Despite all the crap that happened to Tyson: wins, losses, gains, fails and all the allegations... One of the BEST OF ALL TIME regardless. I was too young when his career took off but all the stories and CZcams videos showed me everything I missed.
Tyson never beat great heavyweights.
@@m1kenas COUGH Berbick COUGH
@@m1kenas you're a disgrace to boxing by forgetting Trevor Berbick existed
@@someone0 Trevor sucked. He was never in a great fight. Trevor neve great opposition
Shame as I grew up with mike, and enjoyed watching him I can recall Muhammad Ali as young as 9-10yrs old..
Mike Tyson's career record 58 total fights, 50 Wins, (44 knockouts) 6 Losses, 2 No-contest. The youngest Heavyweight Champion of all time, at 20. He was much quicker than most realized and his extraordinary power was explosive. “Iron" Mike “Dynamite in both Hands” Tyson, would have gone down as the greatest heavyweight of all time with a record well over 50-0 if Cus D'Amato lived and he never got messed up with Robin Givens and Don King.
@@aonyx5270 Definitely not.
Truth, thank you!
Good old Don Thing, and Robin Takens.
Facts !!!

Forget defeating a prime Ali, you couldn't even touch him. The speed, the grace, the accuracy of blows thrown, the shuffle, the suave, the swagger. Unparalleled to this day! Rest in peace, champ! 🙏
FACT!
Fact. Joe Frazier beat an Ali pretty convincingly in their 1st fight. A prime Ali! Ali was 29 at that time and Frazier was 27. Ali also had trouble with Ken Norton. Both fighters as you know by watching these videos had tremendous left hooks and came forward. I know because I am an old fart who saw these live. BTW.. These videos are awesome.. save some of the commentary. Sorry for rambling. Enjoy Boxing! It was at one time one of the best professional sports around.
He was a tremendous talent. And while I understand the impetus of your comment, it is a bit inaccurate. Sonny Banks, and Henry Cooper both dropped Ali (before his hiatus) as he kept his hands comically low in the pocket. So, he was not untouchable. Doug Jones also gave a young Ali a lot of trouble, and he wasn’t even considered a top fighter - nor was Banks. Many people embellish what Ali was capable of, he is an all time great - especially regarding heavyweights - but he had many flaws which would later be exploited by the fighters who beat him. In order to respect pugilists who achieved more than Ali but didnt have his charisma, it is best that would look at Ali - as a boxer - objectively as possible.
You are right brother

The Ali fight was my favorite. Don’t know if you guys have seen Baki on Netflix but Ali is in there and the way they talk about his style is amazing. And seeing this helped me see how accurate and amazing Baki is. This was amazing!
Baki is too sick
Gatti was too tough for his own good. He reminds me of Matthew Saad Muhammad.
Theres no ali fight in this video though
What I love about the older boxing is there chins were impeccable, they took damage
And their sportsmanship, so wholesome
DAMN! First time I saw the Gatti vs Robinson fight! what a war that was. Gatti is such a warrior
My thoughts exactly, that was a hell of a battle!!

Gatti/ward trilogy will always be my favorite fights of all time.
Those and the Holyfield/Bowe trilogy were the heavyweight equivalent. Those big boys beat the ever loving crap out each other
Arturo gatti and Mickey ward I’ll never forget watching that on HBO as a kid in the 90s. My mind was blown. I still get chills when I listen to Jim Lampley’s call of that 9th round I think it was.

Wish Tyson had the mind set he now has.what a machine that man was terrifying
Mike Tyson was great and could have been the greatest ! His power at his age was dominant and unfortunately was used and manipulated f***ing up his mentality which prevented him from being the greatest ...... much love and respect to Mike Tyson .
he could have knocked buster out in 3 rounds, he obviously knew Buster had lost his Mum. I think Tyson went easy on him?
@@nickyG7515 I think Mike paid for the lifestyle and scandals his life was going thru. I was a kid when I saw this match and it was sad to watch.
He wouldn’t have been half the boxer he was.
Tyson was manipulated by King. Without a doubt if Cus had been around for longer he would have been a destroyer thoughout his entire career. King seperated Tyson from his trainer, Tyson was facing alot of demons and had the world at his fingertips. Tyson fell down a hole and clawed his way back up to the person he is today. Not many people can survive the temptation and purge his own demons and come out a better person. Tyson is an amazing human being, he has earned his retirement and happy ending. He has so much wisdom that's so valuable to listen to. I can listen to Mike talk for hours about life.
Mike was working on pure heart and still knocked him down, he was NOT in the shape he usually is or was in his prime, he was affected by things happening for sure.
Always excuses.
THUNDERBIRD!! Brother there is no excuse if you’re not in a right state of mind and go into a boxing match or anything in general you are not going to do well.
@@thunderballz74 no excuses for a man who never gives excuses. Why would we be, Mike doesn't want us making excuses for him either, just facts, over jealousy and assumption.
Thats nothing any person with empathy and awareness of the importance of surroundings and training would suggest. And Tyson has reasons, not excuses. He still lost.
Not in his prime!? He was 24 or 25 years old. Buster fought great so show some respect please.
Ali was definitely the fastest and smoothest fighter ever as a heavyweight
In his prime watching him fight was like poetry in motion.
@Adam Chapman please don't compare to the greateast...not a spec on him...
@Adam Chapman who is furry?
@Adam Chapman if you mean fury..he wasn't even born...let alone capable of even hitting ali or getting close to him ...
@Adam Chapman because he is dead...and he would be today if he was aged 18 to 32..nobody faster ever as a heavy weight..nobody will ever be that fast again...
The first knockdown by Ali is the most masterful piece of boxing I have ever seen
he was moving back continually while he did it and didnt even put his bodyweight into it, it was Williams own momentum walking into the 1-2. Watching it over and over in slow motion
Man! These guys beat each other's brain's out, much respect.
his actions always create a sensation around the world, the expressions of the movements are so captivating...more.

