Good interview. It's good to know that Lenny et al sees the gummy weapon situation and is looking to solve it. The only caveat is that even if they fix it, you're still left the gummy weapons of yore. I don't think they'll ever opt to do a weapons pack that re-releases the previous weapons in whatever solution fixes the gummy issue. Albeit, one never knows. Maybe Lenny will push them to do it. :) I must admit that the direction Classified is headed, seems to be largely inspired by Super 7, with all the character and cartoon homages. I am here for it. Also, good clarification on the 60th Anniversary figures. I sure hope they ordered more than usual because those are going to sell out fast.

Great interview as usual.
Interesting to hear about the rationale behind the influx of products at the year end. UK isn't expecting quite as much pre-Christmas, still it is quite the deluge but better that than miss out on so many great looking figures.
We need accessory packs for the missing cow leg!!!
Lenny mentioned switching accessories and the cow leg with Crocmaster. I used Ray Arnold’s arm from the Jurassic Park Amber collection with Fiona!
There is several Botbots that turn into food like a ham hock for example.
We need Pythona, Raven, Leila, Bushido and Raptor.
Zartan's daughter Zanya is perhaps more beneficial to the setting than something "contentious" like Cobra La, heck i'd rather have the Drug dealers in the line (and i'm not even kidding) who better to want to shoot at than someone Gi Joe & Cobra both actively dislike.
That said Pythona etc.. is perhaps well suited to a Giftset release where she can be properly quarantined away from the mainline. Cobra needs Cobra La about as much as Transformers needed Orion Pax (i.e. they didn't)

Ive been soooo looking forward to this video and it has great never before known information that were revealed.... I found it interesting that Croc Master's meat hook was originally supposed to come with a cows leg to feed Fiona. Love hearing these weird things about the figures and their thoughts process when designing their loadouts. Still think it was a missed opportunity to not include a punching bag for Big Boa or the Kangaroo and I wish that instead of a extra head they would have given Quick Kick some shoes because like I've said before, having a guy going into battle without boots or footwear makes no sense.... Look at the first Die Hard movie if you have any questions. Can't wait to see the second part to this interview should be interesting. Please don't forget to ask if they plan to make a accessory pack of unbent rifles and swords or other items such as Fiona's cow leg , fried chicken leg, harnesses, extra ropes, cloth goods, things like that..... Hope we will find out if Metalheads ball joints on his thighs are removable when he isn't lugging around those missile?
They reusue every weapon eventually so you should have the chance to get "an example" of it at some point.
I was especially annoyed about Shooters weapon being so bad as it is as her whole character rotates around that weapon so to have it be a bendy bit of rubber is just sad, and her legs are not much better to be honest.
There was also the issue of floppy figures too such as Crimson Bats and Firefly Vs 2..

I can kinda dig that python patrol copperhead and officer which would look good with a bit of rit dyeing.
It's great that Lenny brings such wonderful designs to the action figures.
Why is Hasbro hiding these nicely designed action figures in WINDOWLESS boxes?
Hasbro needs to put these action figures in proper window boxes to show the world the cool desgins so people will want to buy the action figures.

I would prefer an albino croc with a PP Croc Master.
Indeed. After all, they gave us the baby albino croc.
Burgundy is appropriate for the Python Patrol there is no reason they can't make another Crocmaster at some point with a white croc (I think he deserves all 3) though how about making the 3rd Croc an Accessory ?
Instead of making a figure and a pet, make a pet with accessories.
For example the Kangaroo or the Igunana can be a key item. Or even a Gi Joe dog that isn't Junkyard.
We need window boxes so the factory can more easily perform quality control.
Also, customers need to be able to check their pruchases to make sure they have the right figure in good shape with the proper load out.

