I had the same issue. Change the boots on the coil packs. No more idle issues.
when u clean your air flow sensor make sure spray that thin metal line by holding the spray the for about 5 seconds
I just did chains and tensioners, got bad idle even after a relearn , might check over me plenum , it does seem like an airleak ,just goto do some fault finding..... its my second car so it's on the backburner for now,after reading yours was a vac leak im going to look extra hard.
Yeah definitely got lucky with an easy fix. Hopefully yours isnt too hard to diag!
That is a cooling fan motor going bad. When ur cooling fans kick on it drawls too many amps from the battery and starves the ignition system that’s when your idle drops, unplug your fans one at a time an let idle, see if it still does it. My driver side fan motor went bad on my 350z did the same thing. I unplugged the bad fan and ran one cooling fan and no more idle issues. I have since then replaced the fan motor. Hope this helps!
Thanks Ill keep an eye out for that. It actually ended up being my plenum spacer sticking out past the plenum so there was a gap for air to be sucked in lol. Bent it back and so far no idle problems.
@@OPDrags Thats dope you got it fixed! Have you ever heard of someone having a low idle in Park and in Drive stopped? I have that issue and it does it after every start

if it wasn't broken dont fix it hence put back the oem plugs and and see what happens
The plugs on it were 6 years 30k miles old. Were on when I bought the car and not sure how long before that they were on. When I pulled them they were black so it was time to replace
sometimes coils takes awhile to stuff out. you really notice it when departure warms up the the coil will miss fire . especially while driving. it just gets worse over short period of time. I,ve had one of those problems one was coil. but when I drove the car. it got better. then it stuffed out. pity you can,t get your hand down to the coil wires and unplug each one when its running. otherwise you,ll have to use a muti-meter. one time my maf stuffed out. I try cleaning it as you did. but never work. it turn out it was the maf. and I got it rebuilded. but that's on my r32. but g35 hence skyline got tomany sensors .do want you plan to do, find out the code .this from a kiwi
Yeah next thing on the list was to test the coils. Might just stop going through the hassle and take it to nissan lol. Ill drop the money for the diag and fix
Did you ever find the problem? Mine started having the exact same issue after installing a 5/16 plenum spacer and an injen cold air, no vacuum leaks as well
Yes my plenum was not staying tight and causing the leak. Even tried loctite on the bolts and that didnt help. So replaced everything with the velocity plenum. No more leak issues
@@OPDrags it ended up being all 6 bolts in the middle having mini vacuum leaks, my scanner was throwing all sorts of cylinder misfire codes. I ended up adding m10 washers with rubber o-rings and it sealed right up. Did you install the spacer on the new plenum?
Nice! and no the kinetix velocity plenum replaces the upper and lower plenums. Connects right to the intake runners

Depends on what youre doing with the car. The kinetix velocity is not a beginner mod to do. Its made for upper rpm power past the stock redline. So the proper mods/supporting mods are recommended with it. If you want a nice feeling daily driver setup with performance more down low/midrange rpm then yes the mrev2 is better to go with. However you can get a DE lower plenum and get it ported and itll out perform the mrev2. Limp Mode Tuning does porting. You can message them on facebook. Would highly recommend that option over the mrev2
i have an 04 coupe 6mt and it idles around 500 rpm, i have the same random engine vibration, like the car is struggling, its on and off id say about every 5 seconds it'll vigorously shake

My car just started doing this today. I replaced my battery. Turned my car on, than it started to idle all funky too. Like u said, it drives fine. It’s just that when you’re at a stop light or stop sign, it idles all fucked up. When I’m at a stop light or sign. It feels like my car is gonna stall but bounces back up to normal idle. Did u figure out what was causing your issue?
I ended up having a huge vac leak around my plenum lol. So definitely check your intake stuff for leaks

Ok I know this sounds crazy but make sure the coils are plug in correct when I swapped my motor I Def didn't plug the coils in correct and it ran terrible , just make sure everything is plug in correctly

My intake to valve cover hose caused my car to run like shit I ran here to see what it could be and you said pcv valve and I was like did I put that stupid hose back on I surely didn’t and it’s running great now
I have similar problem where when I idle my car shakes. Almost like it running out of gas. My rpm gage doesn’t change when it doing it. Any ideas ?
Also I had my clock spring done and after that my brakes automatically start locking out of no where specifically when I go high speeds. I have new brakes and fluid is good. Any ideas
Sounds like you might have a misfire. And for the brakes that sounds crazy I have no idea what that could be. Maybe air still in the lines? Or maybe abs sensor going bad? or maybe the brake master cylinder. id check all those
Wassup man I’m having the same problem I though it was my throttle Paddle sensor so I change it but that only help alittle so can you tell me where did you find that vacuum leaks on your infinity?
Mine was on the front of my intake plenum. But while the car is at idle. Spray soapy water everywhere and listen for the idle to change or if you see an area bubble up you'll find the leak

