COP should always be held online, or it should change its name to Bad Cop. Make agreements write up contracts, then sign at UN security counsel. We don't need too many these travel vacation for world leaders causing a large amount of polluting.

Thanks for your detailed reporting on COP28 Palki. My question what is the difference between KYOTO GLOBAL WARMING and now CLIMATE CHANGE are their objectives the same from its inception and how will our Planet benefit with Fossil Fuels condemned continually and very vital in our 21st living with renewable energy alternatives which are not sustainable . I write with concern and interest as to where the UN is taking the planet. Can my question and concern be read at COP28 to generate meaningful discussion with World leaders. Keep up the good work Palki.

The funds should come from profits made by nations.
The wild fires can be history if distance between trees is widened and distance between forest and habitation also increased. Decreasing forest fires is an achievable target. This must be communicated to the govt. EPA must take a lead in this. How the distance between trees is increased can be tracked by drones.

Try looking at the data from per capita vs gross pollution before jumping to conclusions.
An average American pollutes as much as 110 Ethopians. An average Indian pollutes 0.89 kgs per day vs 24.00 kgs per day for an American.
I hope you get the sense of proportion.

In this climate change issue, Europeans and other countries produce much much CO2, and are still producing more but don’t want to stop or control it. These meetings are useless…
