- Simon is a fun and cool character, and Steven Ogg, which is obviously know for being Trevor Philips in GTA V, is an amazing and underrated actor.
I wanted to make this video because there are many about Negan and his lines but none about Simon, yet he still is as funny as Negan in my opinion.

I agree, I just hope they have more of him throughout the season leading to his eventual death. I can't even imagine a fitting death for his character though, he's important and needs something special.

Simon during 6x16 was so ominous. I had chills every time he spoke especially when he was talking about it maybe being the last day on Earth for Rick and his group. Because you know what’s coming and it leaves a pit in your stomach.
Me too, was a terrifying episode actually. Probably one of the best in terms of dread.
Simon is a character like Daryl Dixon. Neither exists in the comics, and are TV series exclusives. The character of Daryl was created for Norman Reedus after he unsuccessfully auditioned for the role of Merle Dixon. AMC wanted someone older and more recognizable for that role, so they went with Michael Rooker. But Norman was too good to leave out so they created a role for him. That role turned out to be FAR more important than the role of Merle.
Steven Ogg auditioned for the role of Negan, but didnt have the look or the voice they were looking for, but was too good to not include him. So, they created a role for him.

I hope he sticks in, but I dont know if his character can have a redemption kinda like Negan and Dwight in the comics, or Daryl and Merle in the show, hes a bad guy that doesnt have any good side in him
I think he was created to give the villain role as we see now so Negan's redemption is more believable cause Rick isn't as trigger happy in comics. While he does still try to kill Negan show Rick wouldn't be believable if he decided to save Negan at last minute
People might hate me for this but I think Steve would've done well as Mr Morgan.
I know this is old but Sonequa Martin Green auditioned for Michonne but didn't get it. Didn't want to leave her behind either so they created a sister for Tyreese

He's so much less controlled than Negan, almost makes him more intimidating. Although Negan is a good leader, and I don't even think Simon cares about being in charge, cause he doesn't have a god complex like Negan. But he is a huge asset to the saviors. He's good at implementing what Negan set in place. Negan is a showman, he's perfect for specific situations, but not every day dirty work.

Simon's bigger though lol. There's actually this interview of Steven Ogg where he says him and Jeffrey wanted the fight between Simon and Negan to be more violent and dirtier (like, having Negan bash Simon's head on the floor and all that) because they wanted the audience to believe Negan really could beat Simon, but they couldn't do it that violently, so they did the eye thing to justify Simon being thrown off from the start lol. Really cool to see they were that invested.

In better call Saul, another show on amc Steven ogg makes an appearance as some gun for hire character, better call Saul is the prequel to breaking bad. Which some people think is connected to the walking dead because Walter whites meth appears in a twd episode. You never learn the name of the character Steven ogg plays in better call Saul, it would be interesting to find out that is was Simon.

Steven is an amazing actor and I hope people start putting him in much more. He's incredible as Simon and just mesmerising as Trevor.
I like how these are called "Simon best scenes" and they're ALL his scenes haha he is just that amazing of a character.

Honestly, Simon and Gregory is my favorite dynamic in the whole show, with the possible exception of Abraham and Eugene. Gregory squirms and kisses ass like his life depends on it, while Simon is plays along while pushing Gregory into corners every chance he gets.
Imagine being stuck in a prison cell with The Governor, Negan, Beta, Simon, Shane and Merle all together hahahaha

People are saying that Simon is almost the same character as Negan, but I'd have to disagree.
Simon is not a natural born leader like Negan (granted method of leadership is unorthodox but leadership comes in many many traits and personalities.)
I think without Negans guiding hand, compassion towards others of a disturbed nature and stern leadership, Simon would be nothing but a demented lose cannon with zero and I mean zero boundaries and limits, useful for nothing except killing a lot and eventually dying in some vain and useless incident, it is imperative that he remains under some sort of control by someone he fears to act as a sort of bulwark.
While Negan is in control he is effectively able to use Simons issues as a helpful resource.
Where as Negan is in complete control of his sociopathic tendencies, he knows there is a time and place for everything and still manages to navigate between rational and irrational at any time he so chooses.
I genuinely believe Negan would have been a great general or leader in the civilian world if not for the apocalypse and if he had gained some sort of help during his childhood.
Here you have the perfect example of when sociopaths meet psychopaths

There is some goofiness about his whole presence mixed with his ruthlessness. It was hilarious and awkward when he was intimidating Gregory.

I have a certain respect for this guy; especially when he decides that the garbage people are too much trouble to keep around, and just exterminates them. Rick and Negan are clearly willing to play their games. Simon is the only one who basically tells them "Ok. Youve been bad and were taking away your toys and you need a spanking." Only the spanking went too far.
Simon has GOT to be the best right hand man anyone could ask for. Every scene he's just KILLIN it. He even brings Negan some scotch and lets him know he got it for him. What a champ!
I'm more scared of Simon than Negan, because he seems more unpredictable and more calmer. His charisma also is something to commend.

Not gonna lie. I didnt mind Negan. But Simon always kept me on edge. Every scene. Every line.
Simon has become one of my favorites in the show. Sad this will be his last season. He owns every scene he is in. Perfect example of how characters not in the comic can be fantastic additions.
