This was explained on one of those Netflix shows, "the toys that made us" or the "shows that made us" or whatever. There was a toy company that bought the rights to sell star trek themed toys and they just slapped star trek stickers on existing toys they were already making. In some cases, they changed the colors of plastic, but it had nothing to do with star trek other than the licensing agreement.

I was a kid in the 70s. I had the communicators, phasers and cb model radio. But that helmet was guaranteed to earn you a justified ass kicking from your preferred school bully.

I believe it was a Jetsons toy from the early 60s. Shown on characters on one episode...including Astro. Then got recycled as different properties as the years went on.

Is it just me or does the editing that copies the independent home enthusiasts that do unboxings just feel unauthentic to anyone else for some reason? If it were Mr Pecks personal channel, it would be one thing.. but this is CBS putting their guy to review products they have licensed.. On one hand, I am happy for Mr Peck to find a way to be involved, on the other, I see the unboxing style that provides value more from an indpendent / unbiased viewpoint - and editing that reflects a yt startup (just without the memes) rather than a billion dollar brand.
