    Mike Tyson's career record 58 total fights, 50 Wins, (44 knockouts) 6 Losses, 2 No-contest. The youngest Heavyweight Champion of all time, at 20. He was much quicker than most realized and his extraordinary power was explosive. “Iron" Mike “Dynamite in both Hands” Tyson, would have gone down as the greatest heavyweight of all time with a record well over 50-0 if Cus D'Amato lived and he never got messed up with Robin Givens and Don King.

    Forget defeating a prime Ali, you couldn't even touch him. The speed, the grace, the accuracy of blows thrown, the shuffle, the suave, the swagger. Unparalleled to this day! Rest in peace, champ! 🙏

      @michaelrodriguez2597 Před 2 lety +17

      Fact. Joe Frazier beat an Ali pretty convincingly in their 1st fight. A prime Ali! Ali was 29 at that time and Frazier was 27. Ali also had trouble with Ken Norton. Both fighters as you know by watching these videos had tremendous left hooks and came forward. I know because I am an old fart who saw these live. BTW.. These videos are awesome.. save some of the commentary. Sorry for rambling. Enjoy Boxing! It was at one time one of the best professional sports around.

    • @strikingdiscussion5263
      @strikingdiscussion5263 Před 2 lety +10

      He was a tremendous talent. And while I understand the impetus of your comment, it is a bit inaccurate. Sonny Banks, and Henry Cooper both dropped Ali (before his hiatus) as he kept his hands comically low in the pocket. So, he was not untouchable. Doug Jones also gave a young Ali a lot of trouble, and he wasn’t even considered a top fighter - nor was Banks. Many people embellish what Ali was capable of, he is an all time great - especially regarding heavyweights - but he had many flaws which would later be exploited by the fighters who beat him. In order to respect pugilists who achieved more than Ali but didnt have his charisma, it is best that would look at Ali - as a boxer - objectively as possible.

      Tyson was manipulated by King. Without a doubt if Cus had been around for longer he would have been a destroyer thoughout his entire career. King seperated Tyson from his trainer, Tyson was facing alot of demons and had the world at his fingertips. Tyson fell down a hole and clawed his way back up to the person he is today. Not many people can survive the temptation and purge his own demons and come out a better person. Tyson is an amazing human being, he has earned his retirement and happy ending. @@matthewmichaels5522 To be fair, Ali fought way past his prime, not to mention with parkinsons, and never got punked out the way Tyson did on more than one occasion. The expert fight analysts determine the "GOAT" by a fighter's record, who he beat, etc. Under that criterion, the consensus opinion is always for Clay/Ali. The highest ranking I've seen Tyson get was second behind Ali. In most of the other top ten ratings, Tyson is somewhere in the middle, trailing behind Holyfield and Lewis.
      There's one guy who would for sure KO a prime pre-jail Tyson. It's the same guy Tyson refused to fight when the guy was over 40 years old. His name is George Foreman. Like they say, styles make fights. Cus even told Tyson that no swarmer will ever beat Foreman. I guess Mike Tyson remembered that statement when Don King lobbied for the Foreman/Tyson fight.
      However, if the 80's Mike Tyson fought today, he would be undisputed world champion for at least 2 decades. Heck, even George Chuvalo or Jerry Quarry would be undisputed world champions today 😀

      What are you talkin boot Willis lol? You obviously dont know much aboot boxing. Also the reason its the number 1 fighting sport, is because its the 1st and best of all martial arts. Thats why it was televised first. Just look at the boxer revolution in China for example. It is the father of all martial arts, as Bruce said said, there is nothing fancy, or more effective than a straight punch. Its straight from A to B. Mix that with wrestling or Jiu Jitsu after, and you are super dangerous....V

    I'm an Ali-fan since about 1971 but I disagree with the Williams was his greatest performance of boxing. The facts are that two years prior to this fight Williams lost a kidney, had paralyzed hip muscles, and a bullet still in there, and had lost almost 60 pounds. Further, at the time of this fight Williams hadn't beaten a top rated opponent in almost five years and also he would never do again. It means that Williams was totally washed up when he fought Ali. Off course Ali looked good! IMO claiming that Ali fought his best fight against Williams is more an insult than a praise to Ali.
