Great information. Something not really talked about. You covered it well. Thank you for covering it.
My pleasure! Thank you so much for watching Dandelie! It was a little bit of a different video :)
Nice topic. Since you mentioned oily rags, I'd like to suggest a metal can with a lid to hold them after use. In case the rags do spontaneously combust, they will be in an enclosed container to prevent the flames from spreading. Even safer, submerge the oily rags in water within the can so they can't combust. Cheers!
Thats what I do. A fire needs oxygen and the metal can greatly reduces it. I also keep the can outside of the shop/garage.
What a great suggestion! Prevent the problem before it even occurs. That is something I've got on my "to buy" list. That would have been a great addition to add to this list. Thanks so much for the reminder and the suggestion!
Another great video thanks for sharing Bryan !
My pleasure! Thanks for watching Michael!
Wow Brian, that’s a lot of real cool stuff. Thanks for posting.
My pleasure! Thanks as always for watching heyStarfish! :)
Another quality video sir! An air filter system is a must have after owning a Laguna branded unit for some time. They are terrific. I have been an RZ dust mask user for years but really like the over ear straps on your brand. Will have to check it out. The smoke and carbon monoxide detector is something I hadn’t thought of. I have a gas turbine fired up in the winter and while I usually leave my garage/workshop tilt door ajar it still smells like gas after a while (maybe I need a fart zone sign hehe). Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺
Oh nice! I've heard good things about those RZ masks! Yeah, i had just a carbon monoxide reader in my shop back in the day. Would have really liked to have this one, especially with the wifi connectivity. Thank you so much for watching John! Really appreciate it!
I enjoy all your videos.
I appreciate that Ivan! Thanks so much for watching!
Great job you should do a 6 month or one year review on the air system. Keep up the great work
Excellent idea. I'd like to do that on a lot of tools that I've gotten over the last year. Great idea and thanks so much for watching Robert!
This was a big surprise! Some interesting stuff and not too techy for most people. We’re living in a different world where one feels compelled to monitor the security in your shop for people who would steal tools. Sad, really how necessary this has become. Your shop is certainly getting some great upgrades. Well done.
@@michaelkelley6905 I know, I think all of the theft is unfortunately a side effect of the drug use in this world. I'm much more catious than I used to be. I remember the days of leaving doors unlocked, etc. :(
Great video with nice picks! I particularly found the air filtration system with ionization and the power center interesting.
One of my goals this year is better air filtration and I had not considered ionization as something to look for… but we also keep our trash can inside the garage, so sometimes there are odors. This is cool.
Oh, and the camera was a good pick as well. While I was watching, I was thinking it would be nice to have two cameras, facing each other. Have one of them set up with the light and the alarm while the other just silently records and sends you the notification. That way if someone does break in, they see the one camera, and might try to disable it, while overlooking the other one that’s not bringing attention to itself.
Oh great! That would be really nice with the garbage in the garage having that ionizer. I really like this camera so far. I may get another one in the near future and point it in the other direction. Blink makes some good cameras as well, I've had those in parts of my house before and like those (I think they are made by amazon and they work well with alexa). Thanks so much for watching as always Damon!
Great video Bryan as always these things are just as important and maybe even more important without are health we have nothing. So great video in my book
I totally agree. The older I get the more I DON'T take my health for granite. Thanks so much as always fro watching Jim!
Ya that’s for sure Bryan the old we get we have to think about are health more and more I’ve learned that over the last year with my dad’s health and seeing him go down hill has made me start taking better care of myself. So keep up the great work and videos
@@jimrosson6702 Yep! I need to lose about 100lbs. That's on my list. I think that would help me more than anything! :)
@@FlynndoggWoodwork that’s not an easy thing to do Bryan I’ve been on that journey most is my life but been working on my weight for the last year myself being diabetic don’t help either. I wish you the best of luck on your journey.
@@jimrosson6702 Appreciate that Jim!
Good stuff, as always. Thanks, especially, for the info on the air handler. I'm checking it out now. (Oh...and the dust mask, too. My lungs say Thank You.)
I know right. I’m working on a project for the drill press in a couple of weeks and I used both! Thanks so much for watching Scotty!
