Unethical what does that even mean in football. Are you claiming clubs are running sweat shops?
@@bighands69 CCP (in his eyes)
I was half expecting Henry to touch Shearer's leg 🤣
It’s a wise decision and also united are stuck ain’t going anywhere with that coaching staffs. With Ole gone the coaching staff should have been sacked too, since Jose united have the same coaching staff so it’s time Others should follow Carrick.
I wish Henry was sitting beside Evra and gave the good old hand on the lap reaction with the "oooooh" face lol
Carrick has done the right thing. Good luck to him in the future.
Ronaldo King of football no one beat CR7 🔥
I believe Carrick leaving is the right thing. He needs to start his manager career else where, where he can develope his talents for managing. His constant use of underperforming players like McTominay and Maguire baffles me but I appreciate his work for the club.
Who can he play over mctominay tho? And maguires most expensive defender ever he literally has to play even though he should be playing for Norwich
@@Bgobey Maguire was actually good in the past season...just this season that he's been a problem. Fan memory is terrible
@@arielombura704 for real mate do you watch prem every week? He made countless mistakes last season aswell just hid the fact he’s shit by scoring against crap teams at the euros
@@Bgobey yeah every game. Why was the narrative and ,it was generally accepted, that he needed a better partner than Lindelof? We had quite a decent defensive record last season and in my opinion the problem lay mostly in the midfield and goal keeping. Not as bad as it has been this season though. This season he's been shit but that could easily be explained by burn out, the guy was on a record run of games before he got injured. We have to admit that the only good player we've had this season so far is Degea and that's overstating it...he's been decent at best, and perhaps CR7 who if you take away his goals is a bit of a liability.
Now let's see what happens under an actual coach...fans probably know shit about football, like they say if you listen to the fans you'll soon be be seated in the stands with them. There's a reason Pep wanted Maguire, a reason Ole kept selecting him and a reason he is the number one pick in England. I'd rather take those managers opinions on Maguire than a fan's opinion with all due respect.
@@arielombura704 my opinion is irrelevant mate. But fortunately for this opinion Harry does the talking on the pitch for me . He’s horrendous and if pep would have got him he would of shifted him straight away. Maguire needing a better partner than lindelof when he’s probably just as good as maguire

Now that would have been a Strike partnership worth seeing at a club.
Shearer at No 9 and Henry just behind at No 10 (Goals Galore)
Look at it for his point of view he’s been team with sir Alex, moyes, van Gall, mourinho, and ole……he’s been a coach……he knows what the job of full time coach is……and he knew if he was a player in rag nicks team how much he uses his assistant managers around him….he’s smart he knows he can’t do that, and he loves the club enough to step away and let ragnick do his job with his assistant….meanwhile he steps away with an unbeaten Record…. Carrick is playing chess and he damn well good at it too..
that was so well said alan shearer , huge respect
Henry is always surprised to see managers leaving
From this match you realized ole's tactic and Carrick's tactic was very different
Michael Carrick showed that he has what it takes to be a manager better than Ole as evidenced in his 3 matches as interim manager. He has improved their play. What happened, did Ole not confer on to his coaches about the style, tactics and players selection?? Baffling to say the least.
Ole had a similar start if not a better one after mourinho left
He’s a midfielder who understands linking defense to offense. He’ll be a great manager and United will one day come back for him after he manages England

I’m surprised Henry didn’t touch Shearer’s leg when the announcement was made of Carrick’s resignation

The guy said "Aight my job here is done" after beat Arsenal
Carrick didn't change much when it comes to selecting the team or formations...the style is the same we were lucky to get away with a draw against chelsea, so clearly he and ole were on the same page and Carrick needs to take accountability for the present condition of man united. Having said that he will always be a legend just like ole.

Why did Carrick decide to leave United? It's obvious, he wasn't waiting around to be sacked when Rangnick brought his own people in.
No, Rangnick wanted him to stay.

I am Arsenal fan, but I believe Michael looks like a real deal as a manager.
He was a calm and knew what it takes to win games that I don’t see in Ole
Nonsense! Against Villarreal, Man United should have been 3 nil down before half time, if it wasn't for poor finishing from Villarreal.
Against Chelsea was the same thing, Chelsea missed so many chances to kill the game in the first half.

As a Ronaldo fan Carrick had a plan he wanted Ronaldo to be a super sub but it didn't work out because they were playing a defensive game besides Ronaldo is 36 he needs to rest
Good bye legend
Carrick should manage a championship team and prove himself and sign Fred because he loves him so much
How many TV company's do the Premier League expect fans to pay out for. Do they realise fans don't earn footballers wages.
Carrick the spoofer was at the wheel with the Solskjaer shambles.
I think there should be a Man utd all or nothing this season.

Is very wrong to let Carrick leave man united like that,
I bet Newcastle are kicking theirselves now. And a Geordie too.
Apparently he's a close friend of Eddie Howe. Just saying...........
Carrick was at club for 15 yrs as coach and failed in a big way. He should have walked when ole was sacked and I believe Rangnik wanted him gone asap. Shearer great striker and nice guy but not too much between ears imo. Read between lines. Rangnik wanted him gone and he will bring in his own coaches that understand his system. Hes not here to babysit anybody. He does not have the time. Club statement was very kind to him as between Carrick and fletcher they were the poorest midfielders i have seen in my lifetime play for United.
All the useless coaching staff should be sacked and allow the new manager to bring in people who have a clue what to do
Most harmful thing for United right now is their big mouthed ex players who were great players but don't know nothing about coaching and how to manage the team.
New broom sweeps clean. Obviously, Ralf has no space to accommodate Mike or does he have any plans for him.
Thierry Henry was spot on.

Not Surprising and hardly rocket science.
Only beating Arsenal by one goal is so embarrassing he decided to go.
Please carrick stay..mu
I actually think it was quite rude of him. He was the one that proved ole had to go by getting 2 wins and a draw just by defending a little more stoutly. In my opinions he's undermined his status as a united legend.

Evra was a great United player, but all this drivel about United DNA has to stop. SAF had no connection to United before arriving. Sir Matt had no connection to United before arriving. Ole was full of United DNA, and arrived when we were 7th. He stayed just over 3 years, spent £450 million, and left us in 8th!
We need elite management and coaching. Not one single ex-SAF player has been a successful manager. Many have had jobs, but none have ever threatened to win a major trophy.
Before Klopp went to Liverpoop, did he have the DNA? Before Tuchel arrived at the Kremlin, did he have the DNA? Did Guardiola have Plastic DNA?
United are trapped in the past and must be dragged kicking and screaming into the present by a skilled manager and his staff.
Evra deserves an Oscar