I always try to stay as positive as possible and that is one reason I love your channel. Very positive. The GI Joe team is killing it BUT someone really needs to ask them about the quality control issues. I know it's not their fault but they need to hear about it. The new Retro Firefly has the worst torso as it is crazy loose. Mine isn't too bad but I seen so many reviews showing him being terrible. I bought 3 version 1 Snake Eyes not including the special one that I keep in box. I opened 2 of them and they have very loose ab crunches like firefly and extremely loose hips. My Tunnel Rat has the bobble head issue like many others have. Very loose neck joint. The guns are always bent. Not the biggest deal but dang.
Still my favorite line Hasbro has. I hope they fix these issues. Excited to see what else they come out with.
We discussed the weapons issue and as for the other QC issues I will bring it up on the next part but they already know about it.
@@TheFullForcePodcast There is a question that might be interesting to ask Emily/Lenny. After all their hardwork, hours put in, discussions, wins, losses on designing the figure and getting it out the door for production....only to have it come back with these QC issues, how does it make them feel? It hits us hard...and we didn't work on them. So it must be a double impact to them.
I would love to know the relationship between the vendors (freelance 3D artists) and Lenny. What is the back and forth look like in terms of the design process. Does Lenny handle art and then pass it over or how does that work? I think this would be super interesting.
Super random too but I wonder how they select the weapons for each of the loadouts? Is there a separate department that does research, for example Big Ben has the double barrel AR but its a real life weapon, how does one choose that weapon for Big Ben? (Which is super cool btw)

Incredible interview! For the second part can you ask them if they would consider making one off episodes to introduce characters like wolf spider? Help to understand the character and get him into the cannon.
It would be nice to get a Kwinn the Eskimo in classified form. And how awesome would it be to get the Oktober Guard! The latter probably won’t happen though, due to real world war & politics.
Certain members of the Oktober Guard from countries that aren't involved (directly, at least) in the Russia-Ukraine conflict probably aren't off limits as long as the soviet iconography is left off the figures. Daina even joined the GI Joe team in the comics, so we could potentially get a figure of her in that look. Alternatively, Daina, Horrorshow, and Shrage could be made with Czech, Georgian, and German flags on their shoulders (akin to Big Ben) and have their headgear replaced with berets in the colors of their countries' respective special forces or other caps or helmets representative of those countries and make them Joes. It may not be as fun as getting the whole team, but it's probably better than getting none of them.
Since big Ben has Falkland island associations, maybe we should just separate current world nonsense from imaginary soldier toys. This is supposedly the reason why we can't have a hooded cobra commander... because people are bending to perceptions that don't really exist.
Or we can just run with this connection and totally cancel the entire line, because you know, terrorists make up the cobra regiment. If we really wanna bring politics into this, we shouldn't pick and choose when our "morals" get activated.

The weapons were not bendy in the beginning.
Hasbro made a change to a cheaper and lower quality plastic.
Hasbro is greedy because Hasbro raises prices while cutting costs resulting in very low quality products that make customers very unhappy.
The long term affect is no more money for Hasbro.
Great interview, as always! Emily and Lenny's passion and enthusiasm for this line just radiates off of them. They are so fun to watch during interviews and livestreams and panels. Can't wait to see the next part of this interview.

If possible, I have a question for the team, after they knock out the majority of the (real american hero) designs for characters, do they plan on pulling from other eras like Pursuit of Cobra or Valor vs Venom for example. if the time has passed for questions then ignore this lol

I really hope we start getting realistic looking modern stuff again. These cartoony as hell vintage toys just are not what I want on my shelf.. They look like children's toys.

But trying to do Dialtone, Psyche-out or Mainframe in the mainline would break a lot of designers brains.
They really need to be done in a retro style, and besides that style works better for things like Python Patrol and Tigerforce sometimes, one has to accept that Gi Joe is a weird retro-futurist franchise by being a military sci fi version of the 1980's in origin.
The Robo Skull fighter from the old Action Force line is idiotically cool looking and that is very much a kids toy, a freaking amazing one mind. So looking like a toy isn't always bad "as such" if the toy is cool.
Hopefully they farm the heck out of the Anniversary lines as that had some really cool stuff in it as did Pursuit of Cobra. Paravipers come to mind. or Cobra Jetpack troopers.

Hasbro should bring back Visionaries.
However, we need high quality plastic, proper distribution, low prices, and proper window boxes so people know what they are getting.

A suggestion for a question for part 2, if I may, kind of piggybacking on another poster's suggestion: There are a number of figures from early in the line who were represented in very modern looks and were/are being redone in a decidedly much more classic style. Might that go in the opposite direction, and is there a possibility that characters who have so far only had figures made in their classic looks might get more modern/updated versions in the future?
Good question, I will try and get that in there.
What are your thoughts on a Marvel Legends-style build-a-figure in the Classified line for Road Pig or Nemesis Enforcer to give some new life to the line? Am I nuts to think it's a cool idea?
The extra hand gestures for Mutt can be re-used with other characters later.
It makes sense to expand the parts library to have more options over time.

