The intact tradition of the Great Lady of the Temple extending to Romanos the Melodist, a Syrian poet who wrote the Akathistos Hymn (and many extensive Kontakia no longer sung) in the VII c. speaks to the Syriac/Syrian contiguity with Temple spirituality enduring from the Apostles and being taken up by the Church catholic to become mainstream by Romanos’ time.
The remarkable fidelity of the Church to its roots seems to be entirely lost on such lights as Bart Ehrman, whose schoarlship has read him out of Christian faith altogether.
If we learn our own Tradition with eyes of faith and curiosity as Dr. Barker does, we will be surprised to learn that all of it is Truth and God is forever faithful to his beloved people, from the beginning to the eschaton.

The Masoritic edit of the text might indicate that the responsible scribes were the original Postmodernists.
As Mr. Barker points out, convenient passages are altered with an agenda defined by a consistent pattern. But this sort of thing is not reserved for the eradication of the Devine Feminine. While it may have started here, it worked so well that it was extended to other ideas. (Corruption is never satisfied once it tastes a bit of success.)
This sort of, “creative editing,” can also be found in two other areas: 1) The elimination or obscuration of prophecies regarding the two Houses of Judah and Israel, called, “The Whole House of Israel..” That which includes all twelve tribes appears to be ironically, a post-Second Temple version of Rabbinic, “Replacement Theology,” to where the Tribes of Judea and Benjamin attempt to assume unto themselves the identity along with all the promises meant for the combined Sons of Jacob.
(I would love to have been a fly on the wall within the Zionist councils which decided on the future name of their nation as, Israel, rather than Judah.)
The second of course is, 2) the reinterpretation of verses in the Tanakh which describe the Messiah as a man to instead the Jewish people. By extension then, this would alter their eschatological aspirations which in turn could have considerable geo-political ramifications.
I find it a curious historic coincidence that Darbyite Dispensationalism and Zionism date back to the same decade of the 19th Century, i.e., the 1840’s. Without Dispensationalism, which swept into the Christian Evangelical seminaries like a storm, I argue Zionism would never have gotten the necessary political traction within Post-Millennial Christianity, engaged at the time in creating Colonies for Christ, nor Preterist Christianity, confident the issue had already been settled.
(That was quite the decade on many levels; and, when considered all together, I view to have had such a profound civilization-wide impact to have earned the title, “The Second Axial Period.”)
This, I should think, would give, “Messianic-Zionist,” Evangelical Christians some pause if they fully understood the potential political ramifications if not the impact upon their Theology, which they seem to have glazed over…these self-proclaimed experts on, “The Apoycrophon.” Given the influence of their own eschatological speculations upon their political efforts one would think this a concept they could readily grasp, though this does not seem to be the case.
The infusion of, Dispensationalism, and its odder step children such as, “the Rapture,” (intended to completely remove Christians from the political discourse,) into the world view of the most politically influential wing of American Christianity has been such a resounding success that it can only inspire a reluctant admiration.
What will they think of next? The Gospel According to Alien Space Brothers from the Pleiades? “Oh, now you’ve really gone ‘round the bend, haven’t you!”

I cannot wait until she figures out that the Goddess Isis or Ishtar is the same Goddess that she is speaking about. She is. She is also Asarte. She is not always "the virgin". The virgin is just one aspect of the goddess. She is also the goddess of love and beauty, who some know as Aphrodite. It's the same Goddess. The Greeks borrowed Aphrodite from the East, who was Ishtar or Inanna, who are the same. And Inanna is Asarte. Who is also the original Goddess of the ancient hebrews. That is her name.
Every goddess is just an aspect of her. Sometimes she is a warrior goddess, sometimes she is the virgin, sometimes she is the crone. She is meant to represent the different phases of what it is to be a female. She is Mother Earth, Gaia. It's the same Goddess.

Margaret's theology goes specifically back to the Jewish roots of the Christian faith, in particular as it relates to the first temple and what happened when the Goddess was ejected and the temple ultimately destroyed. A theologian of Margaret's stature is, I'm sure, aware of mythology relating to Ishtar and other semitic goddesses.

    the rev 12 woman
she is one of the two witnesses like Joseph with the sun moon and stars. and travails in prayer like all the prophets did. shining like the sun means she will be transfigured soon then the Son of God will shine 7 times brighter!
a singing woman pet prophet like in Hosea 2; 14 to 19.
she really really pisses off the devil and laughs at him. she gets thousands of sweet new names now every day and can give people new names. you will laugh when you see all the jokes about her in the bible. Jesus is brilliant and made it plain who she is and hid it in plain sight all over the Holy Bible. Now its being revealed
[2Ki 19:21 KJV] 21 This [is] the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, [and] laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.