I will have to check out the mask. I have a few but that one looks much more comfortable.... I'm not excited about the security camera in the shop... don't want spying eyes watching while I'm puttering and wondering what I'm doing. Same reason dad built his shop without a phone line all those years ago.... Still thanks for the Saturday video, enjoy your weekend and keep up the great content.
Haha! I never thought about that! It's funny you mentioned that because my wife saw my ipad going off when I was down there and she "logged in to see me" One feature i didn't mention in this video is you can also talke through the camera, which is exactly what she did! :). I'll put a towel over the camera when I'm in there! :)
Nice video
Thanks so much Carlos! I appreciate you watching! :)
Interested in your shop lighting especially the lights you have under the Jet air filter.....maybe a future video topic
Oh good idea! It’s kind of Jerry rigged up there but I like the light! Thanks so much for watching Craig!
Dogg, man, the shop will be worthy of even more security once the lathe is set up. Also, I think you need the tshirt that has some grade 10 nuts on it with the saying, "Are you looking at my nuts?" Dogg, man, there were a lot of words in this one. Effing Burt, I'm sure he's involved. A really good feature on that camera would be a co-axially mounted .50 cal for those who'd want to mess with your tools. Good stuff, thanks.
Haha! I wish I could make the excuse that the reason I haven't opened that lathe is because I didn't have the cameras up yet! :). I really need to get that thing up and running. Love the cameras though. Not only is it great for burglers but I caught one of my sons freinds in there and that is probably even more important. Don't want one of those little guys getting hurt.
@@FlynndoggWoodworkI agree that the cameras are a great addition for safety and security. Kids are curious cats...make sure you use all your lockouts. Woodworking tools revolve violently, as you well know, and in a blink of an eye there could be a tragedy so I'm glad you caught the rascal. Hopefully a stern talking to will keep his curiosity at bay.
@@themeat5053 Oh yes, they got a talking too alright. They didn't do anything other than look in, but still kind of scary. I'm locking my internal door in my barn now just to add a little more security! :)
My shop is in half our basement and the ceiling height is only about 7 1/2 feet with exposed floor joists. I am 6'7" tall. Is there an air filtration system that doesn't have to be hung from the ceiling? Also does eye protection fog up with the mask you demonstrated?
Both great questions. I personally don't think any of them have to be hung from the ceiling. I actually have this one permanently sitting on top of a file cabinet right now. Right next to my sanding station. Especially with your low ceilings You would be aok to have it sitting on top of something. As for the masks, that is one of the reasons I like this brand is because the exhale point on the masks really lets the air flow out so it doesn't creep up and get your goggles foggy. Great questions and thanks for watching Melandterryshu!
@@FlynndoggWoodwork Thank you, man. I really enjoy your videos. Great job!
@@melandterryshu My pleasure! :)
I need the TALL sizes on those shirts! 3xlt please
You and me both. I'll look to see if they have B&T sizes. I also don't like how expensive they are either. I'd like to find something that's a little cheaper with the B&T sizes. Thanks so much for wtaching Jim!
Im starting to think Burt is the mastermind. I almost said that with a straight face.
Don't tell anyone, that will be our little secret! :)
@@FlynndoggWoodwork lololololol
I'm wondering if I should stop watching your videos as it seems every time I watch one it costs me money. I have gotten a lot of tips on new products from watching a "flat board" poster as opposed to a turner, but I do enjoy your output, keep up the good work, but it does seem to be expensive.
I know right. This channel gives me an excuse to buy a lot of these tools. Really like that camera in this one. It's been something I've needed for quite some time. Thanks as always fro wtaching Pat!
Brian, would that mask work if a person wears glasses?
Yes! I actxually try and wear safety goggles (When I remember). Those black dots are are valves that allow your exhale to excape. As long as you have it on correcdtly, I haven't noticed a problem. Great question and thanks for watching!
@@FlynndoggWoodwork I just purchased one and it was 5% off. I know, not what you would call a huge savings but it helps.
Thanks
@@a9ball1 Oh nice! Every little bit helps! I'm usually as frugal as it gets for most things! :)
@@FlynndoggWoodworkit arrived today and fits just fine with my glasses on. Sure thank you for the heads up!
