  • A very simple and effective choke using the collar with the grip thumb in just behind the neck and the same leg as the arm.
    Make sure to have your opponent sideways for maximum efficiency.

    Great tip. Have been wondering how to make it less of a crank and make it a proper choke. Thanks a lot

    Awesome choke! I normally set it up with a gi tail instead of the collar grip. But doesn’t make a whole lot of sense if you don’t do lapel stuff and already have the tail there

      That is a very strong way and good option too

    How do you stop opposition from blocking your foot when you attempt to step over?

      I would look to trap their arm and then windshield wiper to get my leg free agsin to do the same move, but yes it can be annoying especially if they know it s coming

    Sorry but i have to make a correction here, disappointed for a black belt to make such a junior mistake. You say "you can sometimes do it form bottom"-Favio Canto does this in guard, perhaps the sidecontrol variation is yours? i couldnt say.

    • @dinubucalet
      @dinubucalet  Před 2 lety +5

      Sure you can do it from guard, without control on lower body like from bottom side control this will be hard to pull off.

      From bottom means from bottom of guard, and when this guy shows it "from bottom" he is showing a variation of the finishing position from the bottom of guard. Canto does it not only from guard but right off the takedown. I have the Canto choke video series although I haven't looked at it probably in two years. It's cool that this guy is teaching it from another position, and he never claims that he invented it. You don't have to pee in our cornflakes :(

      @@PeterJames143 lol I guess that was the new blue belt in me trying to sound like I knew something ,it's the semantics. I never implied he invented it u can do the choke from anywhere.i thought about deleting but I think your response is helpful
