Ethan Peck on His Acting Inspiration and Becoming Spock | This Guy | InStyle - Zábava
This guy should definitely be the Batman of James Gunn’s DCU. Seriously, he’s got the talent, the looks, the physical height, and the voice for Batman. Look at him, listen to him, and try to tell me he’s not Batman material
Exactly!, How is Ethan not Batman yet?. Come on James Gunn please cast this man already!!!.
Ethan would be a fabulous Batman. And he wants to play Batman too.
Ethan Peck is very humble! He (and Anson Mount) is outstanding on the new Star Trek. I really love the series!
Well cast indeed. ❤
I just love the way he says “my grandfather was an actor”
As if it’s really nothing that big .
I love that he is not trying to ride his grandfather's coattails, and trying to make it on his own.
gave grandpa some shade. Ethan.... he was the magnificent Gregory Peck! which I am sure he knows..
“Magnificent” perfectly encapsulates Mr. Gregory Peck.
Mr. Peck has the best voice! I could listen to him forever!
Damn straight! His voice is simply intoxicating!
His grandfather surely was a great template.
He inherited his grandfather's voice! 😊If you've never seen Gregory Peck in anything, you will fall in love with his voice too. You can definitely hear him in Ethan's voice. (Watch some clips of "Roman Holiday" )

Ethan, as I lifelong Trekkie, I can absolutely say that you do great credit to the legacy that is Spock
This young man is absolutely perfect fit the fole of Spock. Even his intonation.
Ethan is so worthy of playing Spock and he is doing it perfectly. I could listen and watch him for hours 😍
I had the pleasure of meeting Ethan and hanging out with him for a while. I can attest to the fact he is a very humble well spoken, kind, down to earth individual.
His voice is so deep and calming. He needs to be doing audio books 🤗
He needs to be reprising his late grandfather's role as Atticus Finch, on film or on the stage.
His grandfather is a legend. Ethan is well on his way to becoming a legend himself. Congratulations on the success of Strange New Worlds. The storytelling is unique and creative. The cast is superb. Thank you for bringing Trek back.
I liked his "gotta look out for Star Trek" when asked about his favorite Chris (Pine).
I can definitely see some of his grandfather in him. Seems to be a very reflective soul. His description of STTNG mirrors my own experience with STTOS.
He really resembles his grandfather. I have loved his talent in everything i've seen him so far, and the man can sing!
His voice is like velvet very like his grandfather's who I adored both such good actors xx
I did not realize Ethan Peck was an LA native, a veteran actor or related to Gregory Peck. I guess I shouldn't be surprized since he is *so* good on ST:SNW. I assumed most of the actors on SNW were Canadian, British or from Australia/New Zealand.
What an impressive guy! His performance as Spock is excellent.
His mother was a true force. I bought some of her paintings for clients as well as for myself. Vaguely remember meeting a young Ethan. Very sweet kid.
I’m loving this guy as Spock. And I just found out that he is related to Gregory Peck. Very cool!
No way! Gregory Peck was an amazing actor
Leonard Nimoy as Spock is very close to my heart...and I've loved every second of Ethan's. I thought Zachary Quinto's Spock was fine and he did very well with the character, but it really didn't resonate with me. I just chalked it up to me being too into original Spock...until I saw Ethan's performance and everything just clicked. The quality of the rest of the cast obviously plays a part in how well it works, but Ethan gets a lot of respect from me.
He epitomises Spock perfectly. Very genuine person.
Ethan, you are a freaking incredible Mr. Spock! Don't ever doubt it.
Ethan Peck is a really good actor.
I love Ethan Peck's interpretation of Spock, and I'm somewhat surprised to discover that he's the same age Nimoy was when the latter originally portrayed the character. Peck is, frankly, a more classically handsome actor than Nimoy was (no shade intended, I swear!), but he's got a similar resonant quality that makes him a logical fit for the proto-Vulcan.
I always thought nimoy was hot in the role. Peck is definitely more yassified. But he has the exact same quality about the character that makes him compelling, it's hard to describe...