I just got this problem , Only when warm at idle , rev to like 3-4k then it will go all the way down to like 400-500 RPM then goes to normal, then after like 10 seconds back down to 400-500, then back to normal, also when i stop at stop lights ETC it goes down to 400-500 then back to normal , How did you check for a Vac leak ?
It was loud enough that I could hear it. But other times I grabbed soapy water and sprayed everything that I thought could leak and checked for bubbles
Vacuum leak cause that in most cases or reset your Ecu for Throttle relearn

Had the same problem.with my 2004 g35. Turned out the alternator was failing. Replaced it and problem solved
I’m having same problem at idle rpm goes up and down I think it’s alternator i can hear a little whin when I I’m accelerating
Yeah it’s ur mass flow air if not you have to replace it or change ur cold air Filter

My 07 350z idles around 500rpms sounds like the engine is struggling maybe misfiring and gave me a low oil pressure light changed the low oil pressure sensor sparkplugs pcv valve going to replace the MAF sensors exposing the timing cover to replace the gaskets and i hope the solves it if not i will replace the ignition coils but if you guys have any idea on what else it might be im here help me out lol

So the other day I installed a new MAF sensor because I was getting a p0102 code. The new senor fixed that problem that I was having but now I've realized a few things. First is I feel like the car is slower when accelerating now for some reason and the second thing is that when I first start my car up, it idles fine for a few seconds and then jumps up and back down like I revved the car even tho I didn't touch the pedal. Any ideas?
Definitely check for any intake leaks and do all the resets. Like ecu reset, tb reset, and idle reset.

Sounds like a vac leak or misfire. Mine would run fine when getting on it but driving slow and idle is when it would jump around

Have a 04 g35 had same problem happened for about a week then randomly one day it got worse and it died on me 2 times checked my intake and took it apart cleaned it and put it all back together tightened it up and haven’t had a problem since
I have some issues with the rpms as well , but my rpm are high around 1200 rpm and is constant the don't move from there , gets annoying because is very loud inside the car. also some times when I rapidly accelerate the car to high speed the car in 5 gear lose power or don't accelerate , so I have to go 1 shift down and goes back to normal , but I keep doing it, so I have to wait until the engine cools off and everything goes to normal. I did change the crankshaft sensor the one under the car driver side , but din not fix the issue, do you have any idea ?? Regards.
Hmm kinda sounds like it goes into Limp mode. The car throwing an engine light by chance or have you been able to scan it for codes?
of course the check engine light is on ,some P codes I don't remember exactly , I need to go to oreilly and write the down . let me find out

could be camshaft sensors
take off your throttle body and clean it with throttle body cleaner . but don't touch the butterfly flap .also when stop your butterfly flap is sticking when it close and drop's idle .note: dont push open the butterfly flap in your throttle

Everyone usually touches the valve and messes it up. My 350 idles at 1100. I’ll get it figured out. Just bought the car 2 weeks ago lol

The older gentleman I bought the car from could not figure this out. He would google problems and write them down but he wasn’t good with CZcams. You truly just helped me
Can it be clogged cats??? I have this same issue but have yet came across anyone that has fixed this issue yet lol. I've done idle relearn && that didn't work at all lol but I was told cats are clogged && maybe that's why its losing power

Yeah it was a vacuum leak. I could actually hear it lol. But yeah check for leaks and also try a throttle body relearn

It would do that with my vac leak. Also possibly misfiring. Just enough to notice but not enough to trip the ses light. Done any recent mods or maintenance?
I polished my oem plenum to chrome put a new gasket on and new throttle body gasket but it was doing it before i did this

I did, actually constantly had to. I figured something was wrong with my lower plenum since the bolts werent staying tight so I just replaced everything with the kinetix velocity plenum

@@OPDrags my fx35 is doing the exact same thing and I've replaced all the same stuff including the valve covers and gaskets, radiator, coil packs, plugs, maf and maf connector. Does the same thing, idles fine for 5-10 seconds, then drops down to almost a stall out for a couple seconds, then revs itself high for a second, then back to normal. With all that, would you assume it might also be a vacuum leak in mine as well?

What was the fix?
Because I recently changed my spark plugs (NGK Iridium) and I think that it may be just that. Gears and Gasoline recommended to use the recommended spark plug. Was that the issue? I cleaned my MAF sensors too and it didn't really work. My car has the same symptoms too (shakes every 10-30 seconds at idle and it runs fine when driving).