The Retro O-Rings are not happening other than in the Collab Transformers sets. It’s already been covered previously.
You might have to wait for another significant anniversary or for plastic to get so expensive they are forced to go back to smaller figures.

Who can tell me how to disassemble a Trubble Bubble for repaint purposes. I am guessing after you remove the only two screws in the seat, you have to use heat and muscles to get the other parts apart?
Can anyone tell me why in Europe we are sometimes only allowed to pre-order one figure on Hasbro Pulse? Does this make any sense for pre-orders?
I would imagine it’s down to how much they are allocated for each region. They make a certain amount of figures no matter the pre order quantity. It’s not the same as a made to order sort of situation. I will ask them though.

Great interview Chris. Lots of cool info. Is it possible to ask them why they have chosen not to have the same head joint ball sizes for the males as well as the females. It seems like a missed opportunity to not be able to swap heads very easily. Also it be great if we could get info on the website for the character file cards and skills- Steve

So will Hasbro Gi Joe team be re-releasing those previously released Joe retro figures(ones that had bad car back) with new, sturdy card back? I would hope so. I would want me collection to look uniform, but deep down I don't they will. Same people that said they couldn't give a punching bag because it would cost too much.
The quality of the plastic of the action figure needs to be good enough to handle the noraml and expected stresses of bending the joints and swapping hands and heads.
I was wondering about the onslaught of toys this past two months. My wallet survived but will be glad to see a slower pace
Can you ask about some unmade figures to the line such as Billy, Fred head with armored CC, Dr. Venom, soft master, hard master just as a fan suggestion wish list. They are really nice people.
This probably explains all of the QC issues with the 6 months of figures being condensed.

With the understanding 6 months has been pushed into a year, wonder if night forces story is to lead into toxo vipers and Cesspool, which wasn't to happen for a while , but is going to come much sooner now.
Story telling through packaging sucks.
People can't get most of the figures because they are locked behind HasLabs, exclusives, and mindbogglingly bad distribution.

There is nothing wrong with the Alley Viper's Guns so they can manage to make decent weapons in the past.
If they get bent it's easily corrected with some steam from a boiling kettle (adults only).

Offending the fans, collectors, and customers with low quality paint apps, low quality plastic, poor distrubution, cool things locked away behind esclusives and HasLabs, all hidden in WINDOWLESS boxes with ridiculously high prices!
At the time Croc Master was released the figure itself would have been a $19.99 price point release.
PP Croc Master will rival the movie figures in pegwarming. No one is buying that.
With all this talk about bands why not make crossover action figures based on Jem and the Holograms.

Hasbro is trying to upsell their products to justify increasing prices to third party or independent company levels.
Hasbro wants to sell action figures for $60 or more.
Hasbro's quality is not good enough for the $19.99 price level of a couple years ago.
Hasbro's quality is not even good enough for the discout price of $5 at Ollies or Ross.
Hasbro needs to fix the quality of plastic in the action figures.
Hasbro should not let Lenny's good work go to waste.
I wish Emily would just admit when hasbro messed up. Instead of misleading stories.

the new figures being out of scale has nearly turned me from the line. I've made a conscious decision to only collect figures made on old bodies to keep my collection fluid. CGs and Range vipers are grossly out of scale with all other human sized soldiers. These are troopers so it's just very weird to have them sooo massive. Firefly is also out of scale not measuring up to his old figure. This was a really bad decision on part of the hasbro team and Idk why they'd self sabotage like that. Big Ben is even taller than RB and that is a cardinal sin. RB should be the largest Joe on deck par to none. The cartoon faces also really threw me.. I wasn't sure if it was just images but they actually look much worse in hand than the photos. We had nearly human looking portraits now we have what look like carbon copies of super 7. Again very strange to me. I think this line had enough problems going to vintage designs, they didn't need to make them giant balloon limbed cartoon characters as well. Can we go back to the human looking re-designed Cobra Island figures please? I want to collect toys that look like collectables again.
The price discrepancy was an accident?
The level of incompetence is off the chart.
Or they did this intentionally (see Time 7:00) to make us think they are incompetent so they can get away with using lower quality plastic that can't stand up to the reasonably expected stresses of bending joints and swapping hands and heads.

The anniversary figures look nice, but the price will be too high and the quality will be too low.
Rewatching video she is so arrogant when it comes to simple questions. Interviews should be with only lenny and the other guys they are cool and humble and respectful but not her.