He's a brilliant Spock, by far the best since Nimoy. He has a certain stillness and depth that works well for Spock.
That was interesting and fun. I'm an OG (original series) Star Trek fan and Spock is my all time favorite character (followed by Uhura; had the great pleasure of having dinner with Nichelle Nichols years ago - she was GLORIOUS!) so it matters to me who plays him. I think he's done a fantastic job in a series that has exceeded my expectations. I watched the original in reruns as a kid. That was my first exposure to Trek and Strange New Worlds comes closer to the original than any Paramount production has ever come. I am truly both touched and astonished by how good it is and how true it is to the Star Trek spirit. Well done, everyone!
And Ethan you are a PISCES. I always like listening to Pisces men to just see how their minds work and how they carry themselves. The Piscean energy is not easy for men to carry; it's better suited to women. And quite a few Piscean men turn to the arts to express that energy. Pisces is the most vulnerable and sensitive sign in the Zodiac. And of course most men do NOT want to be that vulnerable (understandably). Pisces also craves transcendence. Astrologers say it's a sign that has one foot in the material world and one foot in (or searching for) the Other world. Pursuing and practicing art is very healthy and constructive way of finding that transcendence (religion, spirituality, communing with nature, and meditating are also great ways of doing it).
Great interview! I look forward to getting to see more of this iteration of Spock.
Amen
If you haven't seen him in the series 10 Things I Hate About You, check it out ASAP. It's billed as a teen show, but Ethan Peck dominates every scene he's in. When I heard he was going to play Spock, I knew he would nail it. And he did!
Dominates is a great word for it😅
And he's also FINE too😉🫠
If this guy isn’t the next Batman it will be the greatest missed opportunity in castings dude is perfect for Bruce
The thing about the Olsen twins blew my mind bc Ethan and MK& Ash are thé same age - Ethan is older by 3.5 months … amazing what publicity can do to perception of age
Damn you Ethan Peck! Stop looking so cute!
Wow! What a fascinating interview!! Thanks for sharing answers to such cool questions!! Your portrayal of Spock is fantastic, keep up the great work!
-A Star Trek Fan
Every time I see Ethan Peck it just reminds me of Patrick Verona. He will always be Patrick Verona to me. U go man!
I love his Spock. I love Strange New Worlds more than any show in a VERY long time. I watch an ep a night catching up and go to bed happy. Though sometimes it can make me cry with the sad endings. Ive been a huge Trekkie/Trekker my entire life and I think its the best Trek since the original series. And miss Sing is really cute :)
He's a beautiful man with a wonderful speaking voice!
He just became my "Celebrity Crush"
A GREAT Spock. Love watching this man acting.
Aquarius? No... Ethan is Pisces. Great Interview.
I thought the same. I was like Nope. Pisces. UNLESS they are doing Vedic then he might be an Aquarius.
@@lucero3945 Exactly. ☺
I think they're doing Sidereal signs/Jyotish signs? Wierd.
@@indranidasgupta8982 Interesting...
Sunday morning, March 2nd, 1986 - He's a Pisces! ❤😊
I loved his voice in "I'm the X - Subspace Rhapsody". Its the best ive ever heard.
Gregory Peck is your grandfather? Outstanding. He's one of my favorite actors.
This guy is an instant icon.
When he says he might already have his dream role…….yeah. We like Ethan.
I love him.
Spock is a superhero to millions.
I've never heard of this fellow before, but when I saw his face, I immediately thought he was related to Gregory Peck. I looked up his dad and I actually think he looks more like his grandfather than his dad.
I've never heard of this guy until I saw him on Star Trek.
This was a great video! I didn't know anything about Ethan Peck other than the fact that he plays Spock on SNW (which he's great in!). It was really awesome to get to hear about his "human" side.
I love him as Spock 😍😍😍 I think Leonard Nimoy would be so proud 🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖
We need more actors like Peck and Henry Cavill with some humility to them. It's refreshing!
Thanks! This was a great interview. Love Ethan Peck!!
I've never heard of cryptomnesia..thanks for sharing. Why were his questions different from the other interviews, I wonder?