That's right mate. Buster Douglas fought a great fight. There are a lot of sooks out there still making excuses for Mike Tyson's weaknesses. The trainer. BULLSHIT! Tyson already new how to fight. The count. They both recieved the same count and Buster Douglas was clearly listening to the Referee so that too is BULLSHIT! Mike Tyson Lost, so to his fans, "Get Over It". I did.

Tyson is the GOAT
@@matthewmichaels5522 How can anyone be the GOAT, when all of his losses were by KO, and never got up from the canvas to win, or at least go the distance 🤔
@@josephblow5946 i count his wins, not his losses, because his losses came about after jail time. Who he beat and how he did it makes him the GOAT. No man could match Tyson in his prime. No one. Not Ali, not Fury, no one.
@@matthewmichaels5522 To be fair, Ali fought way past his prime, not to mention with parkinsons, and never got punked out the way Tyson did on more than one occasion. The expert fight analysts determine the "GOAT" by a fighter's record, who he beat, etc. Under that criterion, the consensus opinion is always for Clay/Ali. The highest ranking I've seen Tyson get was second behind Ali. In most of the other top ten ratings, Tyson is somewhere in the middle, trailing behind Holyfield and Lewis.
There's one guy who would for sure KO a prime pre-jail Tyson. It's the same guy Tyson refused to fight when the guy was over 40 years old. His name is George Foreman. Like they say, styles make fights. Cus even told Tyson that no swarmer will ever beat Foreman. I guess Mike Tyson remembered that statement when Don King lobbied for the Foreman/Tyson fight.
However, if the 80's Mike Tyson fought today, he would be undisputed world champion for at least 2 decades. Heck, even George Chuvalo or Jerry Quarry would be undisputed world champions today 😀

The saddest in boxing for me is seeing Mike Tyson loosing this fight
The referee stole the victory from him. Its very annoying. Basically it was because of Tyson's character out of the ring. I hate to see the loss too.
Tyson never did well against great boxers, Holyfield kicked his ass twice and Lennox Lewis almost put Tyson in the grave. In order to be great you need to perform and beat the great.

I dont believe that there will ever emerge a fighter like Tyson in the entire universe
What are you talkin boot Willis lol? You obviously dont know much aboot boxing. Also the reason its the number 1 fighting sport, is because its the 1st and best of all martial arts. Thats why it was televised first. Just look at the boxer revolution in China for example. It is the father of all martial arts, as Bruce said said, there is nothing fancy, or more effective than a straight punch. Its straight from A to B. Mix that with wrestling or Jiu Jitsu after, and you are super dangerous....V
@@vincentbradshaw9980 talking and fighting are two different thing and everybody knows what prime tyson was capable of in the ring and don't even think abt outside the ring cause there is no rules in the street and most of all you gotta have a heart to fight in the street. I was also a scally street fighter lol. I know a bit aboot boxin. I never said I didnt respect Tyson, I might have said something different though. I could have also said I dont think Tyson ever reached his full potential, to be called one of the GREATS, after Custamanno died. He coulda been, yet was short of the mark. Never said I didnt respect him though, and in his early days, he was GREAT. He just never got to the finish line in my opinion....Hope you understand my meaning now....V

Excellent very entertaining, had me on the edge of my seat throughout...
Marvellous fighter Clay, timing was impeccable, never seen any boxer who could move like that.
I'm an Ali-fan since about 1971 but I disagree with the Williams was his greatest performance of boxing. The facts are that two years prior to this fight Williams lost a kidney, had paralyzed hip muscles, and a bullet still in there, and had lost almost 60 pounds. Further, at the time of this fight Williams hadn't beaten a top rated opponent in almost five years and also he would never do again. It means that Williams was totally washed up when he fought Ali. Off course Ali looked good! IMO claiming that Ali fought his best fight against Williams is more an insult than a praise to Ali.
nope . Williams was Still a very formidable and dangerous fighter . you are only repeating what casuals and flomos say re Williams .. maybe study more ?
My dad and I saw it live on TV. The most unforgettable match in our time: Benny "Kid" Paret and Emile Griffith III. 1962.
