- Using micro lures and micro jigging for perch and pike on the Lancaster canal. Once again the Lure boi lures prove to be an extremely effective way to catch micro pike, and perch of all sizes go crazy for them. This video was recorded on a short evening session exploring a new section of the Lancaster canal with some really cool features.
If you enjoy the video please don't forget to like and subscribe it really helps me out!

I was fishing using the fish rig 180 available from rigged and ready. get 10% off on their website with code AFUK10
I mostly used Lure Boi lures in this video and you can get 10% off those too with code AFUK10 - Zábava
Really enjoyed watching that one, love the way you carefully and respectfully handle the fish 😊
Thank you! It’s the least I can do really after pulling them out of the water 😂
Sweet a new video
Hope you enjoyed it mate, only a short one today!
Nice one George 👍🏼,of out on the Lancy tomorrow but gonna be chucking some bigger 15cm lures about, hopefully catch some pike 🤞🏼

@@adventurefishinguk there isn't any waters in the north of England that hols zander there all down south really strange,Dellboy
@@delwigzieful river Trent is full of zander
Heading to the canal today 🤞🎣🤞🎣🤞
Any luck mate?
@@adventurefishinguk 1 perch . All day. Lol. But it was good to be out. A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work. Lol
5:05 Nice Fish
Thanks Sayed!
Change from mono to braid improved my lure fishing by a hell of a lot i dont think id go back now
I think I will mate I’m enjoying using braid, just messing around with leaders for trout and perch fishing etc could be a learning curve! Need to find myself some good fluro
@@adventurefishinguk braid is awesome,Dellboy
@@adventurefishinguk i use the e-sox dropshot fluro and find that to be good stuff, might be worth a try, plenty of breaking strains to try good knot strengh
First one had the lightest eyes I’ve ever seen on a Perch!
I thought that when I rewatched the footage, they looked golden didn’t they! Thanks for the comment 🎣
@@adventurefishinguk They did! Enjoy your content dude. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us! ✌🏼
@@samthebarber93 thanks Sam I appreciate that! Hopefully there’s going to be plenty more to come
That reel looks a lot more suited to ya rig 180 rod buddy …. I think you were using a 3000 size before weren’t you ?? I’ve got a 1000 size on mine and although it’s only a tiny bit smaller than my 2500 size reel it works a treat. Cracking video and loving them stripeys as always … all the best to you and yours George 👍🏽😀🎣
Definitely more suited, I’ve always used a 3000 on it. Never had any problems though and never felt too mismatched but this is definitely an improvement! Glad you enjoyed the video 🎣
@@adventurefishinguk yeah I remember you mentioning George you always use the 3000 size as you were waiting for them to make a small reel to suit the rod. But still did the job and still looked alright. It’s just when you put the smaller reel on you realise it makes a bit more sense and feels a bit more balanced …doesn’t stop you catching plenty of fish and that’s what it’s all about … anyway as I’m stuck at work get yourself out fishing and take some more cracking videos so I’ve got something to watch on my dinner break 👍🏽👍🏽😀😀😀🤣🤣🤣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
@@johnloxley8705 yeah it does feel a lot more well balanced thanks for the advice! Hopefully will be out fishing again today 🤞
Good video mate, quick question if you don't mind. What size/weight jighead are you using for the micro lures?
Thanks mate! I’m not 100% sure on if hook sizes are standardised between stores but from lure boi I use his size 8 hooks on 2 gram jig heads 👍
@@adventurefishinguk Thanks for the info. I think I have some of that size so I will give them a go.👍👍
Morning m8 , I fish the Lancashire canal for the pike (please note you need to be in the pac) and I’ve had a few fall out with foreign people who I’ve caught killing them for food, (Salwick is being emptied by them and needs sorting, anyway you e found some nice spots tight lines keep the videos coming,
Unfortunately people killing pike is a nationwide problem! Really inconsiderate to the people that spend so many hours fishing for them. Not just people eating them either, new anglers who don't really know what they're doing seems to be a big risk factor as well! I've caught pike on the lancaster canal with lures already in their mouths
@Galaxy Brat where in the area are you?
@Galaxy Brat it’s weedy all round to be honest but you might find a few good clear patches at a place called capenwray
@Galaxy Brat I think it’s pay on the bank if you see someone but I’m not sure
Do you need to be in the PAC to fish for perch? due to the fact there’s a chance you’ll catch the odd pike
Thank you for that. I fish the Kendal & Lancaster Canal, usually around Longlands. I’m wondering where your locations are? I’ve not had a huge amount of success but I’m new to fishing and love being out and trying stuff. Would you recommend a wire trace always? I’ve never had a jack :) Peter
I fish all around there mate both ways along the canal. I’d I was you I’d be using a thin wire trace if you’re perch fishing just in case and if you’re properly pike fishing a much heavier wire trace. Hope this helps!
@@adventurefishinguk Thank you yes. I will use a trace. I have some light wire :)
Hi what make of chest harness do you use for your GoPro
Just a GoPro one mate!
What license do you need to fish that area? Is it wanderers permit or Bolton le sands? Lovely perch mat3 👍
I'm not completely sure, I assume wanderers because I haven't seen any signs. I take a bit of cash with me just in case its pay on the bank, and I'm a part of BLS too. I get confused where the boundaries are so like to cover all bases
Would you recommend using higher lb on braid as I'm currently using 8lb brain and 20lb trace, is it worth doing a 20/20lb? with the pike around? Thank you
If you're pike fishing mate definitely go for 30lb braid or above! If you're perch fishing with single hooks you can go lighter, but with trebles somewhere inbetween. Always use a wire trace if possible!
Hi mate how would you compare the Fish rig Max too the Fish rig 180 not seen any comparison videos on them and which one would you recommend out of the two for fishing abroad also you make great videos
Thanks for watching mate!! I prefer the 180 because it's much lighter 👍
Hi what rod are you using? It looks really light but casts well.
Hi David, it's the UL semi-telescopic fish rig 180 by rigged and ready travel rods. It's my lightest rod by far and it casts well. You can get 10% off with code AFUK10 on the website too!
@@adventurefishinguk Thanks very much. I go hiking to the hill tarns and this looks perfect. Cheers
@@davidjackson8829 so do I mate and it’s ideal! I’d also check out the x5 combination rod, you can fly fish with it too!
Where abouts was you fishing was it other side of carnforth mate
Aye north of carnforth 👍
What make is the light blue micro lure ? And where can I get one from ?
It’s from the lure maker lureboi mate. Definitely worth checking out!
@@adventurefishinguk Thankyou, am I right in thinking your from congelton ?
Which angling club controls the fishing rights on the Lancaster canal?
It varies place by place. The majority of it is controlled by the pike anglers club
