Poor Bernardo 😂 thank you for taking one for the team hahaha
That’s exactly what I was thinking!! Lololol
Henry is just going crash test dummy on him. What a DUDE!!! Respect!!!
Seriously. There should be a go fund me for Bernardo's joints.
I laughed out loud when Bernardo said after Henry relieved some pressure ‘thanks so much Henry I appreciate it’ . Yes, I’m older and I love this position.
Henrys Jiu Jitsu is amazing, it’s on another level. I’ve taken 7-8 private lessons with Henry and all I can say is he will Blow Yer Mind. Ps I’ve felt Henrys side control pressure and it is Absolute Death. Great Course
Carl Canefield is a legend!
@@HenryAkinsBJJ awesome stuff Henry!! Glad you’re doing well brotha 🙏🏽
I want a reverse roles series of episodes, of Bernardo showing techniques to famous black belts.
His over under passing videos are good
Bernardo…you’re a champ. Just taking the abuse the whole time for our benefit.
Thank you so much!!! 4 months in and never landed a submission... tonight I landed 3... 2 were with this
I am new to Jiu Jitsu and after couple of months tried to emulate many teaching methods and Henry's was the one that is easy to understand and works really well. I am amazed how effective it is. Side control was the most successful move that I have learnt from Henry and it is becoming my signature move 🙂
Im 56 and only just started jujitsu. Im a sponge of information at the minute and cant learn quick enough. Content like this isnt too technical to learn but brilliant effectiveness.thanks
I tried this today in sparring with two different partners. Both struggled under the pressure even though I missed some important details from the video. Still got the americana on one of them. Great video, thanks for sharing.
Bernardo is so unintentionally funny, freaking love this guy hahahah
I honestly try not to watch instructionals but I just eat up Henry’s teachings. Thank you Henry and Bernardo!
Sensei Bernardo great content. Still waiting for the day you get Sensei Rickson as a guest.
Bernardo, your channel is some of the best teaching out there. It is an incredible supplement to time on the mat. 🙏
Also Henry does an amazing job explaining these concepts. Much respect guys!
Thank you to both of you...Poor Bernardo (the sounds he is making are simply hilarious)
Great video! Thank you Bernardo!
notes to self:
5:49 americana here
11:06 take mount. needs good tricep control
Duuude! Another incredible lesson, but also the Rickson story, awesome!
All the style points!!! New thing to shoot for if I get that underhook... going to be so fun!
I love this, thank you I am always getting to kesa with the "telephone position" but then I go to side control, never knew there were so many options from them, thx.
Henry, you are my new favorite BJJ teacher. You do an outstanding job explaining moves that actually work.
I have all his instructionals really great teacher so much details
Thanks Charles I’m glad my videos have been so helpful for you!
That was amazing Henry, I like the kesa position and that was super helpful.
6:45 had me in pain😅
Huge fan. Henry changed my game .
Thank you Henry, I’ve been practicing this on our open mat rolls and it’s worked like a charm. The amount of times I’ve submitted people from this position using your different choices of submissions..👍👊🏾
Awesome as always thank you guys
Truly unbelievable. Awesome
Henry is truly an amazing instructor!
Honestly, I use to teach this to my white belts in judo as this was a yellow belt hold. Its the little details that counts. Henry's ability to teach is at the highest level.
I’ve been doing the underhook trick for a long time but this was helpful in some new ways to attack
This is amazing!
really informative thanks
This blew my mind!
I love how everyone is now teaching kuzura kesa gatame this is a pin in judo but I love the extra little details Henery puts into this great job
This is a game changer for me. thank you!
Ok im sold. This guy teaches very well.
Def buying his instructional!
I will be using this non stop thank you
Wow, thank you SOOOOO much. Best side control attack I've ever seen. Im only fairly new to Jiu jitsu but logic suggests this IS the best there is.
This is gold
superb detail
My favourite part of this video are Bernardo's sound effects. Thanks Bernardo !!
Thank you so much for this game-changing instructional video / comedy sketch.
Fine top work!
Thx you so much gents. This is beautiful and gels with me . I have subscribed to both of you guys. I love your pressure games. Magical
Grande Bernardo sofreu! Imagino a pressão! Obrigado
Henry’s details add so much pressure from the side control. The way he pushes and pulls with his feet is fantastic! Biggest thing for me is keeping my weight to the same side of my legs just across his pec so I don’t get rolled.
Gut your oppents body into four quarters when you are in this position you wanna apply pressure to the top two quarters mainly the quarter closest to you it's called 3 point pressure used alot in judo
I just recently started teaching judo at a bjj academy and they all talk about my pressure it's something taught in judo learned it back in the late 1980s
Wow!! Just amazing!!!
2-stripe white belt here. I got 2 taps this morning on different guys with this side control. Once with the choke on a 1-stripe white belt heavy weight and once with the Americana on a 3-stripe white belt light weight. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing.
Great details
Its enjoyable to watch because we all know how much it sucks being stuck in side control..