I quite love Ethan Peck as Spock !!! He does it justice up there with Zachary Quinto ....
Man, 1986 as well as 1983 were great 1980s birth years for a lot of great male and female actors.
I really enjoyed that interview and agreed with so much of what he said.
Ethan has a strong resemblance to his grandfather, and his voice is just as deep too!
Wow totally didn’t make the connection with Gregory Peck. 🤯 Not shocked both are awesome actors!
You are such an amazing artist. Thank you for everything
He gives me hope
This guy has a lot of range that I hope helps him to overcome the death of being typecast.
Ethan Peck in my opinion is so damn HOT !!!!
Aww so interesting. And i really love his spock!! Vulcan humour is amazing!!.... need to check out his other works 😊
I loved him in The Curse of Sleeping Beauty - he's the only reason to watch the movie, really. But he's by far and away the best looking Spock.
Fabulous, fabulous guy! He is a bit like and very much unlike his character. I wish they had let him talk more on his own, not just answer the questions. He is great to listen to 😉
He is crushing it! Haven’t watched Star Trek since I was a kid, and this show and Ethan has sucked me back in. It’s so fun, deep and silly, I love it.
I love this guy.
Ooo his answer reflecting on "love at first sight"! 1st time I've ever heard anyone say that (your shit being triggered by their shit), but boy did that ring true
Ethan is extremely handsome and has the most gorgeous voice ❤
I thought he was the grandson of Gregory Peck. I see the family resemblance, cause he has his granddad's dark piercing eyes and handsome features.
Since he said he wants to be a comic book superhero, I’d want him to be the new Batman
Ethan looks just like his grandfather.
Ridiculously good-looking. Dayum.
Ok, now I get the look.
Ethan takes his coffee black, Captain Janeway approves and would like to know his location and supplier of the Borg defeating substance.
March 2nd is Pisces not Aquarius by the 12 month zodiac calendar. otherwise a pretty cool interview.
What a lovely man he is. I have enjoyed his iteration of Spock very much. He has created a perfect mix of Vulcan and human and what's more, his own, fine interpretation. I think Leonard would approve. BTW- that recurring dream is about a world that feels too big and too overwhelming for what was probably a very sensitive kid who felt everything more deeply that his peers. It's OK Ethan... See? You are doing just fine!
Such a fine specimen of man.
Aquarius is an air sign Ethan!
Gregory Peck your grandfather, cool 😊.
His grandpa was a inspiration to Frank Miller's Batman, would been amazing if Ethan could play Bruce Wayne/ Batman one day.
HE should become the new SUPERMAN imo 😃
He's the Perfect Batman
Spock 😍
As someone a few months younger than you, I volunteer to help you and me figure out what defines a soulmate!!!
Spock 🖖❤️
He is beautiful
Marvel, give this man a JOB!
I like his chemistry with his mom, his sister, his captain, and I guess even his fiancee
Should he play Batman then (in the words of Karl Urban), he would have played two iconic "pointy-eared bastards"
My Chrises are Pine and Evans, too
Mr. Spock's favorite villain is Anton Chigurh. Life sure does love it's ironies
Definitely crush on Ethan
James Gunn needs to consider Ethan Peck as the DCU Batman. He should at least get a screen test
"Don't test me kirk! I will break you!!!"
Meow! Love him!
I love you, Ethan🤍
March 2nd Aquarius?? So, when did the astrological signs change? Last I checked Feb 19 through March 20 was Pisces, not Aquarius. I’m a March 3rd Pisces.
good save at the end saying chris pine (athough chris evans is a valid answer).
He's 4 days older than me 😱 I didn't know
My mom's birthday is March 2nd as well, and she's Pisces...... How is he an Aquarius?
He'd be a great Bruce Wayne.
My pick for Batman in the DCU.
Gosh he's cute
fuk what a humble guy... smart too... great job with Spock coming from a guy who started watching in 1965!
You’re a perfect Spock…
He should call his memoir "I Am Also Spock"
If he was born on March 2, he’s not an Aquarius. He’s a Pisces.