This is incredible
Feel bad for Bernardo, great information. Thanks.
We call this 3 point pressure. However the detail of the attacks are amazing. Great video.
I am a Judo guy , and this is pure gold , i already pinned/tapped bjj guys with traditonal kesa gatame , but this is just unffair.
Bernardo you're a soldier for the cause!
God bless u Bernardo
Brilliant
The comedy of Bernardo alone is worth watching this video. The technique lesson is pretty good too 😂
Henry goes into a lot of detail of his experience on the Cleared Hot podcast from 2 years ago. Recently revisited that and it's amazing. Great instructor with so much knowledge!
That was a really fun podcast with Andy, thanks for listening
I’m doing this. Amazing
The details at 2:31 and “popping the elbow at 1:58 are crucial. Otherwise they just frame and have a super easy escape where they can reverse the position…. Don’t ask how i found that out…
That was awesome Henry. Thank you! Poor Bernardo. Way to take some punishment for the cause!
Merci bernardo!
This is so good. The technique and the talk on breathing control is all awesome. Not nearly enough likes on this video.
Pilhcouety ysanjpilhcourt d sure v even close Reader pilhcouety ysanjpilhcourt even r u experienced professionals right kind experience right in the morning I Amadeus pilhcouety da
I laughed at the sounds Bernardo was making, thank you bro you really took one for the team.
Dean Listen vs Josh Barney with this kasa from side control. It’s a Catch wrestling chest lock. Judo players use as well. Excellent teacher!
When he said thank you so much Henry I laughed poor Bernardo
Great judo pressure I know the pain he is feeling I learned this from Okada sensei I japan
I know Henry and his brother pretty well going back decades from Oklahoma City.
He’s a really humble guy.
🥋😎🤙🏾
Brilliant!
Sensei Henry Akins
Hidden Jiu Jitsu🙏
Kazure Kesa Gatame 🔥
Think you coach
The 6:21 YESS from Bernardo is absolutley hilarious! It’s a ”get me the hell out of here-yes”..😄
Beautiful
"THANKS Henry so much I appreciate it!" almost gave me a stroke from laughter.
Henry is the man...would love to know what kind of guard you play though. I think everything on bjjfanatics is escape or top-based
Kazure is a magical position if you know how to use it. Henry certainly does. If you've never played with kazure kesa gatame, this is a great place to start.
u took my breath away...........
Excelent video!!!..what is an adcuate way by defend or escape that so uncomfortable position (side control with both underhook)
Henry's gi is top notch, like the plain style
Okay Henry huge honour for me to breathe
Somebody did a version of this to me yesterday. I could not believe how painful it was. I started laughing and tapped, lol.
5:26 is so funny. Basically me every class when I didn't see a move coming.
Huge HONOR and PAIN :)
poor Bernardo he was in pain for 80% of the whole video😅😅🤣🤣
I have bought a lot of courses from Henry on his personal website and other instructors here on bjj Fanatics and I have to say that he like so many instructors need to have follow up instructionals or a question and answer session because their first instructional leaves so many unanswered questions to make the first instructional practically useless. For example, there are guard retention instructionals by big name instructors where they will show you all their so called amazing techniques but when you go on the mat you get passed and smashed because these instructors leave a lot of details out and they don’t show what to do about the what if’s that will arise.
All hail KING HENRY!!!!!!!
I just noticed that small detail on how he layed flat then kept the pressure to rolling him up tight like that and his side and ribs are over his chest and lungs while pulling his right arm up tighter wow big difference
The closed captioning reads him as Harry Aching.
Henry, can you give some tips about how to pluck the near arm, especially with a strong opponent?
fun fact kuzure kesa gatame actually translates to "super chill position" in English you cant tell me otherwise now.
Excelentes técnicas e explicações! Saudações do Brasil!
Yes.
Bernardo closed his eyes and went to his quiet place. Lol thanks Bernardo
After watching this video i became more interested in breath control than the actual side pressure technique.
I saw a very ancient description of a specific Jiu Jitsu style that i can’t recall which has Henry’s position with the hand against the head in multiple poses (side control, mount, etc). I never understand why. Perhaps Henry is reinventing these positions.
PS. If you look closely, Henry’s hip is OFF the ground so ALL his weight is transferred into Bernardo. It triples the pressure on Bernardo. Very subtle.
The detail at 5:05 is really cool. Would this work if trying to finish the Ezekiel??
Thank you both! I'm perhaps too new, but I've been trying to do the kesa-getame type of pin that you've been showing, but keep getting rolled over by my training partners (especially if they're bigger). Any advice on not getting flipped? Thank you!
Im not an expert. but no one has answered you. your hips are to close to their body. the leverage point is to near to the fulcrum , slide your hips out and sit on your butt. control the far side shoulder by picking it up when you feel them move/roll to sweep
@@nnguyen3482 Thanks for such an insightful and kind reply! That makes a lot of sense.
11:56 darce available, Shotgun Armbars, and triangle.
